* {{Irony}}: Mondstadt ought to be a paradise for the alcohol-loving Venti with its wines and ciders, were it not for his apparent young age. It's not much of an issue by the time the Traveler arrives, but his profile reveals that shortly after his arrival, the taverns refused to sell him alcohol, forcing him to get a bit creative and encourage his audience to buy him alcohol in his stead. [[spoiler:If only they knew that they were denying their own archon one of his favorite pastimes...]]

* LoserDeity: Downplayed, but he is given very little respect by most of the cast despite them all [[spoiler:very quickly learning his secret identity.]] Paimon in particular dislikes him greatly and constantly belittles and mocks him. He also [[spoiler:loses his godly powers and even before that was the weakest of the Seven due to his lack of interest in ruling over his domain.]] He lampshades this, lamenting that the Traveler has only met him at a time when he is constantly running into misfortune.

* ImaginaryFriend: Venti's character quest deals with this topic. With a [[SeeThruSpecs special monocle]] (that Venti borrows from Lisa) that allows the Traveler to spot someone else's imaginary friend, they find out that children are more likely to have them, while adults tend to stop having such innocent imaginations once they grow up.

I'm currently discussing this change with the editor, but either way correcting the typo is the least I can do.

* NunTooHoly: Rosaria wears revealing clothing, has a nasty tongue, puts a bit t oo much suspicion on people, and is implied to be a tad overzealous. This seems to be a consequence of being trained more as an inquisitor than a nun, as she says that the investigative work she does and the combat abilities she possesses are part of her job.

There are places where you can't use NRE or even healing food

* CrutchCharacter: Barbara is a decent healer, and having someone in that role frees you from the habit of eating [[HyperactiveMetabolism food to restore HP]]. She is given out for free to players who reached Adventure Rank 20 before Version 1.1 (and after 1.1, she's available after you finish the Prologue chapter), making her the player's [[StarterMon starting healer]] if they haven't received one from the gacha yet. Her elemental skill provides a GradualRegeneration and it also has a decent cooldown. However, it has a downside of applying the Wet status on the active character. While this is negligible against ordinary mooks, ''Let the Show Begin♪'' becomes risky to use against certain enemies and bosses, especially Cryo users since they'll have higher chances of freezing your characters instead. Furtherrmore, the addition of the NRE allowing players to use food without having to go into the menu has caused her usefulness to diminish, as food is still faster in healing in general.

* HavingABlast: His Elemental Burst begins with a big fire explosion. The second level of the charged form of ''Passion Overload'' ends in an explosion; the drawback is that it can blow him away (though mercifully without damage). His ''Fearnaught'' unlockable talent can prevent the knockback by performing it within his Inspiration Field.

Adventurer's Guild\\\

A mysterious bard who sings songs member of the Mondstadt Adventurers' Guild and poems sole remaining member of old his own adventure team. Bennett is infamous for his bad luck, and new tales. Venti is first introduced in secretly labelled as the prologue as he interacts with the dragon Stormterror, but disappears into wind as he is spotted by the Traveler cause for many unfortunate incidents.\\
\\
Burning passion runs in Bennett's blood,
and Paimon. What most don't know it is that there's something more to this boy and why a dragon is fond of him.

Venti specializes
reflected in making himself and his enemies float in midair. fighting style. His Elemental Skill, ''Skyward Sonnet'', launches ''Passion Overload'', nominally deals a fiery slash; when charged, at least it can deal a double slash, and at most a triple slash ending with an explosion that blows both his enemies upward with an upcurrent; in its charged form he forms an even bigger upcurrent around himself, after which he also hovers in midair. and himself away (though without damage on his part). His Elemental Burst, ''Wind's Grand Ode'', ''Fantastic Voyage'', has him fire off an arrow made of wind, leaping up and plunging his sword downwards, creating a vortex that sucks in any enemy fiery explosion as well as an "Inspiration Field", within range, dealing multiple damage which all his allies' normal attacks become imbued with Pyro, and which can be enhanced with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo either gradually heal them if their HP is below 70% or Electro depending on which element it comes into contact with first.give them an ATK boost otherwise.

* TheAlcoholic: He is ''very'' fond of both beer and vintage wine. During Jean's story quest he gets very drunk on beer, and in his character profile he reveals a wish to steal Diluc's wine stores.
* AndroclesLion: Considering Venti's current profession as a bard, the backstories and [[FlavorText lore of certain items]] hint that he is [[spoiler:the "friend" who woke up Dvalin from a deep slumber using the sound of his lyre. It was also thanks to the ballads that the people of Mondstadt now remember Dvalin and his deeds after having forgotten about him for centuries]]. Even before that incident, [[spoiler:since Venti is the Anemo Archon who sought Dvalin in order to save Mondstadt from Durin, the two just basically scratched each other's backs in the past]].
* BareYourMidriff: In the webcomic, Venti wears a more revealing, midriff-bearing white outfit when he appeared during Vennessa's gladiator match.
* BecomeARealBoy: In his Character Quest he goes deep into his backstory, revealing that [[spoiler:he started life as a mere spirit in a thousand. He became acquainted with a boy who sang of freedom and his desire to overthrow Decarabian's tyranny, and through befriending him developed his own personality and love of freedom. His friend was killed during the uprising and Venti took his physical form thereafter, becoming a human.]]
* BecomingTheMask: Downplayed. [[spoiler:It's obvious that he prefers his human identity as "Venti" to his "true" identity. He can be wise at times, but it's not a persona he likes to keep for long.]]
* BigDamnHeroes: [[spoiler:In the webcomic, he suddenly appears in the gladiator arena to share his wind powers to Vennessa, allowing her defeat Ursa the Drake.]]
* BlowYouAway: His element is Anemo.
* BraidsOfAction: He wears two braids at the side of his head. They glow bright green when he uses his Elemental Burst.
* BroughtDownToBadass: He has his [[spoiler:godly powers stripped by Signora]] at the end of the prologue. This doesn't stop him from being highly competent in battle. [[spoiler:And even without his gnosis, he can still perform some of his godly duties, as seen in his story quest where he lays the original Stanley to rest.]]
* CassandraTruth: In Prologue Act 2, Venti basically spills out the truth that [[spoiler:he is Barbatos]] when the nun forbids access to the Lyre der Himmel. The nun doesn't believe Venti's words, thinking that he's just a bard.
* CasualDangerDialogue: When Signora captures him he never drops his amused and affable demeanor, insulting her several times through rhyme even after she [[spoiler:rips his godly power from his chest.]]
* CutsceneIncompetence: At the end of the prologue, the Traveler and Venti [[spoiler:are ambushed by La Signora and her Fatui agents right outside Mondstat's church]]. Even though they can go toe-to-toe with hordes of enemies during gameplay, [[spoiler:it takes just two Fatui to restrain the Traveler and make them helpless to do anything other than watch as La Signora beats Venti down. He also doesn't get to attack Signora when he had the chance]].
* DamageIncreasingDebuff: His second and sixth Constellation upgrades, ''Breeze of Reminiscence'' and ''Storm of Defiance'', reduces enemies' Anemo resistance when using ''Skyward Sonnet'' and ''Wind's Grand Ode'', respectively. In addition, the former further reduces enemies' Anemo resistance (with added reduction to physical resistance) while they are airborne, and the latter adds reduction to other elemental resistances should the vortex take in other elements.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He doesn't like cheese or anything sticky.
* DrowningMySorrows: In one of his voicelines, he empathizes with [[spoiler:Zhongli's depowering]] and offers to bring him a bottle of vintage wine to share.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Has feminine look, soft voice and female English voice.
* FeatherMotif: Venti is fond of light and breezy stuff, which causes his Anemo powers to manifest as feathers. He also carries some feathers near his belt, and his backstory mentions that [[spoiler:he would've wanted to give an eagle feather to his deceased friend]].
* FluorescentFootprints: In a story quest, Paimon and the Traveler notice Venti in the distance, but lose him in a corner. The "[[TrueSight elemental sight]]" ability then comes in handy by revealing his green footprints on the ground.
* {{Foil}}: To Zhongli, [[spoiler:the other surviving member of the original Seven Archons. He takes on the form of the young boy, where the latter adopts that of an adult man. He is usually hands-off in his approach to his subjects, while the latter directly ruled Liyue for thousands of years. He is mostly able to fit in as a mortal, while the latter struggles to adapt to operating without his infinite wealth. He eventually lost his Gnosis--and thus his authority as Archon--as a result of neglecting his duties for too long, while the latter willingly gave up his after having grown weary of his millennia-long tenure and after seeing the Qixing and the Adepti be able to save Liyue from Osial's rampage without needing him anymore. Despite his loss of authority he continues to watch over his people, while the latter contented himself into retirement.]]
* {{Foreshadowing}}: There are hints of him actually being [[spoiler:Barbatos, the Anemo God, in disguise, or the god's current incarnation]].
** The first scene of him in the comic shows him appearing from an Anemo rune sigil on the ground in the outskirts of a forest, and then he wonders how long he's been sleeping.
** One of the first things that Venti did upon arriving in Mondstadt is to check on the Anemo Archon's giant statue. It turns out that he [[spoiler:has a form that resembles how the Archon is depicted in the statue, complete with a hoodie and a pair of angelic wings]].
** When Venti tells a story about Murata in the webcomic's prologue, [[spoiler:Vennessa notices how he speaks as if he's from the distant past. This is a hint that Venti is far older than what he looks like. During the gladiator match in the next day, Vennessa learned that Venti is the Wind God]].
** In Act 2 of the game's prologue, while trying to gain access to the Lyre der Himmel (a magical lyre), a relic said to have belonged to the Anemo God, he proclaims to the nun at the church that he is Barbatos. Of course, she doesn't believe him. Paimon and the Traveler, however, suspect he may actually be telling the truth. [[spoiler:This is later confirmed when he confronts Dvalin, the Stormterror, on Starsnatch Cliff; Dvalin himself refers to him as Barbatos. Jean appeared to have realized this some time ago, almost calling him Barbatos before correcting herself. He thanks her for continuing to use the name Venti despite knowing his true name.]]
* AFormYouAreComfortableWith: [[spoiler:Barbatos's current form as Venti is based on the likeness of a young boy who knew how to play the lyre but wished to see birds in flight for the first time. When Venti obtained a feather of an eagle, he wasn't able to give it as his friend fell in battle, so this was the least that he could do.]]
* FriendlySniper: He's friendly and playful, and uses bow and arrow in combat.

