!!Izetta
!!!Voiced by: Creator/HimikaAkaneya (Japanese), Skyler [=McIntosh=] (English)

Also known as "the White Witch." She is a fifteen year old girl who is the last in a bloodline of witches, and is said to be the most powerful in generations. When she was a child, she lived as a nomad, travelling around different countries with her grandmother in order to keep her powers a secret. In one of those travels she met Finé who became her first friend. She has the power to manipulate whatever she touches, and has been generally seen manipulating a giant rifle to fly.
----
* AFriendInNeed: Knowing Princess Finé is in danger is enough to spring Izetta into action.
* ActionGirl: The moment she wakes up from being a HumanPopsicle she blows up half the plane with her abilities.
* Adorkable: As shown in the second episode, Izetta tends to get like this whenever she interacts with Princess Finé or shows her devotion, such as when Izetta refuses to eat while Princess Finé is unconscious and her stomach growls causing her to blush uncontrollably.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Izetta's devotion to Princess Finé seems to go beyond mere friendship. Not to mention, she has blushed more than a few times when interacting with Princess Finé both as children and in the present. Becomes far less ambiguous as the series progresses, especially in Episode 7 when she outright states she loves the Archduchess. The events of Episode 11 really push the boundaries between "ambiguous" and "text."
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Subverted in episode 3. She got swords to fight tanks but they couldn't penetrate their armor.
** Played straight in episode 5. This time Izetta used lances and they did the job just fine. Justified as said lances have roughly three times the mass of, and were moving roughly twice as fast as, the swords, giving them, by virtue of energy = mass x velocity squared, about ten times the power of the swords.
* ArmorPiercingSlap: She surprisingly slapped Finé in Episode 11 to get her out of her funk and not to surrender.
* BadassAdorable: She doesn't stop being Adorkable adorkable even in the midst of dishing out pain against the Germanian army.
* BadassInDistress: Episode 9 ends with the clone of the Witch Sophie using a crystal to nullify Izetta's powers and chaining her up. Thankfully, Hann and his men are able to save her
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: The reason for Izetta's devotion to Finé; she was the first person Izetta met who didn't think magic was terrifying (partly because she was young and naive). Izetta has frequent flashbacks to the time that Finé defended her from an angry mob.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: While she does not want to harm people, she will do what is necessary to protect those she loves.
* BFG: She wields a PTRS-41 longer than she is tall, not to mention that it weighs about 20 kilos.
** Intro shows her wielding an even more massive gun (partially based upon the Lahti L-39) specially modified so that she can properly wield it as a broom.
* BigDamnHeroes: She is this to the Eylstadt forces in Episode 3, especially Jonas.
* BigGood: She shares this role with Finé.
* BloodMagic: Izetta has the power to control whatever she touches, but she can use her blood as a proxy to extend the range of this power.
* BodyguardCrush: Possibly has one for Finé.
* BornInTheWrongCentury: Her grandmother warned Izetta that her power is too great for the era they live in now.
* BreakTheCutie: Izetta's backstory involves this until she befriended Princess Finé.
* BridalCarry: It is practically a running gag that Izetta will carry Finé in this fashion at various times throughout the series.
** Izetta carries Finé this way after catching her in the air, while flying on a rifle at the end of Episode 1.
** Izetta continues to carry Finé this way during the first half of Episode 2.
** At the end of Episode 3, Izetta carries Finé this way in the aftermath of the battle.
** During Finé's coronation in Episode 5, she has Izetta carry her like this in front of reporters to demonstrate Izetta's abilities.
** In Episode 11, she carried Finé in this fashion for a romantic ride on her broomstick.
* BroughtDownToNormal: Her magical abilities do not originate from within her body but rather from the magical energy that exists outside. If she's in a region without ley lines, she can't access any of her magical abilities.
* CastFromHitPoints: Much to Finé and Bianca's horror, the Magic Stone will most likely have this affect on Izetta, especially if she overuses it.
* CharacterDevelopment: Subtle. When Izetta is first introduced, she constantly goes through HeroicSelfDeprecation, such as saying she is not worthy of the Princess' gratitude and she is very nervous speaking to new people in Episode 4. Later on in the series, she still has some self worth issues, but they have lessened. She becomes more assertive when it comes to making decisions, and she doesn't feel as nervous when speaking with new people as shown in her interactions with Lord Redford and Gromon in Episode 7.
** In Episode 11, she becomes bold enough to slap Finé when she is about to pass the DespairEventHorizon, and she convinces her not give up.
* ChildSoldier: Episode 10 reveals that Izetta is only fifteen years old, and she has been fighting on the frontlines for Elystadt regardless.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Princess Finé
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Izetta has red hair and red eyes.
* CuteWitch: Both as a child and in the present day.
* DeclarationOfProtection: Episode 2 ends with Izetta promising to protect Princess Finé's country.
* Determinator: Izetta refuses to give up on a fight. As seen in Episode 10, she refuses to give up fighting despite her injuries. This is deconstructed due to how Finé can see how Izetta will keep fighting for her sake which further causes Finé to blame herself for Izetta's condition.
* TheDrifter: Izetta and her grandmother used to travel as nomads from town to town without staying very long due to Izetta having difficulty controlling her powers.
* DidTheyOrDidntThey: With Finé in Episode 11.
* DisappearedDad: No mention of Izetta's father has been made.
* DistractedByTheSexy: During Episode 7, Izetta has a difficult time concentrating on the map of the ley lines while Finé is brushing her hair in front of her.
* DoesNotLikeShoes: Her childhood scenes consistently depict her as being barefoot. The official promotional artwork depicts her as wearing boots that leave her toes bare (a la the cast of Franchise/Naruto) rather than regular shoes.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Almost the entirety of episode 2.
* FakeUltimateHero: Zig-zagged. While she is extremely powerful and can handle battalions of troops on her own, it depends on whether or not there are ley lines she can utilize magical energy otherwise she is BroughtDownToNormal. In Episode 5, when the Germanian forces attack in an area Izetta can't utilize her abilities, she works with Finé's inner circle to pull off a bluff. Rather than using a lookalike, Izetta chooses to go to the front line personally and puts her life on the line rather than letting someone else risk theirs.
* FashionableAsymmetry: Izetta's normal outfit outside of battle has this with her legs.
* FlyingBroomstick: Or rather, boomstick. Izetta eschews the traditional broom for a BFG anti-tank rifle to fly into battle. When she was a child, she did attempt using a broomstick to practice her abilities of flight. In Episode 3 she also uses a medieval jousting lance to fly.
* FirstNameBasis: Izetta finally drops the "Hime-sama" and starts calling Finé by her given name in episode 11. This makes Finé extremely happy and she demands that Izetta keep calling her that way from then on.
* ForcefulKiss: She is on the receiving end of this by Berkman's experiment in Episode 8, so she can obtain a blood sample from Izetta which triggers her.
* FriendlessBackground: Prior to meeting Princess Finé, she had no one to call a friend.
* GagBoobs: Her rather large assets are often pointed out in comic situations, such as when Lotte can't close one of Finé's corsets around Izetta's chest.
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: Izetta slaps some sense into Finé during Episode 11, and she convinces Finé not to give up.
* GirlInABox: Izetta was, apparently, captured by Germanians and sealed in a steampunk SuspendedAnimation chamber.
* HealingFactor: Subverted. Izetta's magic doesn't allow her to heal things. Play straight since the Magic Stone seems to have given her back her ability to walk and fight at the cost of causing her pain and potentially drain her lifespan.
