** The Japanese version, supposedly contains more background on the character. According to the original Japanese languaged introduction, you're office worker on his way home, which sets your gender as male and puts you atleast somewhere near mid-20s/30s.

* TomatoInTheMirror: [[spoiler: Like the protagonist, her soul contains a piece of the Prince of the Old Ones, which is responsible for her DarkAndTroubledPast.]]

A serial killer with a gun, which he got from his first victim. Who was a police officer. He also kills stuff out of boredom. He's the second partner the player can encounter, and have him follow them around if Naomi died. He can stun the monster with his gun. [[spoiler:He was also on the train the player and Naomi was on, but he managed to escape before both of them recovered.]]

* JumpedAtTheCall: [[spoiler: Kamiya attributes his homicidal urges to having a piece of the Prince of the Old Ones' soul just like the protagonist and Naomi. Unlike the two of them, he fully embraces this and in his ending he willingly merges with the Hybrid to create the Dark Messiah, taking the protagonist along with him.]]

* TokenEvilTeammate: He's a serial killer and beating the game with him as your companion [[spoiler: locks you into the bad ending]].

He was sent in with his squad to wipe out the monster. It went... bad. Being the only survivor of the squad, he decided to hunt it down, finish the mission, and escape. Now he's stuck in The Mesh. He carries a rocket launcher that can stun the monster for a while.

* BadassNormal: When first met you see him singlehandedly fighting off the creature. He and Kamiya are also the two companions best suited for combat.

When you get to the EldritchLocation, you see The Monster attack a being who is later named as "That Which Wonders". [[spoiler: If you do not have a partner with you, That Which Wanders will be the next partner.]]

* SixthRanger: He's surprise 5th potential teammate and a member of the antagonistic alien species behind the whole mess.

* AssimilationPlot: What the "Great Union" truly is--they want to force all of humanity into becoming one with the Dark Messiah.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: [[spoiler: According to That Which Reveals, all cultists of the Holy Ring were normal humans before being forcibly converted by That Which Whispers.]]

* TheAssimilator: Ivanoff explains that the Hybrid has the ability to absorb both organic and inorganic material to grow and transform itself. It started out as an alien slug that the Japanese government found, then absorbed a researcher that was studying it to become the shambling monster that attacks you at the beginning of the game. As the game progresses it continues to transform into a more intelligent alien form.

* SealedEvilInACan: The Japanese government found him sealed underground while digging out the tunnels for the creation of the Mesh, and though it would be a good idea to unearth him and put him in a research laboratory closer to the surface.

* AntagonistTitle: The original Japanese title of the game was Dark Messiah. It was most likely changed due to there being [[VideoGame/DarkMessiah another game with the title of Dark Messiah]] (which, as it happens has [[spoiler: the same plot twist]]).
* CharacterTitle: [[spoiler: You are the Dark Messiah, so it makes a bit of sense.]]

* TomatoInTheMirror: [[spoiler: As seen above, the player is the Dark Messiah. More specifically, the reborn soul of the Prince of the Old Ones which will become the Dark Messiah after the Hybrid absorbs them.]]