The boy died leading an uprising against Venti's predecessor, the tyrannical God of Storms, and Venti adopted his friend's form afterwards to honor his memory.]]
* TricksterGod: His character profile post friendship level 4 recounts tales of him pranking [[spoiler:the other Archons, including the Tsaritsa and Rex Lapis.]] However, the text then reveals that they're merely fabricated stories, and Venti asked the people "how could you know they're fabrications?" [[TheGadfly to mess with them]]; the text implies that he was drunk when he told those stories.
* UtilityWeapon: The charged form
one of his ''Skyward Sonnet'' gives him free air lift, allowing you to reach tall places quicker or glide to a distance more easily. With his first passive, ''Embrace of Winds'', he can also create an upcurrent that lasts twenty seconds with which the party can propel themselves for gliding at any time.
* WalkingSpoiler: It's hard to talk about him without TheReveal that he is [[spoiler:Barbatos, the Archon of Anemo and god of Mondstadt.]]
* WanderingMinstrel: He loves to wander around, recite poems, speak in rhymes and play music with his little harp.
* WeakButSkilled: Venti's damage is rather lackluster
adventures, despite his status. What he offers though, is incredible crowd control, debuff (through Anemo artifacts), being in near-death and exploration skills.
* WeaksauceWeakness: He's intensely allergic to cats, so if one steals something from him he's forced to ask someone else to retrieve it for him. Even holding something a cat touched is enough to set off a sneezing fit.
* WeUsedToBeFriends:
finding no actual treasure he mentions still decided that he and Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya used to be close allies long ago, but nowadays things aren't the same anymore.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Since Venti would occasionally sneeze whenever a cat approaches him, he makes
it a rule that no cats must be in the vicinity when he's choosing where to perform. He also sneezes near a cat during a subquest of Jean's story arc.
* WillfullyWeak: He could have been a lot more powerful [[spoiler:if he were more active in ruling his territory as the Anemo Archon[[note]]Archons gain power if they are proactive in ruling their territory[[/note]],]] but he prefers to play the role of a bard. This bites him back in the ass when [[spoiler:he got ambushed by Signora and
was too weakened to escape the trap, causing him to lose his [[AmplifierArtifact Gnosis]], which holds most of his authority as one all worth it because of the Seven Archons.]]
* WindIsGreen: His color scheme is primarily green
grand adventure he had, and he wields Anemo.
* WingedHumanoid: In the comic's prologue, when he reveals his "true self", he appears as an angelic being with white wings
it was this love of adventure that [[FeatherMotif release white feathers]]. He is also shown this way in legends he appears in. In his own story quest, Venti has Anemo wings when he reveals his true identity led to Stanley.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: His braids are
him gaining a bright blue. They glow green when he is using a great deal of power, such as his Elemental Burst.
* YouWillNotEvadeMe: ''Wind's Grand Ode'' generates a wind vortex which slowly damages and drags enemies towards it. Like with most Anemo skills, it can "pick up" other elements, turning it into a different elemental vortex, which can lead to different elemental reactions.
Vision.

A former [[Characters/GenshinImpactTheKnightsOfFavonius Knight of Favonius]] and owner of Dawn Winery,
Adventurer's Guild\\\

An investigator for
the largest winery in Mondstadt, and its flagship tavern Angel's Share. Leaving Adventurer's Guild (in theory), Fischl, Prinzessin der Verurteilung, travels the Knights over their attempt to cover up the circumstances surrounding the death of his father Crepus in an ambush led by the Fatui, he nevertheless continues to uphold his vow to protect Mondstadt in his own way, accompanying the Traveler and his former fellow Knights in dealing land with Stormterror, as well as moonlighting as the vigilante "Darknight Hero".

As
a claymore wielder, Diluc specializes night raven companion named Oz, and for all her "eccentricities", is definitely a capable investigator. [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial She is also definitely not a girl named Amy.]]\\
\\
Fischl is notable for amplifying her combat capabilities by working
in brute force. His tandem with Oz. Her Elemental Skill, ''Searing Onslaught'', lets him ''Nightrider'', summons Oz to deal Electro damage to enemies in a fiery slash fixed location (which can be aimed by holding up the Skill); tapping again allows Fischl to three times, while his call him back to her side. Her Elemental Burst, ''Dawn'', sets his sword alight ''Midnight Phantasmagoria'', allows Fischl to temporarily transform into Oz, with which she can fly and summons a phoenix that burns enemies in its path shock her enemies; afterwards, Oz will reappear to continue attacking (and if he is already present before exploding, while infusing all Fischl's transformation, his normal, charged and plunging attacks with Pyro afterwards for a duration.timer will reset).

Added DiffLines:

!!!Tropes common to both:

* TheBeastmaster: Probably the closest any of the launch characters come to it; Fischl's gameplay revolves around getting as much help from Oz as possible. He can't "tank" for her, but he is a colossal part of her damage output.
* ADayInTheLimelight: They play a prominent role in the "Unreconciled Stars" story event.
* AGirlAndHerX: Fischl's a young lady with what's ''probably'' just a huge case of {{Chuunibyou}} who is accompanied by a sentient, communicative, magically-powerful raven who fights on her behalf.
* OutOfCharacterMoment:
** During the final part of the "Unreconciled Stars" event, Fischl accidentally drops her {{Chuunibyou}} speech right before she leaves, confessing that's she's had a lot of fun and that most people in the Adventurer's Guild only ever talk to her for Oz's reconaissance reports. After getting embarrassed when Paimon points this out, Oz hastily tries to cover for her, translating her words back into her normal prose, which Paimon ''also'' calls out as weird.
** Her high Friendship personal lines show she begins to struggle to keep character around the Traveler due to, seemingly, her feelings for them.
* PsychicLink: Fischl can see through Oz's eyes by possessing him. Taking a step further with Fischl's elemental burst Midnight Phantasmagoria, in which Fischl [[FusionDance merges with Oz]] and flies around the battlefield zapping enemies.
* PutOnABus: They have to go help the afflicted people in the final part of the "Unreconciled Stars" story event. Fischl and Oz give the Traveler and Mona their blessings to finish the job.
* RedBaron:
** Fischl calls herself "Prinzessin der Verurteilung", [[BilingualBonus which means]] "Princess of Condemnation" in [[GratuitousGerman German]].
** Oz has multiple titles like Fischl, including the "King of Ravens" or the "Night-Severing Raven Oz".
* ShockAndAwe: Their element is both Electro.

!!!Tropes exclusive to Fischl:

* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Her "papa" doesn't hesitate to call ''Amy'' home for dinner in the middle of a story session during her debut trailer, leaving the poor girl rather flustered (and insisting she's the ''Prinzessin der Verurteilung'', knowing not of any "Amy"). Mercifully (for her), the man hasn't appeared on camera in the game ''just'' yet.
* AscendedFangirl: She is quite possibly playing out the part of her favorite novel heroine to the absolute hilt, down to cosplaying as her and fighting like the girl in the novel does. This is all thanks to being given a Vision at age fourteen, her newfound powers manifesting in a raven familiar, identical to the character Oz from the books, that became her companion. One of Noelle's lines for her has the maid assuming that she's the same heroine character from said novel.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Claims to be the "Princess of Condemnation", a royalty from a kingdom in another realm. [[{{Chuunibyou}} The accuracy of that claim is up to debate]], though her ability to kick ass is not.
* {{Bookworm}}: In one of his voice lines, Oz points out that Fischl is an avid reader of novels (and that his name is sourced from one such book), hinting at a source for Fischl's... eccentricities. Her skill descriptions also imply that the source of all this may be the (currently otherwise unseen) ''Flowers for Princess Fischl'' novel series. Noelle's voice lines back this up, noting that Fischl can always be found reading in the library of the Knights of Favonius HQ whenever she isn't working.
* BunnyEarsLawyer:
** The Guild plays along with her, uh, unique personality because she's (somehow) one of their best investigators. Her investigation skills come into gameplay by cutting down expedition time by 25%. This gets played with in the "Unreconciled Stars" event, where she admits that the Guild's members only come to her to listen to info from Oz.
** In the "Unreconciled Stars" event, Oz notes that her intuitions usually turn out to be correct, nonsensical though they may seem. In your mutual quest to solve the mystery of the [[ForcedSleep sleep-inducing meteorites]], Fischl claims from very early on that this was due to a curse from an unknown power. [[spoiler:Eventually she's proven right when Mona discovers that they came from a long-dead adventurer's dream to scale the giant, snow-covered Pilos Peak.]]
-->'''Mona:''' I'm a little incredulous, but it turns out her blind guess was actually spot-on... Ugh, no, I'm a respectable astrologist, and I shouldn't stoop to that kind of criticism.
* CastingGag: Fischl's Japanese voice actress, Creator/MaayaUchida, is best known for her breakout role of [[LightNovel/LoveChunibyoAndOtherDelusions Rikka Takanashi]], herself a codifier of the {{chuunibyou}} archetype.
* {{Chuunibyou}}: Ohhh, but she's got a case of it. Eyepatch sealing a magical eye, dark and mysterious clothes (including FashionableAsymmetry and black ''nail polish''), black demon wing decorations on her boots, little wing decorations on ''her shoulderblades'', mysterious raven companion, snazzy hand poses, and (fantasies of) slaying dragons with great powers? Her primary gimmick as a character is one extended joke on chuuni-ism and trying to live one's deepest fantasy. Even her ''talent descriptions'' are oozing with flowery language if you take a look at it. There's a degree of irony to this, of course, since she ''actually is'' a rather powerful mage-archer living in a fantasy world; despite this, she still manages to have ludicrous delusions of grandeur.
* {{Corpsing}}: During one of her idle voice lines she begins her speech but unfortunately flubs her lines and ends up stumbling over her words.
--> '''Fischl:''' I created another universe and founded paradise, for I, Fischl, am the Prinzessin der Verurtei— Uh, mm...
* DimensionalTraveler: She claims to be one, similar to the Traveler themselves; she identifies her homeworld as "Immernachtreich"[[note]]slightly mangled German for "the Empire of Eternal Night", with the mangling [[StylisticSuck likely intentional on the part of the writers]][[/note]] and claims it was destroyed in some fashion. Her character story, however, does reveal her background to be just a normal girl who delved too deeply in her fantasies. She is, at least, able to quickly recognize the Traveler for what they are, befitting her strong intuition.
* DoNotCallMePaul: She doesn't want to admit her real name, Amy, as seen on [[https://twitter.com/GenshinImpact/status/1265492955961286657 this official tweet]] and on her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPuUdLQdcxQ Announcement Video]]. Her character stories also block out any mentions of that name from her parents' dialogue lines.
* DorkKnight: A cute chuunibyou girl, especially when she embarrassed when she realizes she dropped her persona towards the end of the “Unreconciled Stars” event. But make no mistake, her battle capabilities are all real, and she can be relied on when it comes to her job of investigating.
* DrivenToSuicide: Heavily implied in her character stories. As described under her FriendlessBackground entry, something sad that she doesn't want to remember happened to her when she was fourteen: she was bullied and rejected by her peers, and her father told her to abandon her childish dreams; then that night, she met Oz, her first friend. Her third in-game story describes the scene of the novel in which the book character Fischl met the book character Oz: it mentions how people denied the novel's protagonist noble stature and 13,000-year royal heritage, her returning home and, out of despair, shedding her blood, being saved from the brink of death by Oz, who at that moment swore loyalty to her. It's a clear analogy of Fischl the playable character meeting her Oz.
* EyepatchOfPower: She ''wants'' hers to be one, at any rate. Whether it's sealing any actual [[MagicalEye magical power]] (as she claims) is currently, shall we say, a matter of interpretation.
* FashionableAsymmetry: She's... going for it, at any rate, with one of her tights/stockings going all the way up and the other [[ZettaiRyouiki stopping just short]], completely different sleeve designs with one ending in a glove and the other not, and two varieties of hair decs, along with the obvious eyepatch.
* FriendlessBackground: Her character stories reveal she was often alone at home, since her parents traveled a lot. This led her to spend most of her time reading novels and becoming enamored with the worlds described in those books, insisting on her father calling her "Fischl" (the name of the protagonist of her favorite series) after he did it once. Because of that, the other kids found her weird and ridiculed her. It wasn't until she was 14 years old that she met Oz, after she came home crying because of being bullied and her father told her she should abandon her childish behavior. The character stories don't specify what exactly happened to her after that, only that it was something sad she doesn't want to remember, but it ended with her receiving a Vision and her newfound Electro powers manifesting as a loyal raven companion.
* FriendlySniper: A bit like Venti and Amber. For all her boasting, she ''is'' a pretty crack shot with her own shortbow, and she's definitely friendly so long as you, ah, acknowledge her position.
* GirlishPigtails: She has short twintails that are tied with black ribbons.
* GlassCannon: Fischl has a very good attack stat, one of the best of all 4-star characters, compounded by the additional firepower Oz can provide. Her defense and HP stats are some of the lowest in the entire game, which isn't helped by ''Midnight Phantasmagoria'' not being an InvulnerableAttack like most characters' Elemental Bursts.
* GratuitousGerman: She uses a ''lot'' of it in her skills and whatnot, at least in language versions that use Latin characters. "Auge der Verurteilung des Großen Kaleidophantasmas"[[note]]Eye of Condemnation of the Great Kaleidophantasm[[/note]], indeed. A lot of it is also kind of questionable linguistically (see above), and there's a decent chance that's [[StylisticSuck not unintended by the writers]]. It even applies to her Specialty Dish, "Die Heilige Sinfonie" (The Holy Symphony).
* HealThyself: With her fourth Constellation upgrade, ''Her Pilgrimage of Bleak'', she can heal some of her HP after using ''Midnight Phantasmagoria''.
* HiddenDepths: At a glance, she seems like a wildly immature and egotistical teen who only works for the Adventurer's Guild as a means of stroking her own ego. As time goes on it becomes clear that she's genuinely altruistic and puts a ''lot'' of work into adventuring to help other people, despite her FriendlessBackground suggesting that the world has generally not been so kind to her.
* LadyOfWar: Boy, she ''wants'' to be one. She wants it more than anything in the world. And she's certainly not ''untalented'', but her ambitions are... perhaps a bit loftier than reality, at present.
* LargeHam: Given her tendency to weave even the simplest of things into a tale of mythical proportions thanks to her [[{{Chuunibyou}} enlightened state]], her hamminess requires a little simplification via Oz. Even her giving well-wishes to a man in stuck in deep sleep feels closer to delivering an obituary.
* MagicalEye: She ''says'' she possesses the "Eye of Judgment" which is sealed by her eyepatch. Does she actually have it... well, question mark. (Her idle pose does feature a sparkle above her ''other'' eye, but a lot of Teyvati magicians could do that regardless.)
* MeaningfulRename: "Fischl" is not her real name, having based it on a character named "Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort, Prinzessin der Verurteilung" from her favorite book series when her father called her "Fischl" after knowing how she loved the story so much.
* MoreDakka: Her first Constellation upgrade, ''Gaze of the Deep'', makes Oz (in a dark sphere form) shoot smaller bullets at her targets whenever she fires her normal shots when Oz is not summoned, increasing her firepower.
* NoblewomansLaugh: She uses these as an affectation on occasion.
* NotGoodWithPeople: Fischl may see Oz as her most loyal companion, but her fourth character story mentions how her obsession with fantasy novels made her unable to fit in with her peers, which in turn, made her lonely and sad.
* OneSteveLimit: According to her fourth character story, her father [[MeaningfulRename renamed her]] from "Amy" to "Fischl" after she read to him the story of "Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort", who holds the title of "Prinzessin der Verurteilung". However, the book ''Legend of the Shattered Halberd (VI)'' mentions the Divine Halberd which is also named "Prinzessin der Verurteilung".
* PurpleProse: She's prone to using overly fancy wordage than is necessary to converse. It's to the point that others, mainly Oz, created guides to help decipher just what she's saying.
-->'''Fischl:''' I hear the voice of fate, calling my name in humble supplication.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: As ever, she claims this is true, saying that "as [Teyvat] reckons it, I have seen three thousand winters". In this instance, Oz is ''particuarly'' swift to point out that, as far as "this world" is concerned, she's not yet of drinking age and she'll never convince a bartender otherwise (with some implication he wouldn't ''let them'' be convinced).
* ShipTease: Her voice lines at Friendship levels 5 and 6 take on a rather shippy edge, as the Traveler's ability to accept her for who she is without question (a fantastically rare thing in her life) begins to sweep her off her feet a bit. In particular, in "About Fischl - V" she actually struggles, for the first time, to remain in character (since the character of Fischl would remain distant and haughty no matter what, but the girl ''beneath'' the character clearly just wants to say how much the Traveler means to her, straight out).
* SprintShoes: If Fischl turns into Oz's form using ''Midnight Phantasmagoria'', her movement speed is significantly increased.
* ThemeNaming: Her real name, Amy, comes from a demon in ''Ars Goetia'' much like the Archons and Paimon's. Whether the connection with the Ars Goetia theme is intentional, or not, remains to be seen.
* TranslationYes: The adventurers have a "Fischl Dictionary", an in-joke "book" that translates her profound and lengthy sentences into something more concise. Her second character story contains several examples of these.
* TrappedInAnotherWorld: Fischl claims to hail from an otherworld. [[{{Chuunibyou}} It is questionable, however.]]
* {{Troperrific}}: Very much on purpose; she's meant to be a massive ball of {{Chuunibyou}} and [[TrappedInAnotherWorld isekai]] tropes, largely for the purpose of comedy.