* HeldGaze: With Finé during Episode 7.
* TheHero: Shares this title with Finé.
* HeroicRematch: She prepares to engage in one with Sophie in Episode 11 due to being able to fight her on more even terms now.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: She grew up isolated and self-loathing, leading to some serious self-esteem issues. Even after saving Princess Finé she still feels worthless. She goes as far as to say she is not worthy of being Princess Finé's friend.
* HoldingHands: She holds Finé's hand in various promotional artwork as well as the opening and closing theme. At the end of Episode 4, she walks hand in hand with Finé on the way to Finé's coronation, and they hold hands again during Finé's coronation in the following episode. And episode 7 has them lie hand in hand on the same bed, with a rather long HeldGaze.
* HomoeroticSubtext: Izetta herself Lampshades the implications of Finé and her sharing room and bed in episode 7.
** A few scenes later, when a Britanian pilot asks her if she's close to Finé, and Izetta answers that she loves her, there's a cut of the bomber crew pondering her answer in Beat awkward silence before politely changing the issue to how "is nice to have someone to protect".
** In Episode 8, the "subtext" part has become suspect when the story of the Prince and the White Witch (whom were StarCrossedLovers) was revealed. The Prince and the White Witch in the story parallels Finé and Izetta, respectively. It further becomes suspect when Finé cross dresses as a prince and has Izetta dress up as a princess for the party along with asking her to dance.
** In Episode 11, the broom ride between Izetta and Finé seems to heavily imply that they're beyond mere "subtext" at this point.
* HopeBringer: Shares this role with Finé. Elystadt finally believed they had a chance of winning the war, and they even had temporary peace for a few months because of Izetta's efforts. This made her defeat after Sophie's stone renders her powerless all the more devastating.
* HotWitch: Still a CuteWitch as well, but she has an ample bust and a nice figure that her clothing tends to emphasize.
* HumanPopsicle: Izetta was kept in stasis.
* ICanStillFight: She declares this both in Episode 10 and 11. This proves to be more true in the latter episode thanks to the Magic Stone.
* ICantDance: Izetta can't dance to save her life, and she knows it. In episode 6 Elvira had her practice with Bianca as partner. Izetta warned them that it wasn't a good idea but Elvira insisted. Poor Bianca's feet will never forget the painful experience.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: She used to be this before meeting Princess Finé. She stated that she started to like herself and her abilities a little thanks to their friendship.
* IOweYouMyLife: Izetta acknowledges multiple times that Princess Finé saved her life when they were children.
* IdiotsCannotCatchColds: Subverted. She caught a cold for the first time in episode 8. She said she has never had a cold in her whole life before.
* ItsAllMyFault: The poor girl constantly blames herself for the wound Princess Finé was inflicted with when she defended Izetta from a mob.
* ItIsDehumanizing: In Episode 4, Fine's advisors refer to Izetta as a weapon. The Germanians refer to Izetta as a 'specimen.'
* JumpedAtTheCall: Even though it goes against her grandmother's wishes, Izetta doesn't hesitate to join in the fight to protect Eylstadt because it is her friend's country despite Princess Finé wanting Izetta to run and save herself.
* KissingDiscretionShot: It is highly implied she and Finé kissed in Episode 11.
* LastOfHerKind: Izetta is the last witch in the world as indicated by the title. A flashback scene with her grandmother sadly confirmed to Izetta the other witches were probably dead, and she will be the last.
* LeyLine: Izetta's power originates from the ley lines across the land. As such, there are places where she can use her powers and places where she can't.
* LightIsGood: She wears a white battle outfit to represent herself as the 'White Witch of Elystadt' and she is one of the nicest people you could ever meet.
* MarkedToDie: In Episode 8, the Ambassador of the United States of Atlanta considers Izetta to potentially be a greater threat than Germania. He all but states she needs to be eliminated just as much as Germania due to the potential threat she holds.
* MessianicArchetype: Izetta seems to be heading in this direction after being declared the SecondComing of the White Witch, the legendary savior of Eylstadt.
* MissingMom: The fate of her mother is currently unknown, but she is presumably dead.
* ModestyShorts: Wears these under her oversized army coat in Episodes 2 and 3.
* NiceGirl: She is extremely kind, to the point she tries to minimise casualties among her enemies when she fights, and shows obvious regret for the ones she had to kill.
* TheOathBreaker: Justified example. She made a promise to her grandmother that she had to break to save Finé.
* OneWomanArmy: Thanks to her magic, Izetta can stand against an entire army… and win.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: According to Izetta's grandmother, Izetta's power is greater than any witch in generations.
* PowerIncontinence: When Izetta was younger, she had difficulty controlling her power at times which is why she and her grandmother had to travel a lot. This was showcased in Episode 4 when she was cornered by villagers, and it was taking everything she had to prevent her power from going out of control.
* ProtagonistTitle: Obviously, she's the eponymous character of the show.
* RedIsHeroic: She has matching red eyes and hair, and she is one of the heroes of this story.
* ReluctantFanserviceGirl: The universe conspires to make Izetta the main target of almost every lewd situation in the show.
* RomanticTwoGirlFriendship: With Princess Finé.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: She is willing to break the promise she made to her grandmother for the sake of helping Finé. And despite Finé telling her not to fight, she does it anyway, after seeing how distraught her friend was when hearing about how bad Eylstadt's situation was, particularly the soldiers doing a LastStand at Coenenberg. Izetta jumps into the fight on her own, and manages to deliver a CurbStompBattle to the Germanian forces.
* SecondComing: Finé declares her the Second Coming of the White Witch.
* SheCleansUpNicely: Izetta was originally a nomad living in poverty and never was particularly concerned for her appearance. Clean her up properly and put her in an elegant party dress, however, and she looks just like a fairytale princess.
* ShipTease: With Princess Finé. The devotion she has shown to the Princess has caught some people's attention.
* ShrinkingViolet: Despite being one of the most powerful witches in history, she's painfully shy and introverted in daily life. She only becomes assertive in the battlefield.
* ShutUpHannibal: tries to give her a BreakingSpeech regarding her devotion to Finé, but Izetta refuses to listen to her.
* StormOfBlades: She uses her magic to perform one against the Germanian army in Episode 3.
* TheseHandsHaveKilled: Immediately after she uses her magic against the Germanian fighter planes and watches them crash in the second episode, Izetta regretfully laments that the pilots are dead. In the third episode, while she destroys planes and tanks, she noticeably attempts to avoid killing the foot soldiers and chooses to pin them down.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: When Izetta is not fighting, she tends to be a girly girl in comparison to Finé. This is emphasized when Finé has Izetta dress up as a princess while she dresses up as a Prince at a party in Episode 8.
* UndyingLoyalty: Zig-zagged. She is loyal to Princess Finé, but she follows her heart first and foremost and would go against Finé's wishes if she feels it's necessary.
* WhoWearsShortShorts: Izetta wears them in Episode 2 and 3. Justified due to Eylstadt forces not having a lot of clothing to lend her, and it was a better option than wearing the hospital gown.
* WigDressAccent: Bordering in PaperThinDisguise, as she uses a simple pair of Clark Kent glasses (literally: the same model) when on a pie run.
* WomanInWhite: Her battle outfit is entirely white.
* WorfHadTheFlu: In Episode 9, Sophie uses a magic stone to nullify Izetta's ability to use magic which leaves her vulnerable. The injuries she suffers renders her temporarily unable to fight as seen in Episode 10.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: She has red hair, which stands out because everyone else has plausible hair colors.

