Ho Yay is a strictly YMMV trope, pls list such things on the relevant page.

* HoYay[[invoked]]: In-Universe. Itto has a very loud crush on Ms. Hina, claiming to be her number one fan. While he's too dense to make the connection that Gorou is actually the ghostwriter for Ms. Hina, he comments that Gorou makes him all warm and fuzzy inside, as if he understands his innermost feelings. Though he worries it might be kind of weird as he barely knows anything about Gorou. All the while unaware that the crush he's been exchanging letters with is indeed him {{Disguised in Drag}}. This gets boosted even further by their symbiotic gameplay mechanics when they're both in the same party.

* InterclassFriendship: Itto's surprisingly well-connected despite being a boisterous troublemaker who has little legitimate social status or wealth that has some issue avoiding jail, especially with how hierarchical Inazuma's culture is - He's friends with Ayato, head of the Yashiro Commission and Kamisato family, his retainer Thoma, a capable fixer in his own right, Yae Miko, Guuji of the nation's mainstream religion and {{Familiar}} to the Raiden Shogun herself and Gorou, primary general of the Watatsumi army. Not that he's particularly aware of the high status of the first three, nor would he likely care about such things.

* UnknowinglyInLove: Itto feels warm fuzzy butterflies around Gorou, something about him is familiar and makes Itto feel like he could tell him anything. ''Whatever that means.''

* RecurringCharacter: Though appearing after the conclusion of Inazuma's storyline and being relegated to a satellite character during the Chasm Quest, Itto has been a frequent encounter in many events either dedicated to the Arataki Gang's antics or with him goofing around in whatever other event he appears in; In fact, it might not be an exaggeration to say he is one of the most - if not '''the''' most recurring character in the history of all Genshin events, standing only as an equal to Charlotte since her first appearance before the Fontaine quests kicked off (and she has an excuse of her own, being a journalist traveling all around Teyvat and all). Even Shinobu, his sidekick, doesn't always appear in Arataki Gang-focused events!

* SimpleYetAwesome: As a Geo Vision holder, Itto can't do any reaction other than Crystallize, and his Talents are pretty basic other than his mechanically unusual ChargedAttack. But his Elemental Skill hits ''hard'', and his Burst boosts his damage off the roof, fitting his combat philosophy of simply hitting hard.

* SweetPollyOliver: a {{Zig|Zagging Trope}}-zagged male example; He has a crush on Ms. Hina who is actually Gorou {{Disguised in Drag}}. Gorou nonetheless seems to act as a {{Closet Key}} for Itto who feels a strong pull toward Gorou, even if he can't quite put his finger on why.

* TattooedCrook: {{Subverted|Trope}}. Fittingly for both an oni and gang leader, Itto's upper body and arms have tattoos over them; however, Itto is also living proof that the group is a gang in name, not actually dangerous so much as just annoying, and pretty friendly once you get to know him well.

** In Heizou's Hangout Event where he's supposed to play a con victim in a short play, his character ends up narrowly avoiding handing over his hard-earned money by questioning how a Doushin can get paid enough to get the Shogun out of a hostage crisis and sponsor a Miss Hina book[[note]] part of the scam involved presenting Itto, who's playing the Doushin, with ransom notes requesting 200,000 and 300,000 mora respectively, with Itto's pay in the play being 500,000[[/note]]. If the Traveler encourages him to follow his heart, Itto will come to the conclusion that ''his character is the conman'' and his paycheck is a fake he made. He then proceeds to have a "HeelRealization" and tells Etsu and Iba, his fellow actors who are playing the actual con artists (and themselves real-world con artists who had to participate in exchange for a commutal of the former's sentence and enough monetary compensation for latter to fund his granddaughter's overseas travels), that he'll get a real check to pay them with, much to their bafflement. Heizou, who's serving as the narrator, notes that Itto avoided getting defrauded in a rather unconventional manner.

* TrueCompanions: A firm believer in this. Whether he's known you for fifteen years or fifteen minutes, if he's decided you're part of the team then you're getting the full package from the one and Oni. He doesn't like infighting very much, so when things get heated between teammates his first instinct is to do something shocking to break the tension. In ''Perilous Trail'', when Yelan and Xiao start arguing about Xiao's risky plan to use all his might to tear and hold open a rift in reality that ''might'' allow everyone else to escape at the cost of leaving Xiao behind, Itto interrupts them by [[spoiler:using all ''his'' strength to bust a hole the wall under the slightly-mistaken belief that this would do the job]], with Shinobu explaining this to not be a sacrifice but merely a duty, and that Itto trusts that they'd take him with them when they make their escape.

* WisdomFromTheGutter: Believe it or not, there are a few life lessons to be learned in the Arataki Gang:
** Itto is the way he is partly because he refuses to be anything but himself. This stubbornness often gets him into trouble, but he and his gang are all content with it. Shinobu sticks by his side despite her talents because, to her, a chaotic yet free-wheeling life with the gang is more fulfilling than a cushy yet restrictive job as a shrine maiden. Contrast Takuya, [[spoiler: who compromised his values and morals out of desperation to give the Blue Oni a better living standard only to end up miserable for it.]]

* SuperGullible: In line with his status as a DumbMuscle, Itto can be rather easily tricked, such as in "The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival", where he ended up buying a regular old drum for 80,000 Mora, with even his ever loyal Gang realizing that he got duped. Tellingly, in a branch of Heizou's Hangout Event where you help him set up an anti-fraud event, the Traveler and Paimon are quick to suggest Itto as someone to play the scam victim in the short play. Then, as if to add insult to injury, Heizou got him to agree to it in the first place by showing him a picture of what appeared to be an Onikabuto, only for the real thing to turn out to be a figurine.

And while you'd expect this to slip Itto's mind by the next time you see him, his surprise reappearance in the "Receiving Friends From Afar" event shows that he’s making good on his word, having recently gotten work as a sailor.

He often posts ridiculous demands for a rematch against Sara on Inazuma's bulletin boards, even long after recovering his Vision. The Traveler first meets him after the Vision Hunt Decree's abolishment when investigating a crime, learning from the Oni about the "why" of his willingness to accept and care for other people; sometime later, he and Shinobu meet the Traveler again during a trip to the Chasm in Liyue where, alongside other familiar faces, he beholds an incident involving one of the five foremost Yakshas.\\