!!!Tropes exclusive to Oz:
* AffectionateNickname: Fischl's character stories mention that her raven's full name is "Ozvaldo von Hrafnavines". She just calls him "Oz" for short.
* AmbiguousSituation: His very nature is unclear. What is known is that he appeared before his master for the first time alongside her Vision. Whether he really is a genuine living being, or simply an apparition created by either her imagination or her Vision or both, is unclear. If the latter's the case, then there's the question of whether he's fully sentient and has a will of his own, or if his personality comes from Fischl's subconscious.
-->'''Fischl's Vision story entry:''' So, is Oz just an imaginary friend who only exists as a figment of Fischl's subconscious? Our story begins with the royal heirloom, Edelstein der Dunkelheit — that is to say, Fischl's Vision. When her wish was acknowledged, the raven Oz and her Vision both appeared before her eyes.
* AssistCharacter: Oz acts as this for many of Fischl's special attacks.
** ''Nightrider'' summons him into combat, allowing him to fire Electro bolts at enemies, and Fischl transforms into him for ''Midnight Phantasmagoria''.
** With her first passive, ''Stellar Predator'', Fischl can shoot at him with a charged shot to make him summon a thunderbolt, dealing greater damage than the charged arrow, and with the second, ''Lightning Smite'', he will also damage the enemy while the active character has an Electro-related reaction at play.
** With Fischl's first Constellation upgrade, ''Gaze of the Deep'', he fires extra attacks alongside Fischl's normal attacks when he's not summoned by her skills. With the second, ''Devourer of All Sins'', his appearance is accompanied with an extra hit, and he gains wider radius for his attacks. With the sixth, ''Evernight Raven'', his summon duration is increased by 2 seconds, and he does additional Electro attacks whenever the active character deals damage.
* BadassBaritone: Oz's Japanese voice is noticeably deeper voice than the other languages, with the badass part coming from his strength as an AssistCharacter.
* BeleagueredAssistant: Needless to say, poor Oz often has his hands full keeping Am - ahem, ''Fischl'' on task. He also takes it upon himself to try and "translate" occasionally when Fischl's flights of fancy take her particularly above the clouds. He's still highly loyal, though.
* CooldownManipulation: Downplayed as the cooldown itself is not affected, but ''Midnight Phantasmagoria'' effectively doubles as a way to re-summon Oz, particularly if ''Nightrider'' is on cooldown. With the right timing, and with enough Energy gain, she can have Oz be on the field at almost all times.
* {{Familiar}}: Oz is a classic example. He is bound to Fischl and completely loyal to her, as well as possessing magical powers of his own.
* LoyalAnimalCompanion: Oz is a sentient, speech-capable Night Raven and is able to carry Fischl around and assist her both in combat and with her investigations. He's also quite loyal and perfectly polite and respectful, referring to Fischl as "mein fraulein" and generally going along with Fischl's [[{{Chuunibyou}} antics]]. He also has to remind her to attend to the more boring parts of her duties from time to time, and generally keep her on track and not ''too'' carried away.
* SizeShifter: Oz appears to have the ability to change his size, if ''Midnight Phantasmagoria'' is any indication; he's larger than an eagle during that maneuver, but otherwise, he's the size of a fairly typical crow.
* TalkingAnimal: Oz is a talking raven who also speaks using German phrases like Mein Fräulein ("My lady").
* TheAllSeeingAI: Oz can and will actively attack Pyro Agents even after they go invisible.
* {{Thunderbird}}: Oz is basically one, and mechanically is what gets invoked for most of Fischl's combat Electro powers. At full expression, he's also pretty big for a raven--Fischl stands at about five feet or so, and Oz, when he [[FusionDance merges with her]] during ''Midnight Phantasmagoria'', has a wingspan a decent bit longer than she is tall, which makes him a fair bit bigger than any real-life ''corvidae'' and takes him more into the territory of eagles and other large raptors.
* TranslatorBuddy:
** Oz is there to translate Fischl's complex and fantastic vocabulary into simple sentences that can easily be understood by others.
--->'''Fischl''': I, Fischl, Prinzessin der Verurteilung, descend upon this land by the call of fate an— Oh, you are also a traveler from another world? Very well, I grant you permission to travel with me.\\
'''Oz''': She means "Nice to meet you."
** During the "Unreconciled Stars" event, he even briefly reminds Fischl that not everyone can understand what she's saying. Paimon is also curious of the duo's relationship, lampshading this trope:
--->'''Paimon''': Ooooh, so that's what you're for? To translate?
** Amusingly, this gets [[InvertedTrope inverted]] during the final part of the event, when Fischl accidentally drops her {{Chuunibyou}} speech and talks normally, getting embarrassed when Paimon points this out. Oz hastily tries to cover her by re-translating her words back into her usual vocabulary.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Other than Paimon of all people, nobody seems to make any special note of Oz, despite the fact that he's a gigantic raven that glows with purple electro energy and is as intelligent and articulate as a human. It's a bit surprising given that familiars don't seem to be a particularly common thing in Teyvat, for all its general weirdness.

'''Affiliation:''' Mondstadt/[[spoiler:The Seven]]\\\

A mysterious bard who sings songs and poems of old and new tales. Venti is first introduced in the prologue as he interacts with the dragon Stormterror, but disappears into wind as he is spotted by the Traveler and Paimon. What most don't know is that there's something more to this boy and why a dragon is fond of him.