!!Ortfiné Fredericka von Eylstadt (Finé)
!!!Voiced by: Creator/SaoriHayami (Japanese), Mallorie Rodak (English)

A childhood friend of Izetta and the Princess of the small duchy of Eylstadt, she leaves her country to meet a representative of the Allies in the neighbor Westria, but is captured by Germania, before being rescued by Izetta. She becomes the Archduchess of the country soon after.
----
* ACupAngst: While Finé is bigger than an A-Cup, she she seems a little jealous of how Izetta, Bianca, and Elvira have larger breasts than her.
* ActionGirl: First downplayed when she doesn't hesitate to disarm a soldier when she has the opportunity, then subverted when she's shot before she can turn off the gun's safety.
* AbsoluteCleavage: The purple dress that Finé borrows in the first episode has a rather large translucent V-shaped region in the front.
* AllForNothing: Finé has wished to accomplish two goals. Protect her country Eylstadt and make sure Izetta can survive. In Episode 8, the United States of Atlanta plans on fighting both Germania and Eylstadt rather than fighting alongside them as allies, and they plan on eliminating Izetta.
* AmbiguousSituation: After the fall of the capital of Eylstadt in Episode 9, it is unknown if she was captured or managed to escape.
* AmbiguouslyGay: Her affection towards Izetta seems to be far greater than merely as a friend. It is notable that she dreamed of her first meeting with Izetta and thought of her several times prior to potentially offering herself up for a political marriage. She even refers to Izetta as her 'partner' during the party in Episode 8, and she didn't even consider dancing with anyone else.
* ArrangedMarriage: Subverted. Prior to the beginning of the series, she rejected the Prince Henry's offer. Due to the oncoming Germanian invasion, she decides to change her mind for the sake of her people. However, the offer falls flat when it turns out the invasion has already begun.
* AwesomeMomentOfCrowning: Following the death of her father, she is coronated as the new Archduchess and also uses the occasion to reveal Izetta and her magic to the world.
* BadassNormal: Episode 1 proved that she is capable of some badassness without the need of magic.
* BadassPrincess: She may look like a frail young girl, but in episode 1 she proves to be surprisingly competent at using her intelligence and good old action skills to escape from a train filled with Germanian soldiers.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Princess Fine is respected and well-loved as a kind and caring princess in Eylstadt, but she is capable of self-defense and will not back down into surrender.
** In Episode 4, especially in the English dub, she chastises her advisors when they refer to Izetta as a weapon.
** In Episode 8, she is not pleased when she witnesses Berkman's experiment give Izetta a forceful kiss which causes Izetta to bleed. While she was somewhat courteous to Berkman beforehand, she becomes downright hostile towards him afterwards.
* BigGood: After her coronation as the Archduchess of Eylstadt, she shares this role with Izetta.
* CasualDangerDialog: While they are being chased by Germanian fighters in the second episode, Princess Finé comments on how she never imagined her dream of being able to fly with Izetta would come true like this.
* CharacterTitle: Finé's name is used in the Eleventh Episode of the series.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Izetta
* ChildrenAreInnocent: She was not afraid of Izetta when they were children partly because of this. She immediately believed Izetta was a good witch, and she was right.
* CompressedHair: She keeps her waist-length hair in her headscarf when donning her civilian disguise.
* ConsummateLiar: While Finé is generally a honest person, she is capable of being this for political purposes as demonstrated in Episode 1 when she convincingly lied to Lord Redford about her father's condition.
* Crossdresser: During a party in Episode 8, she dresses up as a Prince while she has Izetta dress up as a Princess.
* DamselInDistress: Zig-zagged. While she understandably cooperates with her captors because they have a gun to her head, they killed her remaining bodyguard, and she can't best them physically, she takes the first opportunity she has to attack and disarm one of her captors.
* DefiantToTheEnd: While Princess Finé does not die in first episode, she shows she is willing to be defiant till the end for the sake of her people since she had no way of knowing Izetta would awaken and save her.
* Deuteragonist: While Izetta is the title character and the main focus of the opening, Finé clearly shares the spotlight in the story. The series is just as much about her struggles as about Izetta's background, and more generally about the two's friendship/romance.
* DespairEventHorizon: Subverted. During Episodes 10 and 11, Finé appeared to be crossing that, but a slap from Izetta in Episode 11 convinces her not to give up.
* TheDeterminator: She refuses to back down and or surrender even if Germanian soldiers tries to capture or shoot her. While she almost gives up in Episodes 10 and 11, Izetta slaps some sense into her.
* DidTheyOrDidntThey: With Izetta in Episode 11.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: The entirety of Episode 1.
* GoThroughMe: As indicated in Izetta's flashback, Princess Finé protected her from villagers and was wounded in the process.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Finé was hoping that having Izetta display her power to the allies would get them motivated to help them fight the Germanians. In Episode 8, she and Izetta are successful in getting the allies to oppose Germania. What they don't know is that the United States of Atlanta considers Izetta to be as great of a threat to them as the Germanians and more or less plans to kill Izetta.
* GoodIsNotSoft: When Finé is angry, especially when it comes to mistreating Izetta or fighting for her country, she makes herself very clear. She is even willing to shoot her enemies herself as showcased in Episodes 1 and 2.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: Finé has a scar on her left side that she received when she protected Izetta as a child and a bullet wound when she attempted to fight back against the Germanians.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: She cares about others before herself.
* HeadbuttThermometer: Uses this method when she is caring for Izetta while she is sick in Episode 8.
* HeldGaze: With Izetta during Episode 7.
* TheHero: Shares this title with Izetta.
* HeroesLoveDogs: She had an adorable corgi named Dorothée as a pet when she was a child.
