** NeverMyFault is another problem for him, as when Batman points out how he's scaring people, Superman says he learned it from Batman, and also justifies his killing the Joker as "one death to save millions" when it was obviously motivated by {{Revenge}} and not altruism. The game proper only gives more examples of this, with him repeatedly refusing to admit how far he's fallen and even at one point claiming that Insurgency Batman is responsible. The only thing he will claim responsibility for is him killing Lois Lane and their unborn child, and ''that'' wasn't his fault.

* HateSink: He gets saddled with this role in the game and [[VideoGame/Injustice2 its sequel]] — at least, the version from the Injustice-verse itself. Virtually hated by hero [[EvenEvilHasStandards and villain alike]], he caused Superman's StartOfDarkness, then pulled a StrikeMeDownWithAllOfYourHatred on the poor man that set him on the path to becoming a tyrant, all ForTheEvulz. As such, he's also indirectly responsible for [[WeUsedToBeFriends making Superman and Batman hate each other]], [[HowTheMightyHaveFallen the Justice League]] [[BreakingTheFellowship falling apart]], the deaths of several heroes who died fighting the Regime, and worst of all, the general collapse of everything good about the DCU in the Injustice-verse. His death goes largely unmourned, everyone is actively happy to be rid of him in the prequel comics, and his role as TheCorrupter to Harley Quinn is played up to make her HeelFaceTurn feel more plausible, as she is absolutely done with him and refuses to partake in his madness any longer.

* LeanAndMean: Similar to many portrayals of ComicBook/TheJoker, he is fairly thin with no visible muscle.

* StrikeMeDownWithAllOfYourHatred: Invoked. He basically dares Franchise/{{Superman}} to kill him, after he used Kryptonite-laced fear gas to make Superman kill Lois and his unborn child, which resulted in Metropolis being nuked. This takes place in [[AlternateTimeline an alternate universe to the main one]], so instead of what would be expected, Superman goes through with it.
* ThanatosGambit: He basically was banking on Superman's reaction after he used Kryptonite-laced fear gas to make the Man of Steel kill Lois and his unborn child by accident, which resulted in Metropolis being nuked. Supes falls for the bait and slowly becomes a [[HeWhoFightsMonsters ruthless tyrant]] in this alternate universe. And the Joker did this ForTheEvulz -- he was tired of constantly losing to Batman, so he decided to go after an easier target, see if they'll break the ThouShaltNotKill rule and become just as monstrous and twisted as he is.

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: When Batman points out that he is scaring people, Superman justifies [[KnightTemplar himself]] by saying that the bad guys ''should'' be scared, not realizing that Batman meant [[BewareTheSuperman people in general.]]

* ItsAllAboutMe: Superman turned to dictatorial tactics because he thought it was the only way to keep the world safe, but after [[spoiler:killing Luthor]] his selfish side shows, [[spoiler:unleashing his full armed forces and Doomsday on Metropolis and Gotham for daring to question him and planning to kill the main universe's Superman and take his Lois, regardless of what she may think.]] This is most evident in how he phrases his motivation when the main universe's Superman confronts him.

* ItGetsEasier: His FatalFlaw. ''So'' much could have been resolved if he had just stopped after killing the Joker and talked to someone about how he felt after Lois and the baby's deaths. Instead, the comics show he went on trying to fight the good fight, only to be confronted with an ongoing stream of horrible situations (like Aquaman's war of Atlantean aggression, the Apokoliptian invasion, Martian Manhunter trying to kill Wonder Woman, etc.) wherein he was forced to commit morally gray acts to save the day. He starts out [[DirtyBusiness regretting these actions]], but eventually becomes so completely desensitized to all the horrible things he does that after doing something he regrets, he instead [[IgnoredEpiphany blames]] [[NeverMyFault someone else]] for ''his'' actions. This allows him to be manipulated by characters like [[LadyMacbeth Wonder Woman]] and even characters he'd normally ''never'' put his faith in like [[CardCarryingVillain Sinestro]].