Venti specializes in making himself and his enemies float in midair. His Elemental Skill, ''Skyward Sonnet'', launches enemies upward with an upcurrent; in its charged form he forms an even bigger upcurrent around himself, after which he also hovers in midair. His Elemental Burst, ''Wind's Grand Ode'', has him fire off an arrow made of wind, creating a vortex that sucks in any enemy within range, dealing multiple damage which can be enhanced with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro depending on which element it comes into contact with first.
----
* TheAlcoholic: He is ''very'' fond of both beer and vintage wine.
* TheGadfly: He likes to tease the other party members and when Signora captures him, his reaction is to repeatedly insult her through rhyme.
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: During the "Unreconciled Stars" event, the playable characters' Visions [[NoticeThis glow and produce a noise]] when they are near a meteorite shard... Except for Venti's. [[spoiler:Because his Vision is fake.]]
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: While Barbara notes that her healing powers don't really work on Venti after [[spoiler:he's ambushed by the Fatui at the end of the prologue]], in normal combat her healing works fine on him.
* TheGodsMustBeLazy: [[spoiler:As Barbatos, the God of Freedom, he built Mondstadt intentionally without any leading figure; he knew of the irony of "the god of freedom demanding his people to be free", so he chose to leave the people to their own devices and just be a free, wandering bard. Paimon, naturally, calls him out for being irresponsible.]]
* InSeriesNickname: Venti is named "Tone-Deaf Bard" by Paimon during Prologue Act 2.
* MagicFeather: [[spoiler:His "Vision" is a fake (an ordinary glass sphere), used to avoid suspicion. As the Archon of Anemo, his source of power is the "Gnosis", [[PersonOfHolding located in his body]].]]
* MagicMusic: His music is particularly powerful and charming, leading people who hear his songs to instantly believe in Barbatos. In Prologue Act 3, he uses his music and Holy Lyre der Himmel to dispel the storm barrier covering the Stormterror's Lair.
* TheMagnificent: He's also called "Venti the Bard".
* MeaningfulName: His name is Latin for "wind". Fittingly, [[BlowYouAway his element is Anemo]].
* MrExposition: In the Prologue, he gives off some lore info regarding the world, Mondstadt, and the Archons. It helps that [[spoiler:he is one of the Archons himself]].
* MulticoloredHair: He has black hair that gradates to bright blue in his braids.
* {{Multishot}}: His first Constellation upgrade, ''Splitting Gales'', allows him to fire an extra arrow with his aimed attacks.
* MythologyGag: He's basically themed after Wendy from ''Videogame/HonkaiImpact3rd'', who has a similar color scheme and ability to control the winds. [[spoiler:Both characters also have titles that allude to their powers and godly status (Anemo Archon and Herrscher of Wind, respectively)]].
* NeverGetsDrunk: He does, but it takes much more for Venti to get drunk than a normal person would. During the surprise party for Jean, Venti drinks ''thirty-seven'' mugs of alcohol. Normally, he wouldn't be able to pay for one, but because the drinks are free for the party's attendees, he takes the opportunity and drinks as much as he likes. He doesn't realize that the drinks are only free for the Knights of Favonius, but Diluc knows that Venti could possibly not carry that much around him and would be unable to pay for the drinks anyways, and he comments about how Venti isn't a normal person.
* NiceHat: He's got a green hat with leaf and white flower decoration.
* TheNicknamer: In the webcomic, Venti calls Lord Barca as a "Thick Fat Sausage Stuffing", and gives Vennessa the alias of "Flame-Haired Venness" in his ballads.
* NotSoDifferent: During his story quest he says this word-for-word in regards to Stanley. [[spoiler:Like Stanley, Venti took on the identity of his deceased friend, albeit in different ways.]]
* OlympusMons: Venti is a 5★ character, [[spoiler:and is the god Barbatos in human form]].
* OtherworldlyAndSexuallyAmbiguous: Played with in an amusing way. He himself identifies as a man, but [[spoiler:he, as Barbatos, is seen as this by the people of Mondstadt, likely because [[HaveYouSeenMyGod no one has seen or spoken to him in 500 years]] and the only thing they have to go on is his Bishonen-looking statues and some fairy tales.]]
* PetTheDog: Tries to anyway. At Barbara being distressed over [[spoiler:the destruction of the Holy Lyre]], with her accidentally rubbing salt in the wound by begging Barbatos for forgiveness, he uses magic on the Lyre, seemingly fixing it. Unfortunately, [[spoiler:she takes it from him to return to its place, meaning he can't hide the fact that the magic will wear off and reveal it to still be destroyed.]]
* {{Psychopomp}}: At the end of his story quest (accessible at AR 36), [[spoiler:Venti shows that as Lord Barbatos he can ferry souls away, taking away an old adventurer's friend and giving ''both'' the rest they sorely need.]]
* Really700YearsOld: Seeing as he is [[spoiler:a god and hasn't even been ''seen'' for 500 years prior to the story.]] He appears to be youthful, though InUniverse his ordering of beer doesn't raise any eyebrows, at least by the time the Traveler arrives. In the comic, several years after he helped Vennessa overthrow the tyrant leader of Mondstadt, he still appears the same as he tells the Traveler about Vennessa's legend. [[spoiler:His story quest puts his age at ~2300 years old, and the Liyue Archon quest reveals that out of the original seven archons, he's the only other member remaining besides Rex Lapis, which would make him the second oldest out of the current crop.]]
* ReducedManaCost: In a variant, his ''Windrider'' passive skill reduces the party's stamina consumption of gliding if he's slotted in.
* RegeneratingMana: His second passive, ''Stormeye'', restores 15 Energy after ''Wind's Grand Ode''; if another element is at play, it will also restore Energy for characters whose elements correspond with the extra element at play.
* RhymesOnADime: As a traveling bard, he loves to speak in rhymes. In the comic, his penchant for rhymes even gets to annoy Vennessa, but she comes to enjoy it in the end. When the situation's serious, however, he can speak normally. In the game, he usually speaks normally, but will occasionally rhyme, especially when he intends to tease.
* SadClown: He has a carefree surface, but under the surface Venti has plenty of interactions with the Traveler to indicate he's quite sad inside and simply keeps a happy facade to keep others around him happy. He gets especially upset when recounting the deaths of [[spoiler:friends that he lost to either battle or old age due to his very long lifespan.]]
* SelfDeprecatingHumor: [[spoiler:Venti himself often tells cheeky, irreverent stories about himself as Barbatos to his own people, such as times he allegedly played pranks on his fellow Archons.]]
* StatusBuff: His fourth Constellation upgrade, ''Hurricane of Freedom'', raises his Anemo damage power by 25% for ten seconds whenever he picks up any Elemental Particle/Orb.
* TheStoryteller: Part of him being a bard is telling stories of legends. In particular, in the comic, he tells the Traveler about the story of Vennessa, the lady who brought peace and freedom back to Mondstadt from the tyrannical, whimsical rulers, and who founded the Ordo Favonius, the knights of Mondstadt.
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: He tries to make Barbara feel better about [[spoiler:the destroyed Holy Lyre]] by apparently fixing it with magic. When she takes it from him to return to its place, he reveals after she's gone that [[spoiler:it was a temporary fix]], and [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere suggests he and the Traveler take their leave]].
* TightsUnderShorts: He wears full white tights under shorts, giving him an air of regality while maintaining a youthful appearance.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: He likes apples.
* TragicKeepsake: [[spoiler:His current appearance, actually, modeled in the likeness of a human friend he made back before he became the Anemo Archon.
* UtilityWeapon: The charged form of his ''Skyward Sonnet'' gives him free air lift, allowing you to reach tall places quicker or glide to a distance more easily.
* WeakButSkilled: Venti's damage is rather lackluster despite his status. What he offers though, is incredible crowd control, debuff (through Anemo artifacts), and exploration skills.
* WeaksauceWeakness: He's intensely allergic to cats, so if one steals something from him he's forced to ask someone else to retrieve it for him. Even holding something a cat touched is enough to set off a sneezing fit.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: he mentions that he and Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya used to be close allies long ago, but nowadays things aren't the same anymore.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Since Venti would occasionally sneeze whenever a cat approaches him, he makes it a rule that no cats must be in the vicinity when he's choosing where to perform.
This bites him back in the ass when [[spoiler:he got ambushed by Signora and was too weakened to escape the trap, causing him to lose his [[AmplifierArtifact Gnosis]], which holds most of his authority as one of the Seven Archons.]]
* WindIsGreen: His color scheme is primarily green and he wields Anemo.
* WingedHumanoid: In the comic's prologue, when he reveals his "true self", he appears as an angelic being with white wings that [[FeatherMotif release white feathers]]. He is also shown this way in legends he appears in. In his own story quest, Venti has Anemo wings when he reveals his true identity to Stanley.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: His braids are a bright blue.

As a claymore wielder, Diluc specializes in brute force. His Elemental Skill, ''Searing Onslaught'', lets him deal a fiery slash up to three times, while his Elemental Burst, ''Dawn'', sets his sword alight and summons a phoenix that burns enemies in its path before exploding, while infusing all his normal, charged and plunging attacks with Pyro afterwards for a duration.

'''Affiliation:''' Wolvendom\\\

A mysterious boy who lives and hunts on Wolvendom, a secluded valley west of Mondstadt city, with a pack of wolves. His exact origins are unclear.\\
\\
Like a wolf, Razor fights with sheer aggression. His Elemental Skill, ''Claw and Thunder'', delivers a wild slash that generates Electro Sigils which accelerate his Energy charging; when charged up, he will instead conjure a thunderstorm that deals heavy damage while converting his stocked Electro Sigils into Elemental Particles. His Elemental Burst, ''Lightning Fang'', summons a werewolf-like phantasm which will attack in tandem with him, as well as grant him increased attack speed, Electro resistance, immunity to Electro-charging, and resistance to interruption.
----
* AttackAttackAttack: His kit and playstyle encourages this. ''Claw and Thunder'' grants Electro Sigils that boost his Energy regeneration, so he can get ''Lightning Fang'' out as soon as possible. Guides to Razor emphasize on keeping ''Lightning Fang'' uptime as much as possible.
* BarbarianLongHair: His hair is extremely long, to the point you'd be forgiven to at first think it was a cape.
* TheBerserker: His signature playstyle is to unleash ''Lightning Fang'' as soon as possible and rip the enemy in close combat. And since ''Lightning Fang'' expires when he switches to another party member, there's incentive to stay in combat and unleash as much damage as possible before it expires naturally. And even then, thanks to being built naturally with a high Energy recharge rate (through ''Claw and Thunder''), it's possible for him to refill his energy before ''Lightning Fang'' expires, allowing him to activate it again quickly.
* {{BFS}}: His main weapon is a greatsword.
* BigBrotherInstinct: As weary and exasperated as he may get whenever Klee causes trouble, she indicates in her voice lines that he always protects her from danger, even when she's the cause of said danger (which she admits is usually the case).
* BigDamnHeroes: When Razor makes his first on-screen appearance during his character quest, he saves the Traveler and Paimon from being attacked by a giant slime.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Though the citizens of Mondstadt barely know anything about Razor's background, eyewitnesses claim that he has keen senses and is agile enough to keep up with his wolf pack. Some say that this is a result of him being {{raised by wolves}}.
* ClearMyName: His character story revolves around trying to clear the name of his wolf pack after they're accused of attacking villagers.
* ConnectedAllAlong: Almost everyone who contributed to Razor's growth and character is affiliated with each other, especially the Knights of Favonius; Varka is the one who named him and taught him how to use a sword, Lisa taught him Electro abilities, he befriended the "bright red burny girl" Klee, and has made more Knights of Favonius friends (namely the Traveler and Amber) during his character quest.
* ContemplateOurNavels: Razor was {{raised by wolves}}, but meeting a human for the first time shook his identity, making Razor ask if he's a human or a wolf. In his character quest, Andrius convinces him that he's a human, especially since he now has more human friends, the Traveler and Amber, to prove it.
* CooldownManipulation: His first passive, ''Awakening'', reduces the cooldown time of ''Claw and Thunder'' by 18%, and even resets it altogether if he uses ''Lightning Fang''.
* CoveredWithScars: He has multiple scars in his body as seen on his cheek and arm. These were the results of him living in the wild.
* ElementalPunch: ''Claw and Thunder'', as its name implies, has him clawing at his foes with Electro energy. It creates an Electro Sigil that boosts his Energy recharge (up to three at once). With his fourth Constellation upgrade, ''Bite'', the Skill can also [[DamageIncreasingDebuff reduce enemies' defenses]] for seven seconds.
* ExhaustedEyeBags: While his official artwork has them albeit their very hard to notice, it appears more prominently on his in-game model.
* FightingSpirit: ''Lightning Fang'' summons a spectral wolf made of lightning that follows his attacks with its own.
* FingerlessGloves: He wears a pair of thumbless gloves.
* GroundPunch: His charged version of ''Claw and Thunder'' has him punch the ground with lightning, shocking everything around him. If he has Electro Sigils stocked, this attack will consume them into Energy for charging up ''Lightning Fang''.
* LightningBruiser: [[IncrediblyLamePun Pun notwithstanding]], Razor's a sturdy fighter in his own right, and his Elemental Burst speeds up his slow claymore attack animations, allowing him to bring loads of fast damage.
* OddFriendship: Seems to at least be acquainted with Klee, though for his part he'd really prefer it if she didn't try to help him with hunting.
* RaisedByWolves: Though his origins are unknown, for as long as he can remember, Razor has lived amongst a wolf pack.
* RedBaron: Razor is known in the rumors as the "Wolf Boy".
* ReducedManaCost: In a variant, he has a field passive skill which reduces stamina consumption of sprinting if he's in the party.
* RegeneratingMana: His second passive, ''Hunger'', accelerates his Energy regeneration by 30% if his Energy bar is below 50%.
* ShockAndAwe: His element is Electro.
* SituationalDamageAttack: In a variant, with his second Constellation upgrade, ''Suppression'', [[CriticalHitClass increasing his critical hit rate]] against enemies who have less than 30% HP.
* SpellBlade: His sixth Constellation upgrade, ''Lupus Fulguris'', will charge up his claymore with Electro every ten seconds; his next normal attack will deal Electro damage and, if he isn't currently using ''Lightning Fang'', will grant him an Electro Sigil.
* SpinAttack: His charged attack does this for as long as the button is held, ending with a powerful slash.
* StatusBuff: His first Constellation upgrade, ''Wolf's Instinct'', increases his damage output by 10% for eight seconds whenever he picks up Elemental Particles/Orbs.
* SuperMode: Not only does ''Lightning Fang'' grant him new moves through a [[FightingSpirit spectral wolf]], it also increases his attack speed and Electro resistance, as well as renders him immune to being electro-charged and [[ImmuneToFlinching increases his interruption resistance]].
* SuperSenses: His keen senses allow him to smell a scent from miles away.
* TerseTalker: His sentences tend to be only three or four words long. As a WildChild, his grasp on the common language probably isn't that great.
* TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening: How he gets his Vision. In the past, he and his wolf pack was menaced by an Abyss Mage during a stormy day. Fueled by his desire to protect and avenge his "lupical", he awakened his Electro powers and proceeded to utterly thrash the Abyss Mage with it.
* WildChild: He has lived most of his life amongst wolves and away from humans. He ''can'' communicate very well in the human language, but his dialogue is notably stilted.