* HeroesWantRedHeads: Finé offers to marry a foreign prince for political reasons, but as soon as FieryRedhead Izetta shows up, it becomes clear that she has no romantic interest in anyone else. Partly an inversion, as this is also the first time that Finé gets rescued instead of taking matters into her own hands.
* TheHighQueen: She becomes this in Episode 5, after her father succumbs to his illness. And she definitely has the dignity and charisma to hold the position.
* HoldingHands: She holds Izetta's hand in various promotional artwork as well as the opening and closing theme. At the end of Episode 4, she walks hand in hand with Izetta on her way to her coronation and again during the said coronation in Episode 5. She holds Izetta's hand while sharing a bed with her during Episode 7.
* HomoeroticSubtext: The obvious affection she shows towards Izetta is subject to this, especially in Episode 7. In Episode 8, the "subtext" part becomes very suspect considering many parallels are made between their relationship and the Legend of the White Witch (where the two protagonists are StarCrossedLovers).
** Bianca gets angry at the DarkerAndEdgier version of the tale because it reminds her of Izetta and Finé.
** Then in Episode 11, it's heavily implied that "subtext" might not be the correct word to describe the relationship between Izetta and Finé.
* HopeBringer: She shares this role with Izetta.
* IRegretNothing: Princess Finé clearly does not regret defending Izetta when they were children despite the injury she received.
* ItsAllMyFault: She blames herself for Izetta's condition in Episode 10. She admits she was too arrogant due to Izetta's previous victories when she should have been more cautious. She breaks down upon seeing Izetta refusing to give up for her sake.
* KissingDiscretionShot: It is highly implied she and Izetta kissed in Episode 11.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: She is this to Izetta. Izetta admitted to herself she used to be lonely and hated herself before becoming friends.
* TheLoad: Zig-zagged. Justified in the second episode due to her being shot and not having any magic powers to help Izetta, so she needs to rely on Izetta to escort her. However, when Izetta's power is running out, it is Princess Finé's idea to use the gun they are flying on, and she fires it at the Germanian fighter plane herself.
* MissingMom: While it is known her father is sick, the status of her mother is unknown.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: In Episode 10, she breaks down upon seeing Izetta's condition which she greatly blames herself for. When she sees that Izetta refuses to stop fighting for her sake, Finé has a breakdown.
* NiceGirl: It's why she is well-respected among her people. That doesn't mean she's weak though.
** During the second episode rather than recruiting Izetta to help her country repel the Germanian invasion, she tells her friend to escape.
* NiceToTheWaiter: She is kind to all her subjects as well as officials from other countries.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: Princess Finé protected Izetta from a literal witch hunt and was wounded in the process, but she doesn't regret defending her friend.
* OnlyAFleshWound: Princess Finé is shot through the right arm towards the end of the first episode and nearly dies from the injury during the second.
* OnlyFriend: To Izetta.
* PaperThinDisguise: She would often sneak out of the castle with only a headscarf to conceal her identity to visit a cafe as she loves the pies there. But it turns out the cafe's owners and the royal guard knew about it all along.
* RecognitionFailure: She does not recognize Berkman during Episode 8. However, this is justified because they only briefly met once during the first episode which happened weeks or months ago along with the fact he was wearing a mask during their second meeting. The said first meeting was cut short by a train tunnel darkening the train and Finé being more focused on escaping rather than having a conversation.
* RomanticTwoGirlFriendship: With Izetta.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Princess Finé is willing to do what she needs to do to save her country and people.
* ScarsAreForever: She stills bears the scar she got as a child when facing angry farmers.
* ShipTease: With Izetta. The first scene is Princess Finé dreaming of her first meeting with Izetta, and when she sees Izetta awaken, she refers to Izetta as "My White Witch."
* ShowerOfAngst: She takes one after Tobias dies, but refuses to let her determination waver nonetheless.
* SpannerInTheWorks: She's this to Germania. Due to her partially opening the capsule Izetta is being held in, it causes Izetta to be partially awakened. That results in the Germanians being forced to transport Izetta on a plane. After they capture Princess Fine shortly after, they make the mistake of transporting both girls in the same plane. Izetta's partial awakening causes difficulties with the plane which results in Princess Fine being shot and coming into Izetta's view. Upon hearing and seeing Princess Fine, Izetta awakens and the Germanians' plans are completely derailed.
* StepfordSmiler: As seen in the first episode, she puts up a convincing smile when conducing negotiations with Lord Redford as she lies about the status of her father's health.
* SweetPollyOliver: She dresses as a prince for a costume party. (In which she dresses Izetta as a princess, no less). One of the other party guests even questions if she is a girl.
* SweetTooth: She has a weakness for pies.
* TakingTheBullet: Or rather the pitchfork. It is a nonfatal version with Finé taking a blow meant for Izetta from an angry mob.
* TearsOfJoy: During Episode 3, she cries them after Izetta manages to survive the battle while calling her a fool and thanking her for saving her people.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Outside of combat, Finé is the tomboy. This is emphasized when Finé has Izetta dress up as a princess while she dresses up as a Prince at a party in Episode 8.
* TomboyPrincess: Though she comes off as a GirlyGirl despite her BadassPrincess status to modern audiences, she is a tomboy by 1940s standards. She does have graceful feminine manners, but she doesn't hesitate to jump into action or resort to violence if needed. She also looks dashing as a prince (see SweetPollyOliver above).
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Despite her being known as a tomboy, she has a girly love for pies and sweets.
* TomboyishPonytail: Finé wears her hair like this in Episode 8 when she dresses as a Prince for the party.
* WhatTheHellTownspeople: As a child, Finé gives an angry mob that attempted to lynch Izetta a piece of her mind.
* YouAreInCommandNow: With her father's death, Finé becomes the new Archduchess.

