He generally gets along best with Petra when he's about to stab her in the back.

The trauma hit her pretty hard, and she seems to have developped a sort of survival mentality since. Not to mention that even during her marriage to Rafael, she has had to contend with both a miscarriage and his cancer, only to see him fall out of love with her (he secretely planed on leaving her even before he knew she'd done anything wrong).
* GoldDigger: (Seemingly) married Rafael for his money, although she seemed to have been genuinely in love with him at some point, and her feelings for him resurface a couple of times over the course of the show.