[[caption-width-right:350:Enigmatic Astrologer]]

'''Element:''' Hydro\\
'''Weapon:''' Catalyst\\
'''Constellation''': Astrolabos, the Astrolabe\\
'''Specialty Dish:''' Der Weisheit Letzter Schluss (Life) (Satisfying Salad)\\
'''Field Skill:''' Principium of Astrology (25% chance to refund materials while crafting weapon ascension materials)\\
'''Affiliation:''' Hexenzirkel\\\

A knowledgeable astrologist who uses water divination to discern the truth about someone. Even if she loves to develop herself even further into astrology-related stuff, Mona constantly faces a problem of being poor.\\
\\
Mona specializes in hit-and-run spellcasting, as well as a unique form of sprinting, ''Illusory Torrent'', which inflicts Wet on enemies. Her Elemental Skill, ''Mirror Reflection of Doom'', creates a Phantom in her image, which draws enemies, deals gradual Hydro damage, and eventually explodes; if she charges up, she can move backwards before conjuring a Phantom. Her Elemental Burst, ''Stellaris Phantasm'', traps her enemies in a giant bubble (with smaller ones being immobilized) which explode when the enemies trapped take damage, temporarily increasing damage against them.
----
* AbsentMindedProfessor: Not her, but her teacher. She praises her teacher for the latter's astrology teachings, but Mona also calls her a "dimwit" for not knowing basic things of (social) life.
* AlwaysAccurateAttack: Much like Barbara, being a Hydro catalyst user means she summons water ''onto'' enemies rather than using a projectile, and this give her incredible accuracy. As she has much better attack scaling and a kit focused on damage-dealing, this makes her ''very'' good overall and a much more credible attacker than Barbara.
* {{Astrologer}}: Mona's expertise. This also overlaps with her being a {{Seer}} all thanks to her water divination and foresight. Her voiceline comments for some of the other characters mostly focus on the meanings of their constellations, where she explains how the constellations are related to the characters' past or personality. She also makes star-gazing a hobby.
* BilingualBonus: "Megistus" is also Greek for "greatest".
* BrutalHonesty: Always tells the whole truth of people's fortunes, even if it's highly unpleasant. Not surprisingly, this earned her a bad reputation, and few people are brave enough to ask her for predictions these days.
* ButtMonkey: Not to the same extent as [[IdiotHero Amber]] or [[BornUnlucky Bennett]], but her PerpetualPoverty is played for laughs and most of the time she tries to act haughty the player is given the option to reply very [[DeadpanSnarker snarkily.]]
* ChekhovsGun: In a back alley of Mondstadt, there's a door blocked by a [[GeometricMagic circular magic seal]]. No one seems to know how to open it. ''Much'' later, at Adventure Rank 38 or above, you travel with Mona from Liyue to Mondstadt, and (after some shenanigans) she decides to stay there for a while. Her Hydro skills allow her to remove the seal, and the magic lab inside becomes her new home.
* {{Combos}}: Her second Constellation upgrade, ''Lunar Chain'', gives a 20% chance for her normal attack to be immediately followed by a charged attack.
* CutscenePowerToTheMax: During the "Unreconciled Stars" event, she manages to teleport herself, the Traveler, and Fischl, in addition to Oz and Paimon, to avoid an ambush from [[Characters/GenshinImpactTheFatui Scaramouche]] with almost no prep time.
* DamageIncreasingDebuff: ''Stellaris Phantasm'' traps multiple enemies in a giant bubble. When the trapped enemies take a hit, they take increased damage from said hit, and get a debuff that increases the damage of attacks against them that come after. With her first Constellation upgrade, ''Prophecy of Submersion'', Hydro-related elemental reactions against them increase in potency, and with her fourth, ''Prophecy of Oblivion'', any ally attacking them will receive a 15% critical rate boost.
* ADayInTheLimelight: She plays a prominent role in the later half of the "Unreconciled Stars" story event. To the point she is the GuestStarPartyMember in the last part.
* DefeatByModesty: She once tried to take a look at Venti's constellation through the scryglass, then comes a sudden gust disrobing her.
* DevelopersForesight:
** Depending on which is completed first, dialogue upon meeting her in her story quest and the "Unreconciled Stars" event is changed to reflect whether the Traveler has met her before or not.
** It's possible to unlock her second character story entry before the first one, as the latter requires you to have played her story quest first.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Her astrology correctly tells her that the successor to her master's friend will appear to them shortly. She's thrown for a loop however when said successor turns out to be Klee, who inherited not her mother's talents in astrology but in bomb-making, meaning that she can't compare notes to help find the Traveler's sibling.
* DoNotCallMePaul: As seen on her "More about Mona - IV" voiceline, she doesn't want to be called "Meg" (short for Megistus) simply because "Mona" is already sufficient for a shorter name.
* DrawAggro: ''Mirror Reflection of Doom'' has her summon watery "phantoms" to lure enemies away from her. With her first passive, ''Come 'n' Get Me, Hag!'', Mona will automatically create another phantom every two seconds if there are enemies present while sprinting. The ability's description says that astrologists may have dreamed of creating phantoms of themselves to ward off ill fate, but Mona is well known for making such a mockery of the practice.
* ElementalShapeshifter: Her running special ability and plunging attack turns her into a stream of flowing water. It also allows her to rapidly cross bodies of water at running, rather than swimming, speed.
* ExactWords: Her astrology itself correctly tells her to meet with the successor of her master's friend to complete her task, and even tells her when that individual is approaching. Unfortunately for her, it didn't tell her what part of said friend's legacy the successor had inherited, so she's thrown for a loop when she's greeted not by a fellow astrologist but [[MadBomber Klee]].
* EyelidPullTaunt: Her ''Mirror Reflection of Doom'' creates water phantoms that do this to DrawAggro.
* HairFlip: In her character quest's cutscene, she flips her hair when she realizes that the Traveler is not from Teyvat.
* HartmanHips: She is very, uh, ''gifted'' in the thighs department, which her outfit accentuates.
* HonorBeforeReason: Due to her pride as an astrologer who cares more for mysteries and truths of life than wordly attachments, she never uses her divination for profit. In turn, she ends up having [[PerpetualPoverty money and poverty problems]]. She also refuses to see her own fate, as she fears that doing so can turn fate in on itself, which may have dangerous consequences.
* HumiliationConga: Her story quest is just one long case of this. In the beginning, she makes 20,000 Mora then loses it immediately thanks to [[BigEater treating the Traveler and Paimon to a meal]]. Then when she journeys to Mondstadt to find her teacher's rival's successor, she finds out that said "successor" is Klee, who didn't get any teaching of astrology to compare Mona's knowledge with. Mona was tasked to find said successor to retrieve the box that belonged to her teacher, but she ends up unknowingly reading a suspicious book from Klee's bag - which is revealed to be what the box contained, which her teacher forbid her to read. Thus she is forced to remain in hiding in Monstadt for fear of her master finding out that she read her journal, she does so by being forced to rent out an apartment despite being flat broke.
* InterfaceScrew: Having Mona on the field would create a jingling ambient noise from her accessories. Unfortunately, this can interfere with the shimmering sound effect the Seelies make, which may make it harder to notice that one is nearby.
* ItWasAGift: Her Vision used to be a "teaching aid" given to her by her teacher; she treasured it well as it's the only proof of her apprenticeship. Then one day, said teaching aid somehow becomes a Vision.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: Her reaction to seeing Scaramouche is to immediately turn tail and run (and take the Traveler and Fischl along in the process), noting that as a Fatui Harbinger, his power exceeds hers.
* LadyOfBlackMagic: A sensually dressed young aquatic sorceress who has mastered powerful forms of astrological magic.
* LeotardOfPower: Her outfit is a leotard and pantyhose.
* LetsGetDangerous: In the first few scenes of her story quest, she does little besides act haughty, boss you around, and completely fail to hide her financial difficulties. That is, until some "merchants" try to offer the two of you a cart ride to Mondstadt. She immediately recognizes them as bandits and gives them a [[BreakThemByTalking verbal beatdown]], right before teaming up with your party to defeat them with her astrology-themed magic attacks. Paimon and the Traveler are caught off-guard by her actually being able to fight.
* LivingLieDetector: Thanks to her astrology, Mona can tell whether she's being lied to or not. She uses this in her story quest when she reveals a group of merchants offering them a ride to Mondstadt are actually bandits. Her teacher, naturally, is also one; this is partly why she can't go back to her teacher (in her story quest) because she accidentally did something her teacher had forbidden her to do, and she won't be able to hide the fact from her teacher.
* TheMagnificent: She's called "Mona Megistus, the Astrologist" according to one of her voicelines.
* MakingASplash: Mona is a Hydro-elemental who uses water to attack her targets, or move herself across the field. But aside from those, her astrology also uses [[WhateverMancy hydromancy]], AKA water divination.
* MoneyDumb: She has never studied the art of finance, and that's how she's often poor. In one of her voicelines, she mentions the things she has to pay, such as her residence's rent, equipment repair bill, and renewing her journal subscriptions. Then she has this to say:
-->'''Mona:''' ...Ah, [[SkewedPriorities I'll pay off the celestial globe first]], if I leave it any longer they'll sell out and then I'll never get my hands on one...
* MsFanservice: Mona is unquestionably the "fanservice girl" of the initial launch line-up, with her has HartmanHips, [[ShesGotLegs legs for days]], her entire lower body being covered in nothing but skintight hosery, emphasis on her chest, and a bit of a natural pout compared to a lot of the other characters.
* MundaneUtility:
** ''Illusory Torrent'', her ability to transform into a stream of bubbles, lets her rocket across water at sprint speed and generate DrawAggro phantoms every few seconds. Since it's both faster and more stamina-efficient than sprinting, it also sees a lot of use for just "running" from place to place.
** Defied when it comes to her Astrology. Mona explains that the principles of Astrology forbid her from using it for mundane self-interest, which is part of the reason she has such a hard time making money.
* PerpetualPoverty: Mona is always hovering above the poverty line, and at one point, she had to eat mushrooms for an entire month in order to save food expenses. She does have a stable source of income (by contributing her knowledge on a Fontaine newspaper), but as soon as she gets paid, most of her money is immediately spent on her astrology-related apparatus. One of her idle animations has her pull a purse out and checks it; it's completely devoid of money.
* {{Seers}}:
** Mona conducts precise astrological readings using water, and she can discern truth from lies, predict, or look at the fate or future of someone. The first time she meets the Traveler, she name-drops important details like their otherworldly status, their search for their sibling, and the Unknown God. While she admits to having trouble with the Traveler's specifics since they are from another world entirely, the fact that she knows those details at all without having been told by the Traveler themselves is enough to convince them to hear her out.
** She uses her abilities during the Unreconciled Stars event, both to locate when and where meteorite impacts occur and to discover the true origins of the event.
* ShesGotLegs: Similarly to HartmanHips. Good ''lord'' how her legs get emphasized by her outfit.
* SituationalDamageAttack: With her sixth Constellation upgrade, ''Rhetoric of Calamitas'', the longer she's sprinting, the stronger her next ChargedAttack becomes.
* SkilledButNaive: In a way. Her character story says that she has learned the "laws that governed the existence of all things" during her time with her teacher. But after she set out among people's life, she started to doubt the things that she learned, as she found out that good things and deeds can come from "bad people". After that, she felt that she had her feet on solid ground, and that what she had researched was full of holes.
* StatusBuff: Her second passive, ''Waterborne Destiny'', increases her Hydro damage based on her Energy recharge rate.
* TheStoic: Mona relays the true outcome of her readings even if it's hard to accept. It's also said that she seemingly lacks human emotions whenever this happens.
* WalkOnWater: A variant. ''Illusory Torrent'' lets her cross bodies of water at full tilt. Visually, she flows through the water, but mechanically it uses her run speed rather than swimming speed. As always, be careful not to [[SuperDrowningSkills run out of stamina]].
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatPerks: She only views her Vision as little more than a convenient tool for her divining, as she values the "truth" beyond the stars more than any sort of power, even those given by the gods. She does, at least, value it for being (used to be) a gift from her old teacher.
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: In the end of her story quest, Mona is unable to return to her master because she inadvertently read the book her master had warned her not to open - which turned out to be her master's diary. Thus she is currently trapped in Mondstadt until her old master dies.