!! The Principality of Eylstadt

!!!Voiced by: Creator/ToshiyukiMorikawa

He is Princess Finé's father who is currently suffering a currently unknown disease. He appears to know something about the legend of the White Witch.
----
* AdultFear: He is clearly worried about Finé when there is no news about her whereabouts.
* DidntSeeThatComing: He admits he did not expect Germania's tactics despite his best preparations.
* DiedHappilyEverAfter: He dies knowing that his daughter is alive and his country might have a chance of surviving against the Germanian forces.
* Foreshadowing: His belief the White Witch wouldn't wish to help Elystadt even if she came back foreshadows the darker true version of legend.
* GoodParents: While we never see him interact with his daughter on screen, he clearly was worried for her safety.
* IncurableCoughOfDeath: Suffers from this.
* KingOnHisDeathbed: For the first few episodes. After he passes away, Finé takes on the role of Archduchess
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Despite his condition, he is attempting to do what he can to protect his people.
* SecondEpisodeIntroduction: He is mentioned a few times in the first episode, but he doesn't make his debut until the second.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He seems to succumb to his disease at the end of Episode 3.

!!!Voiced by: Creator/AyaUchida (Japanese), Madeleine Morris (English)

Leader of the Imperial Guard and proud to be Princess Finé's bodyguard.
----

* ActionGirl: Episode 8 makes it clear she is capable of fighting.
* BerserkButton: Do NOT badmouth Finé, Izetta, their friendship, and/or the White Witch legend their relationship is based upon, in front of her. Ever.
* BodyguardBabes: The Imperial Guard she leads is largely, if not entirely composed of women.
* BodyguardCrush: Downplayed, but she's bribed into helping teach Izetta to dance with the offer of also dancing with Finé.
* TheCameo: She has no lines during her first appearance.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Episode 8 gives her more screentime than in previous episodes.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: She inadvertently makes it easier for Rickert to accomplish his task.
* NotSoDifferent: She and Rickert both wish to serve their countries to the best of their abilities.
* ProperlyParanoid: While she is wrong about Izetta, her suspicions of her are not without merit since she doesn't know her and didn't know much about her. It wasn't until Izetta tells Bianca her story that Bianca accepts her as an ally.
* SecondEpisodeIntroduction: She makes her debut in the second episode of the series during the conference with the Archduke.
* ShipTease: She has a little bit with Rickert until she ends up needing to kill him for being a Germanian spy.
* ShipperOnDeck: She becomes very enraged at the mere mention that the original White Witch and the Prince story, and for extension Izetta and Fine's, might have a DarkerAndEdgier version. Lotte even states it's because she is an InUniverse Fangirl of them.
* TheseHandsHaveKilled: Her reaction seems be to an indication of this when she shoots Rickert.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Despite her aloof personality, Lotte notes that she is quite the maiden at heart, especially shown in how much she loves the romantic fairy tale of the White Witch and the prince of Eylstadt.

!!!Voiced by: Creator/HirokiTakahashi (Japanese), Christopher Wehkamp (English)

Aide to the Archduke of Eylstadt. He has a great deal of interest in the legend of the White Witch.
----

* ApologeticAttacker: He apologizes to Jonas right before he executes him.
* DarkIsEvil: His dark appearance and CreepyMonotone are dead giveaways that he is going to be the most morally questionable character in the Eylstadt high command.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Unlike Berkman, he feels very guilty of executing his own soldier to protect Izetta's secret. In Episode 11, he is disgusted by Berkman's willingness to betray his own country and how he has no loyalty to it which causes him to punch Berkman.
* Foil: To Major Berkman. Both are questionable characters willing to "do what is needed" for their cause, including . However, Berkman does it easily, as a spot decision, without apparent regret, and actually smiling, while Sieg does it after reaching the conclusion that it needs to be done, makes a token effort to explain and justify his action to and apologizes to him, and is shown being troubled inside for his own action afterwards.
* HonestAdvisor: Zig-zagged. While he does engage in morally questionable activities, he is loyal to the royal family and does give legitimate advice and strategy on what to do against the Germanians.
* KnightTemplar: He states 'all is fair in war,' and he believes what he does is necessary to protect the country even if he has to do morally questionable things. Executing Jonas in order to protect Izetta's secret being among them.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Episode 8 indicates he shows regret for executing Jonas.
* NotSoDifferent: Episode 6 makes it clear he has quite a bit in common with Berkman.
* NotSoSimilar: Episode 11 has Seig tell Berkman that they have some differences
* NotSoStoic: While his stoicism has some cracks throughout the series following his execution of Jonas, Episode 11 has Seig's stoicism really crack between how he looks when he gives Izetta half the magic stone and his conversation with Berkman. Unlike Berkman, Seig is loyal and devoted to his country while Berkman's only loyalty is to himself.
* SecondEpisodeIntroduction: He makes his debut in the second episode of the series during the conference with the Archduke.
* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: He bluntly tells General Schneider and Elvira on separate occasions that winning a war is not simple.
* TheStoic: He does not appear to express a wide range of emotions based on his appearances so far.
* TheSpymaster: In addition to being TheStrategist, he's in charge of the intelligence activity in Eylstadt.
* TheStrategist: The primary tactician in Eylstadt's war effort. He also planned out the operation to trick the Germanian forces into thinking they were attacked by Izetta in a region where she can't use her magic.
* TokenEvilTeammate: He is more willing to engage in morally questionable acts than the rest of the cast in order to defend Eylstadt.
* UndyingLoyalty: To the country and royal family of Eylsadt.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He is willing to kill an Eylsadt soldier to prevent information leaks.

General of Eylstadt's army.
----

* ArmchairMilitary: Being a General, he spends most of his time in the Royal Palace and is almost completely disconnected from how bad the situation actually is on the ground. Averted in Episode 5 where he takes to the front lines to oversee the battle at Veile Pass.
* TheIdealist: Due to how disconnected he is from the reality of the war, he is overly optimistic of Eylstadt's chances of winning due to the Germanians tactics causing a rise in morale in the soldiers.
* ManlyTears: After the death of Archduke.
* SecondEpisodeIntroduction: He makes his debut in the second episode of the series during the meeting with the Archduke.

* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: She doesn't seem too fazed when she proceeds to take the clothes off from a girl she doesen't even know.
* ThePollyanna: By Finé's encouragement, she keeps a sunny disposition even in harsh conditions.
* TokenMiniMoe: She's cheerful, clumsy… and also really tiny, for extra cuteness points.

* BunnyEarsLawyer: Gleefully gropes not just Izetta, but Finé, the future Archduchess. She gets away with it, though, because she really knows her stuff and because of the RuleOfFunny.
* TheMentor: She is the Princess' head tutor. Add in SexyMentor due to the above.

* ExactEavesDropping: He had the misfortune of overhearing a conversation between Sieg and General Schneider regarding Izetta's weakness.
* Fanboy: Becomes one for Izetta after seeing her in action.
* FatalFamilyPhoto: Subverted, He's seen looking at a picture of his family in his introductory episode, but survives the following battle thanks to Izetta's intervention. DoubleSubverted, when he drops his photo in a river and inadvertently overhears something he wasn't supposed to, ultimately costing him his life.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: He is executed by Sieg because he knew Izetta's secret.
* MauveShirt: Died after three episodes of characterization.

* FamousLastWords: Asking Princess Finé to save their country.
* InstantDeathBullet: Averted. He is shot in the stomach by Berkman, and it takes a while before he finally succumbs to this wound when he and the others are unable to provide him with appropriate medical treatment.
* ShooOutTheClowns: While he is serious about his job, he gives off the impression he is more happy-go-lucky than his companions based on his limited screen time. He is the first to go.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Princess Finé and his country.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Dies at approximately the halfway point of the first episode.

!!!Voiced by: Creator/FumiHirano (Japanese)

Izetta's grandmother who raised Izetta while traveling with her to various areas to avoid others from learning of Izetta's powers. She appears to know a great deal about the legend of the White Witch.

----

* BrutalHonesty: She tells Izetta that she is the last witch and she should never use her power because it'll only bring her misfortune.
* TheDrifter: She and Izetta were drifters when Izetta was a child due to Izetta not being able to properly control her powers yet.
* Foreshadowing: Telling Izetta how her power will only bring her misfortune could mean more than simply how others will hate her for having powers. Additionally, warning Izetta the Witch Witch was considered a traitor could indicate there is something more to the legend of the White Witch than most know.
* NoNameGiven: Izetta's grandmother has yet to be named.
* PosthumousCharacter: While Izetta has not outright confirmed it, it is implied her grandmother is dead before the beginning of the series.

!! The Empire of Germania

* EvenEvilHasStandards: On the receiving end of the trope, as the Germanian spies (even the relatable ones like Rickter) do consider silencing one of your own troops that Knows Too Much as par for the course, while for their Elystadt counterparts it's a rather extreme action.
* PunchClockVillain: The majority of Germania soldiers are just soldiers doing their duty, not so much with the higher ups.
* PuttingOnTheReich: They are essentially Nazis in the guise of Kaiserreich Imperial Germany, the Kaiser even has a great interest in the Occult much like some of the Nazi brass (particularly Himmler) did.

!!!Voiced by: Creator/KoichiYamadera (Japanese), Brandon Potter (English)
The Emperor of Germania.
----
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: The moment he make a deal with anyone, expect him to fully go back on it later on without any hint of remorse whatsoever.
* CruelMercy: Forgives the Lieutenant General responsible for the lost battle in Episode 3, but reassigns him to a no end job at a prison camp and confiscates all his lands, which is treated as a FateWorseThanDeath.
* TheEmperor
* GreaterScopeVillain: The one responsible for the ongoing war on the continent and the attempted kidnapping of Finé and Izetta.
* Jerkass: He establishes himself as this when he punishes a subordinate even though the defeat was not Grosskopf's fault and no one could have taken Izetta's abilities into account.
* NoNameGiven: For the entirety of the series' first half, he's been only referred to by his position as a monarch. However, in episode 7, during a discussion between the leaders-in-exile of nations invaded by Germania, we're finally given a name: Otto.
* PetTheDog: He recognizes Rickert's work in exposing Izetta's secret, and he make sure his father knows he gives his condolences.
* PragmaticVillainy: See YouHaveFailedMe below.
* TakeOverTheWorld: His end goal, not surprising in the least considering who he´s based on...
* YouHaveFailedMe: Subverted, he was seemingly originally planning to do this to the Lieutenant General Grosskopf, but instead decides to reassign him to a prison camp and take all his lands after the information he gives about Izetta turns out to be useful.

The Kaiser's right-hand man and advisor.
----
* HonestAdvisor: His role in the Kaiser's court. He takes it upon himself to remind the Kaiser to prioritize Germania's military objectives over his fascination with Izetta's magic.
* MinorMajorCharacter: He only has a handful of lines, but he makes them count as he advises the Kaiser.
* SatelliteCharacter: He has yet to have a scene other than being by the Kaiser's side.
* SkewedPriorities: Subverted. He wants the Kaiser to put his primary focus on Elystadt's strategic importance and make capturing Izetta the secondary goal to which the Kaiser agrees to.

!!Arnold Berkman
!!!Voiced by: Creator/JunichiSuwabe (Japanese), Creator/JohnBurgmeier (English)

