His competitive spirit isn't limited to sports, he also takes part in the school's fashion contest and the video game tournament. He even wants to challenge the zoo's new panther. However, [[DownplayedTrope he avoids being truly insufferable over the results]] - it seems he's just unrealistically confident in his abilities and never wants to stop trying to live up to this confidence.
* ConfusionFu: His fighting style as a Miraculous holder. His actions are so impossible to predict that a supervillain specifically made for predictive analysis had a mental shutdown trying to anticipate what Kim would do.
* DistressedDude: Takes on this role in "Animan" after the zookeeper whose panther he taunted falls victim to an Akuma and comes after him. It happens again in "Syren", but since the title villain is in love for him, he wasn't ''that'' distressed.

In "Party Crasher" he's too busy trying to practice swimming in Adrien's bathtub to notice the titular villain storm in and attack the party and capture the guests, then taking the fight outside nor does he notice Master Fu sneaking in and leaving a Miraculous box with him until it practically floats right in front of his face. In "Optigami" he spends most of the episode running up the building's stairwell trying to beat the elevator and fails to notice Style Queen attacking the building and the guests, including a large crowd, and Max running down an opposite stairwell trying to get away until finally he arrives at the top and the villain is waiting for him. To add insult to injury Kim also fails to notice he'd long missed the ceremony and thinks he beat his friends in the elevator even though they'd long since arrived half the episode ago.
* HopelessSuitor: Has a crush on [[AlphaBitch Chloé]]. One guess how it turns out for him.
* InTheHood: He wears a red hoodie.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Can be interpreted as this. Sometimes, he does and says things that often get him into trouble with others.