!!Diona
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/genshin_diona_portrait.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Kätzlein Cocktail]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Ya Nuo (Chinese), Creator/ShioriIzawa (Japanese), Woo Jeong-shin (Korean), Dina Sherman (English)\\
'''Rarity:''' 4★\\
'''Birthday:''' January 18\\
'''Element:''' Cryo\\
'''Weapon:''' Bow\\
'''Constellation:''' Feles, the Cat\\
'''Specialty Dish:''' Definitely Not Bar Food! (Mondstadt Grilled Fish)\\
'''Field Skill:''' Complimentary Bar Food (12% to cook HP-restoring dishes twice)\\
'''Affiliation:''' The Cat's Tail Bar\\\

Daughter of Draff, leader of Springvale, a village of hunters south of Mondstadt, and self-proclaimed "Wine Industry Slayer". Deeply embarrassed by her father whenever he's drunk, she has set off on a one-girl crusade to sabotage Mondstadt's wine industry, starting with applying as bartender at Cat's Tail, where she busies herself making bad-tasting alcoholic drinks. The results... aren't exactly what she expected.\\
\\
Diona balances between long-range offense, defense and healing. Her Elemental Skill, ''Icy Paws'', fires a pair of icy projectiles on enemies and at the same time produces a Cryo-absorbent shield which also infuses Diona with the Cryo status once it wears off; charging it up adds three projectiles as well as increases the shield's resilience. Her Elemental Burst, ''Signature Mix'', tosses a flask of cold beverage that damages enemies and leaves behind a field which continually damages enemies and heals allies.
----
* AnimalMotifs: Cats. Besides her obvious CatGirl aesthetic, she works at the Cat's Tail Bar, her pouch is shaped like a cat's paw, and her Constellation is literally a cat.
* BareYourMidriff: Her outfit has a small opening between her shirt and pants that shows off her navel and some of her stomach.
* BerserkButton: Being praised for her drinks, as she intended them to taste horrible. At one point, Elzer, chairman of Mondstadt's wineries guild, pressed her button especially hard by saying that he wants to recruit her to Dawn Winery and help raise Mondstadt's viticultural profile even higher. He ended up bitten by her.
* BlessedWithSuck: She sees her talent for creating amazing alcoholic drinks as this, given her goal in life and the fact that she ''can't'' make a bad-tasting drink no matter what she does. Her character story shows that she was ''literally'' blessed by a spring fairy in Springvale, making her concoctions always be "refreshing as springs of ever-melting snow". Diona never realized that her "talent" for mixing drinks was because of what happened when she was seven.
* BrokenPedestal: {{Downplayed|Trope}}--her hatred for alcohol stems from her embarrassment at seeing her father Draff make a fool of himself while inebriated, though she doesn't blame him or his drinking habits (she believes her father is faultless) as much as she blames ''alcohol'' itself.
* CatGirl: Diona is a Kätzlein (although her in-game profile says she's only "inherited trace amounts of non-human blood"), evidenced with her feline ears and tail. When she stretches her body, she does so like a cat. Her bloodline makes her and her father skillful hunters. The bar patrons at Cat's Tail once thought the ears and tail are just her gimmicks for her job, but to their surprise, they found out that they're real.
* CombatMedic: ''Signature Mix'' creates a field simultaneously dealing Cryo damage to all enemies and restoring the HP of all characters within the field. With her second passive, ''Drunkards' Farce'', it reduces enemies' power by 10%; with her fourth Constellation upgrade, ''Wine Industry Slayer'', the field will also reduce the charging time of her charged attack, and with her sixth, ''Cat's Tail Closing Time'', the field can either increase the allies' incoming healing if their HP is below 50% or boost their Elemental Mastery stat otherwise.
* TheConfidant: When she was a child Diona used to come out at night and talk with the fairy of a spring south of Springvale. On her seventh birthday, said fairy appeared to her for the last time and gave her a blessing to "have her cup always run over with sweet wine of celebration". Years later, Diona has largely forgotten her encounter, and when she does, she tends to dismiss them as childhood dreams.
* CordonBleughChef: She's to drinks what Xiangling is to food; the difference being that Diona does not intend her drinks to be anything close to tasty. In their voicelines for each other, they exchanged some knowledge in ingredients; while Diona's recipes for Xiangling come out as awful, the latter's intentionally-horrible food combination (as requested by Diona) ends up being well-liked by the bar patrons, which just leaves Diona sighing in frustration.
* DaddysGirl: Diona adores her father except when he's been drinking. So much that this is her motivation to destroy Monstadt's wine industry.
-->"I adore my Daddy more than anyone else! He's the greatest! But... Daddy after he drinks, ugh... Argh! I must bring an end to the wine industry of Mondstadt, and soon! No time for chit-chat!"
* DeflectorShields: ''Icy Paws'' has her shoot a few [[HomingProjectile ice missiles]] at enemies and then set up a Cryo-absorbent shield. If charged, she shoots more missiles and produces a stronger shield, but it has a longer cooldown. With her second Constellation upgrade, ''Shaken, Not Purred'', the missiles become more powerful and the shield more resilient, and in co-op she can also set up a Cryo shield to her teammates with half the resilience of her own.
* EveryoneHasStandards: While she may want to destroy Mondstadt's wine industry, even she knows better than to let [[PersonOfMassDestruction Klee]] near Cat's Tail.
-->"Every time Klee wants to play with me, I take her somewhere far from the tavern. Alcohol and explosives... yeah, that's a dangerous combination! I mean, do I want to destroy the wine industry of Mondstadt? Yes, but not in that sense!"
* GargleBlaster: She intended for her alcoholic concoctions to be so nasty, anyone unfortunate enough to drink it would be turned off from alcohol for the rest of their lives. [[SpringtimeForHitler Now if only they didn't end up bringing in more customers than she'd prefer...]]
* {{Irony}}: She hates alcohol and wants to ruin the wine industry in Mondstadt, hence her self-proclaimed title of "Wine Industry Slayer". Her mixing methods are often described as inscrutable, and her Character Details section states that she doesn't actually intend to make delicious and well-loved cocktails. Therefore, her products are contrary to her supposed goals.
* OlderThanTheyLook: She’s at least old enough to be a bartender, but looks like a child like Klee and Qiqi due to her short stature.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: This was what led to her gaining her Vision--she broke one of her "characters" in order to keep another in place. After she saved her father from a grueling storm, she offered to mix him a drink to ease his injuries, and he gladly appreciated it. At her core, she still loves her father, even if she may not like to see him being drunk (and she still looked down on alcohol after that incident).
* RedBaron: "Wine Industry Slayer", though it's a self-proclaimed title.
* RegeneratingMana: Her first Constellation upgrade, ''Lingering Flavor'', restores 15 Energy once the field generated by her ''Signature Mix'' dissipates.
* SpringtimeForHitler: While Diona intentionally tries to [[GargleBlaster mix horrible drinks]] to turn her customers off from alcohol, they always somehow end up tasting amazing, making her an incredibly popular bartender. She apparently only applied as a bartender as her first step in her plan to destroy Mondstadt's wine industry, that's only really had the opposite effect.
* SprintShoes: Her first passive, ''Cat's Tail Secret Menu'', increases the movement speed of characters while the Cryo shield of ''Icy Paws'' is active, as well as [[ReducedManaCost reduces the Stamina cost of sprinting]].
* {{Tsundere}}: Befitting both a rebellious teenager and a cat, she may sometimes show some "vulnerability" or speaks about something nice, only to act harsh afterward.
-->'''Diona's "Good night" line:''' Without cat vision, will you be okay walking home in the dark? If you need me to escort you... Huh? There's lights? ...Wh-Who said anything about escorting you? Go on now.
* UnseenNoMore: Quite a few [=NPCs=] talked about Diona prior to her addition in version 1.1. These include her father Draff and '''very''' distant relative [[HumanPopsicle Olaf]] following Xiangling's story quest, along with various advertisements for Cat's Tail specifically advertising her as their new bartender.
* UnknownRival: While she despises just about anyone who drinks or has remotely anything to do with alcohol, she sees Diluc as her #1 worst enemy due to him owning the largest winery in Mondstadt. He, a fellow Mondstadt bartender and [[TheTeetotaler teetotaler]] (though for different reasons), however, doesn't seem to realize that. He's even surprised at the thought of another bartender who hates alcohol just like him.
* VagueAge: Diona talks like a child, looks like a child, and acts like a child, but she's a bartender, and the legal drinking age in Tevyat is probably late teens or early twenties.

'''Element:''' Hydro\\

'''Specialty Dish:''' Spicy Stew (Cream Stew)\\
'''Field Skill:''' With My Whole Heart♪ (12% chance to cook HP-restoring dishes twice)\\
'''Affiliation:''' Church of Favonius\\\

Jean's younger sister, a Deaconess of the Favonius Church, and a renowned songstress. Her bubbly, cheerful disposition hides some self-confidence issues and a desire to catch up to her equally famous sister, with whom she hasn't talked to much ever since [[SolomonDivorce their parents separated]].