Major of the Germanian army's special unit, and one of the few people who knew what was in the mysterious coffin.
----
* AwesomeByAnalysis: In Episode 5, he is able to figure out Izetta's power has limits by considering certain facts, but he doesn't know the specifics. He figures that out in episode 7.
* BigBad: Serves as Izetta's main opposition throughout the series and is the one who is charged with trying to find out a way to kill her.
* ClarkKenting: Zig-zagged. When he encounters Finé in Episode 8 he is merely wearing a small mask, and she does not recognize him. This is justified because they only briefly met in Episode 1, and it had been weeks or months since then. Additionally, during their first meeting, it became darkened by the tunnel, and she was focused on escaping. Not to mention, she wouldn't expect a Germanian to be attending an party for one of the allied nations.
* DissonantSerenity: He is seen smiling as he murders his fellow Germanians.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His FauxAffablyEvil moment listed below in the first episode.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Berkman smiles while shooting his fellow Germanians when they see Izetta in the capsule.
* Foil: To Sieghart "Sieg" Müller. Both are questionable characters willing to "do what is needed" for their cause, including . However, Sieg does it after reaching the conclusion that it needs to be done, makes a token effort to explain and justify his action to and apologizes to him, and is shown being troubled inside for his own action afterwards, while Berkman does it easily, as a spot decision, without apparent regret, and actually smiling, .
* FourEyesZeroSoul: A man who would just murder his own men while smiling cannot be a good guy by any stretch of the imagination.
* GenreSavvy: He's very intelligent, and is able to make very accurate educated guesses about Izetta after collecting witness testimonies from the Battle of Coenenberg, and setting up an experiment where he sacrifices the Germanian aircraft carrier in order to observe her magical powers firsthand.
* Ghostapo: The army special unit Berkman represents appears to be the FantasyCounterpartCulture version of this trope, investigating occult phenomena at the Kaiser's behest.
* TheHeavy: Berkman is the first antagonist introduced and seems to be the Kaiser's most competent and trustworthy underling, charged with coming up with a plan to defeat and (re)capture Izetta.
* HeelFaceTurn: He technically joins Elystadt's side in Episode 11 after Kaiser Otto quietly ordered his execution.
* HeroKiller: Establishes himself as this by killing Tobias.
* ItIsAllAboutMe: He is not loyal to Germania. He is loyal only to himself. He hasn't been doing things for the sake of Germania, but mostly for his own curiosity. He lampshades this in Episode 11.
* Jerkass: He is one without a doubt.
* JerkassHasAPoint: While he may not exactly be loyal to Germania from the start, he has a valid point that there is no point in being loyal to a country whose ruler wants him dead, and he is better off siding with Elystdyt and helping them win the war, so he can live.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: The Germanian officer that Berkman kills was not only going to shoot him in the back, but that coward enjoyed torturing the prisoners and planned on murdering all of Finé's people despite Finé agreeing to surrender.
* NotSoDifferent: He lampshades that he and Seig have more than a few similarities when they meet face-to-face in Episode 11.
* PerpetualSmiler: He almost always has a small smirk on his face, even when killing his own countrymen.
* PetTheDog: He paid his respects to Rickert's grave and genuinely praised his efforts.
* PragmaticVillainy: He joins Elystadt's side after he figured out that Kaiser Otto ordered his execution.
* TheSmartGuy: For the Germanian side.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: There have been inconsistencies with whether his name is spelled 'Bergman', 'Belkman' or 'Berkman'. The latter is used in the Funimation translation.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: After all of his efforts finally brought Germania excellent results, the Kaiser is quick to discard and toss him away once he no longer can contribute to the cause. He, GenreSavvy of course, knew it was coming and yet, got caught off-guard once it happened.

Another member of the special unit who has noble blood. He is Berkman's right-hand man.
----

* AccidentalPervert: He sees Bianca when she is bathing. He only broke down the door because he thought she was in danger.
* BadLiar: In Episode 7, Bassler tells Richert has a bad poker face.
* Bishonen: His appearance really stands out in the Germanian ranks.
* ADeathInTheLimelight: Episode 8 gives him more development before his untimely death at the hands of Bianca.
* DefiantToTheEnd: He's offered his life if he turns sides, but he outright refuses. A rare case of doing that without saying a single insult or snark (see FaceDeathWithDignity and Suicide By Royal Guard below for details).
* DisneyVillainDeath: Subverted in that he's also quite deliberately shot in chest and abdomen before falling, instead of it being a simple accident that leaves the hero's hand clean.
* DistractedByTheSexy: Fails to notice Bianca's Royal Guard uniform laid on upon her bed right in front of him, because a fully nude Bianca is also in front of him.
* TheDragon: To Berkman until his death.
* DueToTheDead: It is revealed in Episode 11 that Rickert was given a proper burial.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: Invoking MyCountryRightOrWrong, NotSoDifferent, and YouCantFightFate (see below) in quick sucesion before also invoking Suicide By Royal Guard.
* HiddenDepths: He acknowledges that he will take up his father's title one day, but he wants to prove he can be successful even without inheriting it.
* InstantDeathBullet: Averted. He is shot twice before dying. Even then he didn't completely succumb to the wounds yet.
* MrExposition: He serves as this for Bassler during Episode 6.
* MyCountryRightOrWrong: Even though he does feel bad for Eylstadt, he refuses to betray Germania.
* NotSoDifferent: He tells Bianca how they both are loyal to their country before she kills him.
* ProperlyParanoid: In Episode 5, he is understandably nervous when Berkman begins listing what Izetta would do if her powers were invincible, such as personally going to the Germanian Empire's capital to eliminate the Kaiser. While Berkman is simply speaking about theories and observations, Rickert understands that in a totalitarian state such things can be easily misconstrued.
* SatelliteCharacter: For the first seven episodes most of his scenes revolved around him having exchanges with either Berkman or Bassler. Subverted in Episode 8 where he gets more screentime before meeting his untimely demise.
* ShipTease: Between him and Bianca until she finds out who he really is.
* Suicide By Royal Guard: Bleeding to death from a previous wound, and faced to his love interest, he chooses to raise his gun nonetheless, forcing Bianca to shoot him in the chest.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Deconstructed. While he is the nicest of the people on the Germanian side and sympathizes with the Elystadt people, it doesn't mean he is going to betray his country and switch sides overnight. He has lived in Germania his whole life, and he is loyal to his country. While his last moments did make it clear he truly felt bad for Elystadt, it doesn't change the fact he puts his own country first to complete his mission.
* TheWatson: His main role for most of his screen time is being someone to whom Berkman can explain his theories and plans.
* YouCantFightFate: He discusses the trope to Bianca in relation to Izetta and Finé being likely to repeat the real story of the original White Witch and Prince.

* AllThereInTheManual: He was not introduced by name in the second episode, but the promotional material revealed his name. He isn't named onscreen until Episode 5.
* BadassBoast: He states that he is the only one who can take on Izetta in a dogfight.
* BrainsAndBrawn: He is the brawn to Berkman's brains.
* CoDragons: With Rickert until Rickert's death in Episode 8.
* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: His fighter is trimmed with gold, signifying his status as squadron leader.
* SecondEpisodeIntroduction: He makes his debut in the second episode of the series.
* SoleSurvivor: In their first confrontation, Izetta downs the members of his squadron one by one. The captain himself makes it back to Germania with only a disabled engine. It is because of this that Berkman decides to recruit him.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: There were some inconsistencies on whether his name was spelt as 'Bassler' or 'Basler.' The latter is used in the Funimation translation.

