* CanonImmigrant: His Ouja Survive form was previously a Literature/SICHeroSaga exclusive that made a live-action appearance. The only main difference is that in the original SIC, Ouja uses a Survive Shippu card, while the ''Outsiders'' version of Ouja Survive uses Survive Mugen instead.

* UncertainDoom: It's unknown if the Ark is completely off the grid after its defeat to Garren in episode 4. But its seeming destruction ultimately broke the BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil, [[spoiler:serving as a catalyst for Zein to [[TheBadGuyWins emerge as the true winner]] all while [[EvilAllAlong show its true colors]].]]

This is best shown with [[spoiler:Desast disobeying the Foundation's orders and Horobi, who defected to Zein's side]]. Although this is played straight on Banno's case after he managed to store his data on Brain's tablet and smartphone, thus allowing himself to act as a bug while Brain acts as TheMole while overhearing Zein's inner circle.
* CorruptedCharacterCopy: They act as the villainous equivalents of the Showa era resistance groups like the [[Series/KamenRider Anti-Shocker Union]] and the [[Series/KamenRiderV3 Destron Hunters]], who are mostly consisting of youths (and law enforcement officers for the latter) who support their respective series' Riders against the evil organization they are fighting. The Outsiders are Kamen Rider villains from the Heisei and Reiwa eras gathered together by a NebulousEvilOrganization to prepare for war against [[TheComputerIsYourFriend a despotic artificial intelligence]] seeking world domination.
* EvilHero: The Outsiders function as this as the group is mostly composed of returning Kamen Rider villains gathered to form a resistance against Zein, as each individual Outsiders are {{Villain Protagonist}}s of their associated episodes.
* EvilMentor: Foundation X, the "Merchants of Death," are the ones spear-heading Project Outsiders. The Foundation has been built as a shadowy organization that's backed the projects of numerous Kamen Rider villains throughout the Phase 2 Heisei era.

* MeaningfulName: An "outsider" refers to an individual who does not belong to a particular group or isolated from society. This is fitting name for a group of villains who oppose the autocratic society that Zein seeks to impose to the world.
* NominalHero: Besides Gai Amatsu, Desast, Brain and (debatably) Kuroto Dan, the rest of the Outsiders are ObviouslyEvil and are only opposing Zein out of self-preservation. However, their victory over Zein will be a blessing in disguise for humanity in the long run, given that the heroes have seemingly thrown their lot in with Zein.

* TokenGoodTeammate: Among the candidates for Project Outsiders, only [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Gai]], [[DefectorFromDecadence Brain]] and [[TheRival Desast]] seem to have anything close to good intentions. [[MadScientist Banno]] and [[BloodKnight Asakura]] meanwhile are [[TokenEvilTeammate psychopaths at their core]]. [[AGodAmI Kuroto]] on the other hand is just as insane as the other two, but balances some goodwill with his evil.

* CurbStompBattle: Dishes one at Horobi upon ambushing him in episode 3, only for him to be at the receiving end of one courtesy of [[spoiler:[[BewareTheSuperman Kamen Rider Zein]]]], who defeated Banno into submission.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: For an irredeemable and vainglorious MadScientist with a God complex, Banno is apparently horrified by the idea of Zein planning to use a DeadlyGame as propaganda material for the public to draw out the Outsiders, using it as a false pretense of eliminating malice, that is using Ride Players as cannon fodder to ensure the extinction of humanity ''at a faster pace''. [[spoiler:This is especially ironic even for Banno given his end goal in ''Drive'' is to convert humans into data.]]

** Being the Outsider who is sent to confront Horobi, they even share some similarities. [[AbusiveParents Banno]] does not give a crap about his children, treating them and everyone else as lab experiments. Horobi, while amoral at his worst moments, at one point is emotionally abusive towards his son Jin earlier in his series, but later on comes to regret it.
** In an ironic twist, Banno finds one in Zein; although Banno is more of a [[LesserOfTwoEvils lesser evil]] compared to the latter. Both take form of Rider belts to hijack host bodies to assume their Rider forms, Banno is able to do so by reducing Roidmude 006 into a lifeless husk and use its body to transform into Gold Drive. Similarly, Zein puppeteers Yuto after being talked by Brain into pulling a HeelFaceTurn. Both even have an end goal of digitizing humans into data, Banno attempts to instigate a second Global Freeze and uses Sigma Circular to turn humans into data so he can give them robotic bodies and subservient to his delusions of godhood. While Zein plans to use ''Kamen Rider Chronicle'' to produce a cannon fodder of Ride Players to be used against the Outsiders, essentially tricking humanity into self-destruction, and getting a game over not only warrants a death sentence for players, but also get turned into data.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Brain and Banno start bickering with each other from second number one, while Ecole's report says the Foundation at-large sees Banno as "annoying."
* HumiliationConga: Getting subjected to a barbaric beatdown from Zein is enough to reduce Banno from an insufferable and vainglorious bully to a cowering wreck in just mere minutes before being turned into a human pincushion. Though Banno barely survived but the entire ordeal with Zein is far worse than his son dropping the axe on him.