Barbara is a pure healer through and through, as evidenced by her Elemental Skill, ''Let the Show Begin♪'', which surrounds her with a "Melody Loop", a ring of water droplets resembing a musical staff, and heals the active character over time (as well as immediately damaging enemies upon use), with additional healing if Barbara is attacking, and her Elemental Burst, ''Shining Miracle♪'', which instantly heals the party's HP.
----
* ActorAllusion: Barbara is an IdolSinger, as does her Japanese voice actress, Creator/AkariKitou.
* AlwaysAccurateAttack: A particularly interesting element of her being a Hydro catalyst user is that, unlike other catalysts, her attacks summon water ''at the position'' of the enemy, rather than create a projectile (such as Lisa, Klee or Sucrose). This means that, so long as she actually has line of sight to an enemy and it isn't ''too'' far above or below her, she can always hit it with her normal and charged attacks. While her actual damage scaling isn't great, this still has tons of applications and increases her utility and "true" damage potential immensely compared to her stats on paper, especially while the Melody Loop of ''Let the Show Begin♪'' is active, which allows her to heal allies even while attacking.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Barbara grew up in Jean’s shadow--everything Barbara can do, Jean can do it better. Part of the reason Barbara became an IdolSinger is because she wants to best Jean at ''something'', and while she does not resent Jean for being better at many things and continues to love her despite their separation, she just wanted to find something ''she'' could be good at, too.
* AutoRevive: With her sixth Constellation upgrade, ''Dedicating Everything to You'', a fallen character can be automatically revived to full health, though it can only happen once every fifteen minutes, and Barbara must be in the party (and she cannot revive herself this way).
* BadassPreacher: While not a powerhouse by herself, Barbara is a Deaconness and Vision holder. One of the ways she's capable of healing the party is by damaging the enemy with her water spells.
* BigSisterWorship: Judging from from her voice lines, it's clear she thinks the absolute world of her big sister. However, they find it hard to become close due to the years of growing up separately.
* CooldownManipulation: Her second Constellation upgrade, ''Vitality Burst'', decreases the cooldown of ''Let the Show Begin♪'' by 15%, as well as raises the active character's Hydro damage while the Melody Loop is active.
* DudeMagnet: You can find Albert, a LoonyFan of hers, outside the Cathedral. He even sets up a fan club for her.
* ExplainExplainOhCrap: The flavor text for her Spicy Stew is this with the sudden spice.
--> "Barbara's specialty. Carrots cut into cute little stars make this dish... Wait, AHH, where did this spiciness come from!?"
* GameplayAndStoryIntegration: Should you attack near most [=NPCs=], they'll flinch away from the attack and hold their hands up to their face. If you do it with Barbara, who is a beloved IdolSinger, people will clap instead.
* GirlishPigtails: Sports them to emphasize her upbeat youthfulness.
* GlacierWaif: Don't let her image as a WhiteMagicianGirl fool you; she's one of the tankiest characters in the game when built properly.
* GradualRegeneration: ''Let the Show Begin♪'' recovers a portion of HP for the active character over time.
* HealerSignsOnEarly: Zig-zagged. After Noelle, the next available and first fully dedicated [=F2P=] healer is Barbara, who was given out for free on Version 1.0 after reaching Adventurer Rank 20 (approximately near the end of, or after completing the Prologue chapter), which can take about thirty hours. Players who signed in from Version 1.1 onwards need to take longer and complete the prologue whole to obtain her.
* HealItWithWater: She has Hydro element magic and she can heal her allies with it.
* HeightAngst: Her idle animations include her wondering when she would be as tall as her sister.
* IdolSinger: She's the nearest thing Mondstadt has to one, and in fact learned the very concept of idols from a foreign magazine. This is reflected in her skills, which take the form of visible music. Her character story mentions that her idol performances sounded strange to the people of Mondstadt who are used to the songs of bards, but eventually they embraced her songs, befitting the City of Freedom.
* {{Irony}}: When the party returns the Lyre [[spoiler:in its mangled state]] to her, she has a bit of a breakdown, bemoaning that not even Barbatos forgiving her would let her atone for this sin. [[spoiler:She has no idea that the boy in green in front of her is not only her god incognito, but is also more or less the one who got it destroyed in the first place, albeit not intentionally. Venti obviously feels kind of bad about this.]]
* LifeDrain: ''Let the Show Begin♪'' grants her a buff that lets her recover her allies' HP when she attacks.
* MagicMusic: The theme of her special attacks (though no actual music plays). ''Let the Show Begin♪'' creates a spinning ring of musical staves that heals the active character for a short while, and ''Shining Miracle♪'' is a cutesy IdolSinger flourish that heals the whole team.
* MakingASplash: Her element is Hydro.
* MundaneObjectAmazement: The concept of idols is a foreign thing, especially when you're in Mondstadt, known for being a city of bards. However, Barbara became an idol after reading ''Alice's Idol Magazine''. To make things more mysterious, there are hints that Alice [[spoiler:may not be of this world]].
* NiceGirl: A bright, bubbly girl who strives to help others and bring smiles onto their face in her own ways.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: Combining WhiteMagicianGirl with priestess/deaconess is common; adding IdolSinger to the mix, not so much.
* ObliviousGuiltSlinging: Begging for the Anemo Archon Barbatos' forgiveness [[spoiler:after seeing the Holy Lyre in its destroyed state, not knowing that Venti, who more or less got the Lyre destroyed, is Barbatos himself and is obviously feeling a bit uncomfortable.]]
* ThePollyanna: Barbara is so determined in her role of bringing joy to other people that she doesn't allow herself to be depressed for so long, forcing to brighten up no matter what happens.
* ProperTightsWithASkirt: Wears a pair of white ones under her outfit.
* ReducedManaCost: In a variant, with her second passive skill, ''Encore'', allowing ''Let the Show Begin♪'' to reduce the stamina consumption of the active character by 12%.
* RegeneratingMana: Barbara's first Constellation upgrade, ''Gleeful Songs'', allows her to regenerate 1 Energy every ten seconds. Her fourth, ''Attentiveness Be My Power'', also restores 1 Energy for every enemy hit with her charged attacks (up to 5 at once).
* SameSurnameMeansRelated: Averted, she uses her father's surname while her biological sister Jean uses their mother's.
* SayItWithHearts: Much of her dialogue and the names of her specials feature a musical note (♪).
* StatusBuff: Her second Constellation upgrade, ''Vitality Burst'', allows ''Let the Show Begin♪'' to give some Hydro damage bonus onto the active character, allowing her to support a Hydro attacker.
* StoneWall: As healing in this game scales with the healer's Max HP, Barbara is encouraged to be built as tanky as possible to maximize her effectiveness in this regard. But with both her Elemental Skill and Burst both fixating solely on healing, alongside the aforementioned fact that she's meant to build defensive stats, don't expect her to be a good source of damage.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: She likes anything spicy, which she'll bring up when asked about her favorite food. She'll also occasionally offer a spicy energy drink to the rest of the party when in the overworld. Her specialty dish is even a spicier take on Creamy Stew.
* WasItReallyWorthIt: She believes that an idol can spread joy and relieve other people's fatigue, so she encouraged the blind Glory that her lover would return, or that the sickly Anna would be cured one day. But after she saw how their smiles don't last long, Barbara became doubtful for a while.
* WaterIsWomanly: The main Hydro element mage, and a kind, cheerful deaconess and IdolSinger who wants to help others, focusing her magic on healing.
* WhiteMagicianGirl: The biggest example out of the launch gacha crew - she's a wearer of white, a deaconess, a perky and upbeat IdolSinger, she wants to help people, her damage output isn't great, and she's focused more or less exclusively on healing.
* {{Workaholic}}: Almost as much as her sister; she believes that "hard work is the most miraculous magic of all". The story behind how she got her Vision involved her trying her hardest to sing a lullaby to a crying sick little boy that it left her exhausted and asleep. When she woke up, she saw the boy somehow being cured of his illness and smiling again, as well as the Vision near her hand.

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AiKakuma (Japanese)
->'''Element:''' Cryo
->'''Weapon:''' Polearm
->'''Affiliation:''' Church of Favonius

A cynical nun from the Church of Favonius.
----
* BrutalHonesty: She bluntly tells Barbara she doesn't care about attending church events and that she's wasting her time trying to drag her to one, and also tells off the Traveler for trusting Albedo so easily.
* AnIcePerson: She possesses a cryo vision.
* GoodIsNotNice: Puts Mondstadt's interests at the front and center of her work, and is even willing to share a word of advice to the Traveler, but is otherwise quite the {{jerkass}}.
* GrumpyBear: She refuses to attend church events because she sees them as pointless, even when it's [[NiceGuy Barbara]] trying to persuade her hours before one.
* IceQueen: And not just because of her [[AnIcePerson cryo vision]] or because she was introduced in the Dragonspine update. Rosaria is icy and [[BrutalHonesty isn't afraid to speak her mind]].
* JerkassHasAPoint: In "The Chalk Prince and the Dragon" event, she calls out the Traveler for helping Albedo without knowing of his true intentions, and she suspects that Albedo is hiding a DarkSecret that may endanger Mondstadt. Unbeknownst to the Traveler, she's right.
* MsFanservice: Her choice of clothing is very revealing, especially for a nun. She wears a very tight top that doesn't hide her bust size along with fishnets on her legs.
* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: In "The Chalk Prince and the Dragon" event, she's baffled as to why [[NiceGuy the Traveler]] would be idiotic enough to believe Albedo at face value and help out in his mysterious experiments. She's also introduced as scolding Barbara for thinking she cares about attending an event that the church is holding.
* WeAreStrugglingTogether: Despite Albedo being the Knights' Head Alchemist and Rosaria being one of the church's nuns, she doesn't trust him and even believes he's planning something sinister for Mondstadt.
* VigilanteWoman: Her behavior overall is indicative of this, as she threatened to arrest Paimon and the Traveler for eavesdropping, and even kept a close eye on their activities with Albedo for any signs of a threat to the safety of Mondstadt. Fischl also inadvertently overhears Rosaria in the middle of her enforcement.

* InSeriesNickname: Venti is named "Tone-Deaf Bard" by Paimon during Prologue Act 2.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: He likes apples.
* TragicKeepsake: [[spoiler:His current appearance, actually, modeled in the likeness of a human friend he made back before he became the Anemo Archon.
* UtilityWeapon: The charged form of his ''Skyward Sonnet'' gives him free air lift, allowing you to reach tall places quicker or glide to a distance more easily.

'''Constellation:''' Noctua, the Owl\\
'''Specialty Dish:''' Once Upon a Time in Mondstadt (Pile 'Em Up)\\
'''Field Skill:''' Tradition of the Dawn Knight (Refunds 15% of ores used when forging claymores)\\
'''Affiliation:''' Dawn Winery\\\

A former [[Characters/GenshinImpactTheKnightsOfFavonius Knight of Favonius]] and owner of Dawn Winery, the largest winery in Mondstadt, and its flagship tavern Angel's Share. Leaving the Knights over their attempt to cover up the circumstances surrounding the death of his father Crepus in an ambush led by the Fatui, he nevertheless continues to uphold his vow to protect Mondstadt in his own way, accompanying the Traveler and his former fellow Knights in dealing with Stormterror, as well as moonlighting as the vigilante "Darknight Hero".

