* ShoutOut: His outfit is modelled after the [[Characters/ShrekTheCharacter titular character]] from the ''Franchise/{{Shrek}}'' franchise. His old skin from several years before he joined Hermitcraft was even Shrek.

* BadassBookworm: Etho's is pretty good at [[PlayerVersusPlayer PvP]] and can use his vast knowledge of game mechanics to his advantage. That said, the combat mechanics since 1.14 are not his strong suit, and the RunningGag of [[BadassDecay Etho being washed up]] from ''WebVideo/LifeSMP'' occasionally bleeds over to ''Hermitcraft'' by the other Hermits, which he takes in good stride.

** She was also the first person to win the WebVideo/MinecraftChampionship two times in a row. Her first win was in MCC 9 together with her fellow Hermit Rendog alongside [[WebVideo/DreamSMP HBomb]] and speedrunner [[WebVideo/SMPEarth Fruitberries]]. Their win is considered to be the biggest [[DarkHorseVictory underdog victory]] in the event. In MCC 10, she won with another Hermit, Cubfan, alongside [[WebVideo/LifeSMP SmallishBeans]] and [=PeteZahHutt=]. False carried the team Dodgebolt earning her the nickname "False Supremacy". She once again won in MCC 17, getting her third win. This time, she was once again teamed with Pete and was joined by Grian and [=SB737=].

* SleepDeprivation: Due to living in Australia, it's often quite early for her when group recording sessions, particularly involving both European and American Hermits, occur, and so she can often be heard mentioning how tired she is. The "5 am Pearl" RunningGag from ''WebVideo/LifeSMP'' even carried over to ''Hermitcraft'', with "5 am" being one of her card's abilities in the Season 9 TCG.

Scar's SecretIdentity, which is in his words, a washed-up 1980's superhero archer that retired into playing vollyball. This is often stylized as "[=hOt gUY=]", according to his bow.

* PunnyName: "Hot Guy" sounds like "Hawkeye;" fitting for a shirtless superhero archer.
* ShoutOut: Scar's outfit is a clear reference to the comic book super-archer, ComicBook/{{Hawkeye}}. To keep it up with the joke, Scar used to shout "Hawkeye!" whatever he snipes someone with a bow, referencing Hawkeye as well.
