In Metroid Prime, scan data of Zebes reveals it to have both an incredible mass and gravitational pull. As Samus grew up on Zebes, with Chozo DNA to boot, simple math performed by fans reveals this gem: Suitless, Samus can lift ''66.5 TONS'' on Earth.[[note]]That's with her just lifting the equivalent of her own body weight, given that athletes on Earth can lift more than their own weight with training, it's reasonable to assume 66.5 tons isn't even the upper limit of Samus' physical strength[[/note]]

* LadyOfWar: She cracks skulls and does it with ''obscene'' poise and grace.

* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: About as kind of a mercenary as you could possibly know. She ''has'' to be an optimist to endure what she's been through.

* BodyHorror: She goes through this fighting the corruption in ''Prime 3.'' When was the last Nintendo game you saw the protagonist vomiting up radioactive sludge? Also, if she overloads on Phazon in Hyper-mode, she becomes fully corrupted.

* AttackItsWeakPoint: The four sockets it places spheres into. You have to break the sphere first and then attack the exposed socket before it can load a new sphere in.

* BeautyMark: Naturally. Previously hinted at by [[AuthorAppeal Yoshio Sakamoto]] who claimed to be the only one who knew where it was. Its location is finally shown in ''Other M:'' under the left side of her lip.i
* BodyHorror: Her body goes through this fighting the corruption in "Prime 3." If she overloads in Hypermode, she becomes fully corrupted.
* BoobsOfSteel: From Zero Mission onwards she's been a rather ''well-endowed'' badass, something that [[{{Rule34}} the fan-base has certainly noticed.]]

* PsychoForHire: The manga and some of the Data Logs in ''MetroidPrime'' imply that his reason for being with the Space Pirates boils down to a sadistic love of killing other beings.

* TheDragon: He's not only an actual dragon, but he's the penultimate boss in all of his appearances. [[note]]Except for [[UpdatedRerelease Zero Mission]].[[/note]] The trope is averted in ''Metroid Prime'', where he is one of the two [[BigBad Big Bads]], though he is the first to be taken out as the penultimate boss.

* TomboyishPonytail: Sometimes seen with a ponytail when out of armor, especially in later appearances. It definitely helps reinforce her no-nonsense ActionGirl nature even when she doesn't have her Power Suit on.

* BigEater: Fitting, considering it's status as TheCorruption.

* Expy: Directly stated to be one of [[Franchise/{{Alien}} Ellen Ripley]], another strong female sci-fi protagonist who battles cosmic monstrosities. She's also occasionally considered a DistaffCounterpart of [[Franchise/{{StarWars}} Boba Fett]], another space-faring BountyHunter with a CoolShip, a full suit of armor, and lots of weapons and gadgets.

* CombatTentacles: Either this or a TractorBeam, depending on how you interpret it. Either way, Gorea can drain LifeEnergy with them and assimilate weapon systems this way. Can't get Samus's power beam though.

* BatmanGambit: It sent the distress signal to all of the Hunters in the galaxy so that they would find the Octoliths and set it free. It even managed to get Hunter with weapons equivalent to the now gone Alimbics, to make assimilating them that much easier.

Although seemingly remorseless and without scruples, she possesses untold benevolence and humanity despite her violent profession and strives to be a force for good, spreading light into the darkest corners of space.