----
* TheAce: Diluc trained himself so hard in the ways of a Knight of Favonius, receiving an early promotion that allowed him to become the youngest Cavalry Captain. Even after quitting his position, he's still renowned as the "uncrowned king of Mondstadt" (for being the wealthy owner of the largest wine production there) and one of its strongest fighters.
* AllThereInTheManual: The incident that drove him and Kaeya apart is elaborated late into their character stories, as well as in the official manga.
* AloofAlly: With Jean and Kaeya, whom he still clearly cares for despite their soured relationships after his departure from the Knights of Favonius. He is willing to work with them for a common goal of protecting Mondstadt and foiling the plots of those who would threaten it.
* AnimalMotif: Owls. His constellation is an owl, his mansion has owl busts and he tends to prefer working at night as well.
* AttackAttackAttack: His fourth Constellation upgrade, ''Flowing Flame'', increases the power of the second ''Searing Onslaught'' used in succession, encouraging players to spam it.
* {{BFS}}: His main weapon is a greatsword.
* ByronicHero: One of the most influential people in Mondstadt and enjoys high popularity throughout the country. After his father's death, he's become an AntiHero "with an attitude problem" (in Kaeya's words) who will stop at nothing to take down the Fatui, who set up his father to get killed.
* BrokenPedestal: This is why he decided to quit the Knights of Favonius. Right after his father's death, he was told by the inspector of the knights to "conceal the truth", claiming that it's [[SlaveToPR to maintain the Knights' reputation in the public]]. He, who once believed in the Knights, was offended and chose to resign. That inspector, Eroch, was later outed as a traitor, but the damage had been done.
* CantHoldHisLiquor: The player can hear an ancedote where Diluc drank the equivalent of a shot of vodka and, though maintaining his composure for the rest of the dinner, was so drunk it took him three days to fully sleep it off. It was bad enough that it was rumored that the drink had been poisoned.
* CopHater: The medieval equivalent to it at any rate, since the Knights of Favonius serve a similar role in Mondstadt's law enforcement. He walked out on them when they ordered him to hide the reason behind his father's passing, and he's had three years since then for his negative sentiments to fester. He took up crusading at night since he no longer trusts the Knights to provide Mondstadt the protection it needs.
* TheCowl: In his character story, it's revealed that he is the Darknight Hero, a mysterious vigilante who keeps the city safe after dark. Just like Comicbook/{{Batman}}, he's also a successful enterpreneur by day.
* CrazyPrepared: During his character quest, he is being watched by Huffman in an attempt to expose his identity as the Darknight Hero, so he comes up with a [[PrivacyByDistraction distraction that would send Huffman away]] while Diluc deals with the Abyss Order. When Huffman still suspects him and asks the customers if Diluc went somewhere, they insist that he didn't leave the tavern at all. It's revealed that the customers are from the Dawn Winery and are there at that time to prove their master's alibi... well, except for Kaeya, who was [[HiddenInPlainSight there unnoticed the whole time]].
* CriticalHitClass: He innately gains more CRIT Rate stat as he's leveled up to certain levels.
* CutscenePowerToTheMax: During the "Darknight Hero" sidequest, Diluc gets a cutscene where he blitzes through a group of hilichurls and abyss mages, massacring them effortlessly with a series of high-speed attacks. Right afterward, he joins your team as you fight a few more of each yourself, which takes considerably longer. There's no obvious reason why he couldn't have taken care of the rest of them the same way, without your help.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: On the night of his eighteenth birthday, his caravan was attacked by Ursa the Drake in an ambush orchestrated by the Fatui, forcing his father Crepus to use a Delusion in an ultimately fatal attempt to protect him. The resulting attempt of coverup by the Knights' upper echelon (actually conducted by a traitor) drove a nigh-irreparable wedge between him and the rest of the Knights, especially his adopted brother Kaeya.
* DeadpanSnarker: He's not afraid of calling out the Knights for slacking on their duties, even going as far as to mocking them in front of Jean, the Acting Grand Master.
* DeafComposer: His character story points out that he tend not to drink any alcohol despite working as the head of a winery.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Downplayed. He abandoned the Knights of Favonius, but his social standing was barely affected thanks to being the heir of the Dawn Winery. He's also still fighting to protect Mondstadt at the end of the day, but as a VigilanteMan.
* DefenseMechanismSuperpower: His second constellation upgrade, ''Searing Ember'', increases his attack power and speed whenever he takes damage (stacking up to three times) for ten seconds.
* ElementalHair: Though he very much [[PowerStereotypeFlip averts]] the FieryRedhead trope, his bright red hair does match his element, Pyro.
* {{Expy}}:
** Diluc is obviously a ComicBook/{{Batman}} [[ShoutOut reference]], being a popular and influential businessman who moonlights as a vigilante after the death of his parent.
** He is also very similar to Himeko Murata of another [=miHoYo=] game, ''VideoGame/HonkaiImpact3rd''. Both are red-headed, fiery greatsword wielders who are associated with alcohol. The irony is that while Himeko [[TheAlcoholic loves alcohol]], Diluc hates it and is only working as the head of a winery to succeed his father. Their backstories are almost similar: they used to have a dream that they follow passionately, but they changed their direction in life after their fathers' deaths.
* FamilyBusiness: Diluc inherited the winery and tavern from his late father.
* FamousAncestor: There's a series of in game books named "Ballads of the Squire" which tells the story of the Ragnvindr Knight, who existed back in Vennessa's time. The description of Amos's Bow also mentions another Ragnvindr knight who fought alongside Amos, a nameless bard, and [[spoiler:Barbatos prior to his ascent as Archon]] to topple down Decarabian's tyranny thousands of years ago.
* FlamingSword: ''Dawn'' coats his sword in flames, dealing Pyro damage both with his sword and the phoenix, and which will persist long afterwards. His second passive, ''Blessing of Phoenix'', increases the duration of this buff and increases his Pyro damage.
* FieryStoic: He's a Pyro wielder who is stoic. He was more passionate in the past back when he got his Vision.
* GoodIsNotSoft: In his crusade to protect Mondstadt from the Fatui and the Abyss Order, he's not above using torture as a means of acquiring information.
** When helping the Traveler recover the Lyre der Himmel from the Fatui, it is heavily implied that he beat the whereabouts of the Lyre out of an unidentified Fatui member.
** During his side quest, he uses his Pyro abilities to "persuade" an abyssal mage into deciphering the calling card he received from the Order.
* GratuitousLatin: Diluc and his father Crepus [[ThemeNaming are respectively named after]] the Latin words diluculum ("dawn") and crepusculum ("dusk").
* GuileHero: In a different way from Kaeya: he uses his winery and tavern business as a way to gather intel, in a way to find potential threats to Mondstadt.
* ItsPersonal: Part of why he despises the Fatui is because he apparently had a history with them. The comic shows how, when he was younger, his family's carriage was sabotaged by them on the road, which took his father's life. He then spent some years going across Teyvat trying to find the truth behind his father's death, leading him to thrash numerous Fatui strongholds.
* JackBauerInterrogationTechnique: In his character quest, Diluc burns the butt of an Abyss Mage while interrogating them until they give up. The Traveler also participates by convincing Diluc to use his powers even more.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold:
** Diluc often criticizes or mocks the Knights of Favonius for [[PoliceAreUseless being useless]] despite being a former member of that faction. However, he still cares for the people of Mondstadt, protecting them in his own secret ways even when the Knights aren't involved.
** He is reluctant in sponsoring any event held by the Knights of Favonius. However, he makes an exception to this statement when he lent the Angel's Share tavern for Jean's thank-you party, as a sign of his gratitude for her hard work.
* KnowledgeBroker: He joined an underground intelligence network in the past, which makes him updated on what's happening in Mondstadt. So by the events of the game, the Dawn Winery's intelligence network extends beyond commerical matters. During his character quest, Diluc already knew about the Abyss Order's declaration of war even before the Traveler and Paimon are about to relay it to him.
* LagCancel: ''Searing Onslaught'' can be weaved in between attacks, but its most notable feature is its ability to cancel the recovery from his fourth strike. His sixth Constellation upgrade, ''Flaming Sword, Nemesis of Dark'', allows him to buff the damage and speed of his next two normal attacks within six seconds; with the way it works, you're expected to use ''Searing Onslaught'' after every two strikes of his normal attack.
%%* MakingASplash: Close inspection of the Delusion that he and his father once used is revealed to be Hydro elemental.
* MeaningfulName: His name means "dawn" and he's the owner of Dawn Winery. His Elemental Burst is named exactly "Dawn" and, when he uses it, the screen is tinted in bright orange; if done at night, it's as if the light of dawn has really come for a brief moment.
* PerpetualFrowner: He hardly ever smiles. Klee's line for him lampshades it, calling him "one of the weird grown-ups".
* PlayingWithFire: His element is Pyro.
* PrivacyByDistraction: Since Huffman has been assigned to keep watch on Diluc during nighttime (hoping to expose his identity as the Darknight Hero), Diluc came up with a bait which involved the Traveler luring slimes into the side gate of Mondstadt. Huffman was forced to deal with the slimes, while Diluc deals with the main issue at that time, the Abyss Order waiting in the front gate.
* RedOniBlueOni: The stoic, serious Blue to Kaeya's playful, laidback Red.
* ReducedManaCost: In a variant, his first passive, ''Relentless'', reduces the stamina cost for his ChargedAttack by 50% and extends its duration by three seconds.
* RePower: He discarded his Vision when he defected from the Knights of Favonius. In the manga (which takes place before the events of the game), Diluc [[spoiler:used the same Delusion that belonged to his father]]. When he returned to Mondstadt as the owner of the Dawn Winery and as the vigilante known as "Darknight Hero", Diluc decided to take up his Vision once more. [[spoiler:The Manga shows that Kaeya secretly smuggled Diluc's vision back into his possession, hidden within a vase, behind the pretense that he was making up for breaking a vase earlier in the manga.]]
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections and ScrewTheRulesIHaveMoney: When the Knights of Favonius ordered him to cover up the reason for his father's death, he abandoned his (extremely high) position in anger. Thanks to how popular ''and'' wealthy he is, the incident didn't affect his social standing in the slightest.
* SelfDeprecation: Whenever he's in public, Diluc frowns in disgust if he hears a mention of the "Darknight Hero". In reality, Diluc ''himself'' is the Darknight Hero who's praised by the citizens. Elzer of the Mondstadt's Wine Guild knows his secret identity, and thinks that Diluc is just keeping an act of disapproval to protect himself. The truth is that he didn't come up with the identity and he thought the name is simply stupid.
* SempaiKouhai: While he is referred to as "Master Diluc" in the English dubbing, Jean refers to Diluc as "sempai" in Japanese, noting his previous service in the Knights of Favonius.
* ShapingYourAttacks: ''Dawn'' has him shoot a phoenix-shaped SwordBeam towards his target.
* SiblingYinYang: With his adoptive brother Kaeya. Diluc has a Pyro vision, a red-and-black color scheme, and skin so pale it's almost white; Kaeya has a Cryo vision, a blue-and-white color scheme, and tanned skin. Diluc lost faith in the Knights of Favonius and left, while Kaeya stayed.
* SimpleYetAwesome: Diluc's kit is very simple. His Elemental Skill is simply a ThreeStrikeCombo, and his Burst is a SwordBeam and SpellBlade. But being a [[{{BFS}} claymore]] user, his attacks hit very hard, and his Elemental Skill can be weaved in between attacks, not to mention effectively having about 3-second cooldown per use on average.
* SituationalDamageAttack: With his first Constellation upgrade, ''Conviction'', Diluc deals 15% more damage to the target if they still have over 50% HP.
* TakeAThirdOption: His dislike of the Fatui is so much he goes with this quote.
--> "If I were to choose between 'eating a Cryo Slime' or 'Joining the Fatui...' ...[[WouldRatherSuffer I'd prefer to be crushed to death by a meteorite.]]"
* TheTeetotaler: He mentions that he dislikes the feel of alcohol in his mouth, and would rather enjoy a glass of grape juice. According to an anecdote, he was forced to drink a very strong alcohol to keep face; he could keep himself composed, but then he fell sick for three days afterward.
* UsedToBeASweetKid: Back when he was younger, he was very energetic and passionate about being a Knight of Favonius, more befitting his Vision (which he got at a young age). But [[CynicismCatalyst the death of his father]] changed everything, no less due to the circumstances around it, that made him grew cynical and bitter.
* VigilanteMan: He protects the city from monsters and criminals at night as the "Darknight Hero". He didn't choose the name for himself, however, and didn't expect to become a sort of folk hero. It's also connected to how he dislikes the Knights of Favonius because they're a SlaveToPR who's tied too much with the "diplomacy" business.
* WeaponOfChoice: While you can give him any claymore you wish, the claymore most associated with Diluc is the Favonius Greatsword. It may have been his trusted weapon from his Knights of Favonius days.
* WellDoneSonGuy: When Diluc was still young, he was praised by his comrades and the citizens for all of his accomplishments as a Knight of Favonius. However, his greatest motivation cameinflvy from hearing the praises of his father Crepus.
* WineIsClassy: He's a classy and dignified young entrepreneur who owns and oversees a winery and tavern. That said, the manga suggests Diluc isn't fond of wine himself, as he serves juice to Kaeya while serving as the bartender of Angel's Share. When you talk to a bartender in the tavern, he mentions that Diluc is simply continuing his father's work.
