What makes it worse is that all the memories leading to his FaceHeelTurn, including the Joker's speech and the graves of his family, all flash before him before he is sucked into the Zone by a demonic entity. Afterwards, the player is given a shot of Regime Supes screaming while drifting away.]]

* BrokenPedestal: He used to be the world's greatest hero, respected and loved by his friends and humanity, but his murder of the Joker and [[KnightTemplar subsequent]] actions broke their faith. The murder of the heroic Lex Luthor was the final straw to the few humans who still looked up to him.

* TheParanoiac: After his downfall, he's obsessed with ending crime at all costs and going after the insurgents who oppose his policies, even killing anyone who calls him out. [[SanitySlippage But as time progressed]], he's now a rage-filled tyrant who wants to retain his iron-fisted grip on Earth and brutally crush any dissent out of selfishness. He even [[{{Yandere}} develops an obsession]] with the main universe [[LovingAShadow Lois when told about it]], planning to kill the main universe's Superman and [[AndNowYouMustMarryMe take her as his bride forcefully]] even if she won't like it.

** Don't ask what Lois would think of his present actions. [[spoiler:Shazam gets killed for it]]. Deep inside, he is aware Lois wouldn't approve any his actions, but his grief [[EvilCannotComprehendGood prevents]] him from fully realizing it.

* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Surprisingly and coincidentally, because of his design (including the skin tone and him being bald) as well as the technicalities of the game's graphics, Injustice Black Adam bears a passing resemblance to Wrestling/DwayneJohnson.

* InsaneTrollLogic: Played for horror. Upon hearing people are questioning his rule after they [[spoiler:witnessed him kill Luthor in the open]], he [[VillainousBreakdown rants]] that they are [[UngratefulBastard "ungrateful"]] for his "protection," and unleashes his forces on Metropolis and Gotham [[ScareEmStraight to crush any dissent]].

* NeverMyFault: He begins to show signs of this after having a FaceHeelTurn. When Batman points out how he's scaring people, Superman says he learned it from Batman, and also justifies his killing the Joker as "one death to save millions" when it was obviously motivated by {{Revenge}} and not altruism. Batman even points out how the latter is just the first step in a slippery slope. When Aquaman calls him out on becoming a KnightTemplar, Superman denies it. The game proper only gives more examples of this, with him repeatedly refusing to admit how far he's fallen and even at one point claiming that Insurgency Batman is responsible. The only thing he will claim responsibility for is killing Lois Lane and their unborn child, and ''that wasn't'' his fault.

* SatanicArchetype: Surprisingly, Regime Superman has incredibly Satanic elements surrounding his character. Being a FallenHero who used to be the greatest superhero on Earth until he became an EvilOverlord that sacrifices all notions of goodness in his heart until he's nothing but an [[LackOfEmpathy apathetic]] [[TheCaligula tyrant]] and [[CrapsackWorld turns the world into a living Hell]] (paralleling the FallenAngel archetype to [[UpToEleven an incredibly disturbing degree]]), has usurped all governments on Earth to replace them with a completely totalitarian, autocratic and oppressive [[PuttingOnTheReich Fascist/Nazi-esque]] dictatorship in which he mercilessly slaughters any opposition, [[TheCorrupter corrupts the Justice League into becoming his henchmen]], and he even coerces ComicBook/BlackAdam into joining him by threatening to destroy Kahndaq if he doesn't do so. Not to mention, Regime Superman's personality perfectly embodies every single one of the SevenDeadlySins, further enhancing his Satanic qualities. Furthermore, all of this demonic nature is put on full display when he's caught murdering Lux Luthor in cold-blooded fashion, where he completely loses it and becomes a PsychopathicManchild that [[VillainousBreakdown throws a massive, deranged temper tantrum]] [[MoralEventHorizon by planning to destroy the world, starting with Metropolis and Gotham]] in order to keep people oppressed (somewhat similar to the Devil planning to destroy the world [[InTheirOwnImage to recreate it in his own image]]), and most importantly, he ends up becoming a ShadowArchetype to the mainstream Franchise/{{Superman}} (who is most commonly depicted as TheParagon and [[MessianicArchetype Earth's greatest protector]]) as to [[BewareTheSuperman what if he lost his moral]], enough as to why he fears becoming NotSoDifferent from his EvilCounterpart.

* StrawNihilist: He fully becomes this after the Joker tricks him into killing Lois Lane in the beginning.

* GlowingMechanicalEyes: His left eye is a [[RedEyesTakeWarning red]] cybernetic prosthetic that emits a [[FrickinLaserBeams laser]], which is most evident if one subjects him to the bottom-to-top transition on the Fortress of Solitude.

* CutscenePowerToTheMax: In some cutscenes, Luthor's suit uses FrickinLaserBeams [[HandBlast fired out of his gauntlets]] and shoulder-mounted [[MacrossMissileMassacre missile launchers]], neither of which appears in his in-game moveset. Additionally, his alternate suit closes from the front, yet his victory cutscene has him exiting from the back like his primary costume.

* FrickinLaserBeams: Can call one down from his KillSat as a special move.

* BigBadSlippage: The tie-in comics show his [[ItGetsEasier his hard-line approach in solving crime]] and the [[SanitySlippage toll]] it's taking on his mental health after becoming the Regime's High Councilor. By the start of the game, he's firmly in villain territory.

By the start of the game, he's firmly in villain territory.

