* ReassignedToAntarctica: Downplayed. Even as Yang continues to get promoted and earn accolades, many of his superiors (and eventually the High Council) give him sub-par assignments and support in an attempt to stymy his rise in popularity. While he quietly makes the most of the situation, this isn't lost on some of his subordinates.

* GoingNative: For Köfenhiller's part in saving Yang, Murai arranged him to not only get Alliance citizenship but also a retroactive pension from the FPA military befitting his rank, as if he had always been there. Yang simply admits that he'd [[KnowWhenToFoldThem retreat in failure]]. After their conversation has Yang admit that his hopes are [[OneLastJob to be able to retire after winning a long enough ceasefire in the]] EndlessWar for Julian to grow up in peace, Schönkopf accepts the plan, and their long and fruitful partnership begins.