* AssholeVictim: A non-fatal version. He suffers horrible consequences after he suffers a humiliating defeat at Izetta's hands.
* BaldOfEvil: He is completely bald and seems rather pleased how his men are wiping out a less equipped opposing force.
* BreakTheHaughty: The news of his division's defeat leaves him very broken at the end of the Episode 3.
* HumiliationConga: Not only does Izetta deliver him a crushing defeat which forces him to return to Germania to explain his defeat to the Kaiser personally but he is stripped of everything he's worked for his entire life.
* ReassignedToAntarctica: After his defeat, the Kaiser is 'lenient' by simply stripping of his rank and lands then forced to become a warden of a prison camp.
* SmugSnake: He seems a little too eager to celebrate his victory long before the battle was over. It comes back to bite him later.
* StarterVillain: The first Germanian commander Izetta and the Elystadt forces defeat.
* ThisCannotBe: His reaction to his men being defeated by Izetta.

!!!Voiced by: Creator/SoraAmamiya
A witch whose existance seemingly contradicts the fact that Izetta is the last witch. In reality, she's a clone of the white witch spoken in legends, created specifically for the purpose of combating Izetta.

* AmbiguousSituation: It has not been made clear if she really does remember her past or if she is relying on what the Germanians have told her about history.
* AxCrazy: She does not appear to be entirely stable.
* BloodMagic: Izetta's blood is why she was able to gain a sense of self and use magic. Beforehand, she nothing more than a mindless puppet. Due to her being a witch, she likely is capable of using the same blood magic Izetta was capable of as well.
* BodySurf: The Germanian army is mass-producing more clone bodies for her, as using the Magic Stone degenerates her current body.
* CameBackWrong: She apparently retained her memories from her past life, and she is enraged.
* CloneDegeneration: Changing clone bodies carries a severe risk that she will be eroding her consciousness with every switch.
* ContraltoOfDanger: Has one of the deepest voices of the female cast, and is also one of the deepest voices Sora Amamiya has done as well.
* CurbStompBattle: Zig-zagged. When she is fighting against Izetta, Izetta fights relatively well against her. It isn't until Sophie lures her into an area that she had previously drained of magic with the Magic Stone that she takes Izetta down.
* DarkActionGirl: She is the dark version of Izetta.
* DarkIsEvil: She wears a dark outfit in contrast to Izetta.
* DissonantSerenity: She is constantly smiling and enjoying herself as she either torments Izetta or kills numerous other people.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Episode 9.
* EvilKnockoff: Of both the legend she's cloned from and Izetta herself. This even extends to her outfit, a mostly black one in contrast to Izetta's white outfit.
* EvilLaugh: When attacking Izetta and later Landsbruck.
* FallenHero: She used to be the guardian of Elystadt, but after getting betrayed by the country in her previous life, she is now determined to destroy it.
* Hypocrite: Chides Izetta for misusing her powers and intervening in a human war...yet her previous incarnation did the same thing, and she has no issue with harming the Elystdt forces on Germania's behalf. Episode 10 takes this even further when uses the power of the magic stone to mass produce powerful weapons for the Germanian forces that devastate their enemies.
* Jerkass: She is a big one without a doubt.
* KickTheDog: After she uses her stone to nullify Izetta's ability, she has no problem chaining her up quite painfully.
* KnightOfCerebus: Things get significantly darker with her arrival to the plot and the war effort begins to turn back to Germania's favour.
* PowerCrystal: The Magic Stone (even only possessing half of it) allows her to drain regions of their magic completely, draw on the magic stored in the stone to bypass the limitation of needing to be near a ley line, and power Germanian weaponry.
* PuttingOnTheReich: Upon her official debut on the battlefield, she shows up in a black and red version of a Germanian officer uniform, in direct contrast to Izetta´s color-scheme.
* ReasonYouSuckSpeech: Defied. She tries to give one to Izetta regarding her devotion to Finé, but Izetta quickly shuts up and continues fighting without any problem. Instead, Sophie lures Izetta into a trap.
* Revenge: She feels pretty motivated to get revenge for her previous version's death.
* RevengeBeforeReason: It doesn't matter to her if using the Magic Stone reduces her already limited lifespan or she might not be able to transfer her current consciousness into another clone body. She just wants to make sure Elystadt burns.
* Sadist: The way she enjoys painfully chaining up Izetta makes it clear she is one.
* SoullessShell: She starts out as one, but begins to regain her memories after coming into contact with Izetta's blood.
* WalkingSpoiler: It's pretty much impossible to mention her without explaining events of episode 9.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Big time.
* WildCard: It has been hinted the Germanians might not be able fully control her. She does not have much of an issue to insulting and disrespecting people even on her side.
* YourDaysAreNumbered: Being an incomplete clone with a borrowed consciousness and user of a highly hurtful artifact, she knows that she won´t be long-lived, acknowledging that she was dead from the start when the topic came up.

* ExactWords: Izetta's power did indeed convince him to get the president to send troops. Except that he sees Izetta as a potential threat, so they're coming to fight both Germania and Eylstadt.
* FalseFriend: Seems helpful, but in actuality he sees Izetta as a potential threat to the States and acts against her.
* Foreshadowing: There was quite a bit of focus on his reaction to Izetta's power in Episode 7 which led to his actions in Episode 8 to recommend eliminating Izetta as a threat to the United States of Atlanta.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He has only appeared in a handful of scenes, but in one of those scene he has managed to turn the ally Izetta and Finé were hoping to get into another enemy they'll have to contend with.
* TraitorShot: After he delivers the news that he'd do what he could to persuade the president to send troops to fight the Germanians, he is the only one in the room to receive a closeup who isn't smiling.

----
Characters]]
* ChildhoodFriends: With Princess Finé
* RomanticTwoGirlFriendship: With Princess Finé.

* ChildhoodFriends: With Izetta
* OnlyFriend: To Izetta.
* RomanticTwoGirlFriendship: With Izetta.

* IncurableCoughOfDeath: Suffers from this.

Aide to the Archduke of Eylstadt. He has a great deal of interest in the legend of the White Witch.

* DarkIsEvil: His dark appearance and CreepyMonotone are dead giveaways that he is going to be the most morally questionable character in the
Eylstadt high command.
& Allied Nations]]

* PunchClockVillain: The majority of Germania soldiers are just soldiers doing their duty, not so much with the higher ups.

* CruelMercy: Forgives the Lieutenant General responsible for the lost battle in Episode 3, but reassigns him to a no end job at a prison camp and confiscates all his lands, which is treated as a FateWorseThanDeath.
* TheEmperor
* PragmaticVillainy: See YouHaveFailedMe below.

* MinorMajorCharacter: He only has a handful of lines, but he makes them count as he advises the Kaiser.
* SatelliteCharacter: He has yet to have a scene other than being by the Kaiser's side.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Episode 9.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Big time.

An ambassador representing Atlanta among the allies.