* HateSink: While the Main Universe Joker is villainous, he at least has funny moments in the narrative that make him genuinely amusing at times. The same cannot be said for his ''Injustice'' version, who gets saddled with this role in the game and [[VideoGame/Injustice2 its sequel]]. Given he's responsible for all the mess that permeated after Metropolis was nuked, ''Injustice''-verse Joker loses all of his cred (and life) permanently — his ex-moll Harley ditches him entirely, Batman just completely gives up on indulging him any more, and most villains [[EvenEvilHasStandards loathe him]] for either Metropolis or just in general principle. Many in Gotham are happy that he's been KilledOffForReal. One could say that JokerImmunity didn't save him this time.

** He’s so emotionally cold that most of his rants are about him having [[FreudianExcuse lost his family]], and [[JerkassHasAPoint calling out someone’s faults and flaws. While he’s not wrong about it]], he refuses to acknowledge [[NeverMyFault his own.]] To prove how apathetic he is, he tells an entire class before he’s leaving to ''be good''. If this was old Superman, he’d speak a paragraph about the importance of benevolence and kindness.
** The most terrifying example is him [[spoiler:callously murdering Shazam, a '''child''', and looking down at his corpse as if it was a bag of trash]]. By that moment, you can tell that he’s become ''worse than the Joker.''
** A horribly visible example is his plan to bring the other universe's Lois to his, despite the fact that it’s clear that Lois [[EverybodyHasStandards would be just as appalled as everyone else at what he’s done to the world]]. He even outright tells his good counterpart that he ''doesn’t care'' as long as she’s alive, almost as if he’s treating her as a mere possession.

* LovingAShadow: His plan to [[spoiler:take the alternate universe’s Lois is this. Despite his Lois being VERY similar to the alternate (and still living) Lois, it’s still a different Lois overall.]]

* MaskOfSanity: He makes an attempt to hide how far gone he is. Occasionally, he'll act as the BigBrotherMentor to Shazam and nice with Lex Luthor around, but it doesn't take long for the mask to crack, and [[VillainousBreakdown the seams come apart]] when people [[spoiler:witness him kill Luthor on live television]].

* MoralityChainBeyondTheGrave: He repeatedly justifies his actions by stating they're for Lois' sake. When they face off, the main universe Superman tells him point-blank that Lois would be afraid and disgusted by his actions and what he's become; Regime Superman is beyond caring by this point.

* FauxAffablyEvil: He is eerily polite and civil sounding when speaking, [[NukeEm but his]] [[MoralEventHorizon actions prior to the events of the game]] [[AxCrazy speak for themselves]].

* GreaterScopeVillain: Although he's killed off early in the game, the sinister legacy he left behind by causing Superman and Batman to hate each other and Injustice-verse slowly becoming a CrapsackWorld has affected everybody even after Superman was defeated. If he were alive to see the chaos he left behind, he would have been cackling in glee, as this is ''precisely'' what he wanted.
* HateSink: While the Main Universe Joker is villainous, he at least has several funny moments in the narrative that make him genuinely amusing at times. The same cannot be said for his ''Injustice'' version, who gets saddled with this role in the game and [[VideoGame/Injustice2 its sequel]]. Given he's responsible for all the mess that permeated after Metropolis was nuked, ''Injustice''-verse Joker loses all of his cred (and life) permanently — his ex-moll Harley ditches him entirely, Batman just completely gives up on indulging him any more, and most villains [[EvenEvilHasStandards loathe him]] for either Metropolis or just in general principle. * SmallRoleBigImpact: Everything bad that's happened in this continuity is courtesy of Joker deciding to nuke Metropolis, yet he dies at the beginning of the game, and the issue #4 of the prequel comics (Year One).

* StrawNihilist: As usual, he is obsessed with proving the true "ugliness" of society and the pointlessness of life.

* ItGetsEasier: His FatalFlaw. ''So'' much could have been resolved if he had just stopped after killing the Joker and talked to someone about how he felt after Lois and the baby's deaths. Instead, the comics show he went on trying to fight the good fight, only to be confronted with an ongoing stream of horrible situations, where he was forced to commit morally gray acts to save the day. As time passed, he becomes so desensitized to all the horrible things he does that after doing something he regrets, he instead [[NeverMyFault blames others]] for ''his'' actions. This lets people like [[LadyMacbeth Wonder Woman]] and even characters he'd normally ''never'' put his faith in like [[CardCarryingVillain Sinestro]] to manipulate him.
** It's also deconstructed, as the events of the comics and game slowly eat up his sanity until there's nothing but an utterly rage-filled maniac who rants about his FreudianExcuse and how [[UngratefulBastard "ungrateful"]] the populace is towards his authority.

* CantTakeCriticism: He reacts ''negatively'' with extreme force to any criticism levied on him, ''especially'' if someone brings up Lois in a bad manner or anything related to the Joker.

* ReplacementGoldfish: Averted. She would like to be this to [[spoiler:Lois Lane]], and cannot. Deathstroke once calls her [[spoiler:"Superman's rebound girl"]], but apparently to taunt her.

Before he gritted his teeth and looked angry all the time. Before he became all hard and dark because people, supposedly, needed him to. I miss the City of Tomorrow— —and the man of yesterday.]]"

* EvenEvilHasStandards: While Andre Chavard is regaling him with stories of World War II in ''Year Zero'', the Joker tells him to hurry up and get to the Nazi-killing parts, declaring, "I'm American. I @#$%#$@ hate Nazis! I'm a homicidal maniac, not a traitorous bigot."