* KarmicButtMonkey: Given how much of a [[HateSink horrible person]] he was back in his series and if getting axed by his own son wasn't enough, Banno gets [[SmallNameBigEgo ridiculed]] by Foundation X [[spoiler:and even by Horobi]], gets [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill beaten within an inch of his life and turned into a human pincushion]] by Zein, and [[TheDogBitesBack Brain slapping him silly while confined back in his tablet]]. It's safe to say that life is unfairly cruel to him, rightfully and deservingly so.
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler:He is sent to ambush Horobi for siding with Zein, only for him to be beaten into submission ''and'' sentenced to death by [[BewareTheSuperman Kamen Rider]] [[JudgeJuryAndExecutioner Zein]]. Subverted though, as he barely survived by storing his consciousness back inside Brain's tablet.]]

* {{Hypocrite}}: His EvenEvilHasStandards moment above could be seen as this. The fact he [[MoralMyopia freaks out]] on the idea of Zein using a DeadlyGame to hasten humanity's extinction by using unsuspecting players as cannon fodder and are consequently converted into data after getting a game over does not excuse Banno's own attempts to convert humans into data so he can give them robotic bodies and make them subservient to his delusions of godhood.
* MookHorrorShow: Getting beaten within an inch of his life by [[spoiler:Kamen Rider Zein]] was enough to scare Banno shitless to the point he attempts to get out of dodge, only to be skewered to death with [[Series/KamenRiderSaber Xross Saber]]'s FinishingMove.
* NotQuiteDead: Banno survives the brutal beatdown he got from Zein, this allowed him to connect from Brain's smartphone to Foundation X's network to warn the organization of Zein's end goal.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Banno's narcissism devolves from a malignant one to just pure foolishness, an indication that he's been a shadow of his former self following his revival. While he is still convinced at the superiority of his genius, everyone around him, including Foundation X are seemed to be annoyed by his antics.

* TokenEvilTeammate: Among the Outsiders, he's defined by his abusive, sadistic and vainglorious personality who is nevertheless convinced of the superiority of his own intellect.
* VillainsWantMercy: [[spoiler:He gets reduced to a whimpering mess after getting beaten into submission by Kamen Rider Zein. He desperately tries to make a bargain with Zein by swearing loyalty to the despotic artificial intelligence so that he will be spared. Only for his pleas to fall in deaf ears and gets executed on the spot anyway.]]

* AsLongAsThereIsEvil: The introduction of [[spoiler:Zein]] seeks to deconstruct this trope, giving Ark a good reason to fear its very presence and influence upon the world. The idea of another AI seeking to establish a TotalitarianUtilitarian utopia will essentially rob the Ark of the malice to sustain its own existence, weakening it and eventually may cease to exist.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Ark is visibly shocked after seeing Desast becoming a Kamen Rider in his own right; not taking into account that Desast chose to ScrewDestiny instead of playing along with its predictions.
* EvilCounterpart: To Zein. Zein is a supposedly BenevolentAI [[spoiler:with a [[DarkMessiah messiah complex]]]] that seeks to study human benevolence, whereas Ark is an AI corrupted by human malice. Ark seeks nothing more but to [[OmnicidalManiac wipe out all life on Earth]], while Zein seeks to establish a [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans utopia of eternal peace and order]]. [[spoiler:On the other hand, Zein's benevolence is further put into question as it becomes [[TheComputerIsYourFriend more despotic]] in its stance against human malice, to the point [[OrderIsNotGood its methods]] are becoming [[BewareTheSuperman more logically extreme]] as it starts to be [[HeWhoFightsMonsters becoming no better]] than Ark's genocidal tendencies]]. This still sticks after episode 4 once Zein is revealed to be EvilAllAlong.
* EvilVersusEvil: With the authoritarian A.I. Zein, who seeks to subjugate humanity in order to establish a new world order. This still sticks following TheReveal at the end of episode 4.

* HazyFeelTurn: The introduction of Zein seemingly swayed Ark to the side of good, but still remains unscrupulous in its worst moments.

* OrderVersusChaos: Order Versus Malice to be more precise. Ark is the malice incarnate, opposing the BenevolentAI [[KnightTemplar Zein]], who seeks to restore order to the world and its [[OrderIsNotGood idea of doing]] so is taken [[spoiler:to a [[BewareTheSuperman more]] [[JudgeJuryAndExecutioner logical]] [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans extreme]]]].

* VillainHasAPoint: When possessing Horobi again in episode 4 Ark takes its time mocking Horobi being a complete fool for blindly following Zein's ideals. While it's not done in a KickTheDog manner, this is to show that Ark is proven right that all of Zein's benevolent pretenses are [[EvilAllAlong nothing but smoke and mirrors]].
