* SelfImposedChallenge: To the USA player. Electing Olson, Garner, or Landon as President averts the PSA's secession, thus making it easier to concentrate forces against the AUS and CSA as well as giving you access to their resources, factories, and manpower. Electing Reed or Long, however, forces the Federal player to fight another faction and deprives them of the Pacific States' resources.

* MultipleEndings: Russia is one of the few, if not, the only, nation that can take every possible path for a nation. You can be liberal democratic, an oligarchal democracy, a constitutional or absolute monarchy, a military dictatorship, fascist, democratic or popular front socialist and outright bring back the USSR. And then there are all the different leaders bringing in their own flavors to what was listed.
** Ironically, the only path Russia does NOT seem to be capable of is Stalin style Totalitarian Socialism, as its Totalists are Tukhachevsky's Trotskyists that are (relatively) benevolent domestically.

* MightyWhitey: Ungern, in spite of being a [[GermanRussians German Russian]], managed to secure independent Mongolia from the foreign threat and rules his new country with an iron fist.

* AllThereInTheManual: She has yet to officially appear in the mod. Fans are mostly aware of her through research of the royal family.

* {{Kaiserreich}}: With the victory in the First World War, the German Empire continued instead of becoming a republic and later a fascist dictatorship. And if they win the Second Weltkrieg this can continue indefinitely.

* AssassinOutclassin: Huey Long can survive as many as three assassination attempts. First, before the game begins, Huey Long survives his historical assassination. Second, Olson and [=MacArthur=] can have Long assassinated, but this too can fail (the success or failure is determined by the USA player). Third, if the AUS wins the Second American Civil War, Pelley will attempt to have Long assassinated so that he can seize power, and this too can fail (success is determined by the AUS player).

** There is also that many in the CSA -- including Reed himself -- ''are'' willing to compromise (accepting relatively limited Social Democratic reforms if they fail to win the presidency, and potentially excepting industries from their nationalization programme to accommodate regions like California if Reed wins the election), with it being other factions that screw it up (Long escalates matters to a civil war if Olson doesn't assassinate him, Garner isn't willing to negotiate, and [=MacArthur=] coups the US no matter how moderate a Reed presidency goes).

* TheResenter: Besides their hatred of the Internationale, Canada and the rest of the Entente refuse to trade with South Africa at the start due to the Boers leaving the Empire, unless they choose to reach out for help following Black Monday or the Dominionist Party comes to power, dislike Ireland (unless the Irish decide to align with them) for similar reasons (especially because they took over Ulster), and they do their best to minimise trade with Germany, still being understandably bitter about losing the Weltkrieg. That last one ends up working in their favour, as the nations of the Entente end up being completely unaffected by Black Monday.

* OneNationUnderCopyright: Prior to 0.8, the PSA was dominated by MegaCorps who wanted to preserve their profits.
