As of the end of [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E4OneBadApple "One Bad Apple"]], a fourth Crusader, Babs Seed, has joined; she plans to start up a CMC branch in Manehattan. * FreeRangeChildren: There are quite a few moments you'd see them wandering around places outside Ponyville without any adult supervision, which is odd as they are young kids and are shown to need supervision throughout the series. Of note, in "For Whome the Sweetie Belle Toils" they left Ponyville and made made dash for Canterlot to fix the dress Sweetie Belle ruined that Rarity is going to present(before it was going to be presented), on their own without so much as notifying anyone (although this could be excused that they rushed off, in a hurry, without permission to begin with, so its not like they were allowed to leave for a different city on their own normally.)

* HolyHalo: Seen twice in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E17StareMaster "Stare Master"]], whenever Fluttershy refers to them as "sweet little angels".

* PromotionToOpeningTitles: As of the second opening (introduced in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E3LessonZero "Lesson Zero"]]), then promoted again in season 4 when they're made part of the picture that was initially just of the Mane Six.

Apple Bloom is Applejack and Big Macintosh's little sister, an [[{{Moe}} adorable]] earth pony with a yellow coat and fluffy pinkish-red mane. In "Call of the Cutie", she became very insecure about not having her cutie mark yet and began [[DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife desperately searching for her special talent]]. After learning two of her classmates had the same problem, she formed a PowerTrio with them in order to work together towards the same goal. Her special talent has been variously hinted as being repairing and/or buildings things (especially with wood)[[note]]in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E18TheShowStoppers "The Show Stoppers"]], she's revealed to have fixed up their clubhouse more or less singlehandedly, and she's the one who offers advice on creating the sets to Sweetie Belle, prompting the others to suggest that maybe she should be doing the sets[[/note]], or potion brewing[[note]]she created a potion that infected her with Cutie Pox in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E6TheCutiePox "The Cutie Pox"]], created the LovePotion that went wrong in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E17HeartsAndHoovesDay "Hearts and Hooves Day"]], and is shown studying potion-brewing in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E15TwilightTime "Twilight Time"]], and doing quite well at it[[/note]].

* AdaptationNameChange: She's called Apple Blossom in the ''Sparkle World'' story ''The Hero of Ponyville!'' and at one point in the [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E23TheCutieMarkChronicles "The Cutie Mark Chronicles"]]-based storybook ''Cutie Mark Quest''. Creator/LaurenFaust [[WordOfGod has said]] she originally intended that to be her name, but got hit with an ExecutiveVeto late in pre-production, probably due to trademark concerns. Those two stories were among the first ever written.

* FieryRedhead: Especially aggressive when she's in PluckyGirl mode. In [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E17SomeponyToWatchOverMe "Somepony to Watch Over Me"]], Scootaloo says she does everything "with ''sass."''

* WrenchWench: [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E18TheShowStoppers "The Show Stoppers"]] implies that her talent lies in construction and design. At the very least, she was able to make Applejack's ugly old tree-house habitable.

An orange Pegasus with short, hot pink hair and purple eyes, Scootaloo is one of Apple Bloom's classmates. Though she originally hid the fact she hadn't earned her cutie mark yet, she and Sweetie Belle stood up for Apple Bloom during "Call of the Cutie" and became fast friends, forging the Cutie Mark Crusaders so that they could search for their talents together. A brash {{Tomboy}}, she effectively serves as the PowerTrio's equivalent to her idol, Rainbow Dash. She has a scooter that she's ''very good'' at riding '''really fast'''. Her special talent has been variously hinted at being speed and/or stunts on her scooter[[note]]various episodes, most prominent in Season 4's [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E5FlightToTheFinish "Flight to the Finish"]], where she manages to ''drive her scooter from Ponyville to the Crystal Empire'', '''faster than a steam train''', ''while carrying the other Crusaders''[[/note]], physical athleticism and/or dancing[[note]]beyond her various moments as a PintSizedPowerhouse, in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E18TheShowStoppers "The Show Stoppers"]], she's shown instructing Apple Bloom on how best to dance, and Apple Bloom suggests that maybe she should be their dance choreographer[[/note]], and engineering[[note]]she was shown working on the engine of the float that the Crusaders used in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E4OneBadApple "One Bad Apple"]], and she's been shown studying how to disassemble, fix and reassemble scooters and unicycles in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E15TwilightTime "Twilight Time"]][[/note]].

* HollywoodToneDeaf: In [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E18TheShowStoppers "The Show Stoppers"]], she's horribly off-key. Averted in that compared to other instances of this trope, the "CMC Theme Song" really isn't ''that'' bad. Played straight because Maddie Peters is a ''much'' better singer than that, as we find out in [[http://youtu.be/oMjNmShuijg "Babs Seed"]]. DoubleSubverted because Maddie isn't formally trained like Michelle is, so even her best singing isn't up to Michelle's level. Basically, her singing ability is slightly above Claire's.

Another of Apple Bloom and Scootaloo's classmates, and the [[TomboyAndGirlyGirl Girly Girl]] to Scoot's {{Tomboy}}, this unicorn rounds out the CMC trinity. Like them, she has yet to discover her cutie mark and helps found the Cutie Mark Crusaders in hopes of discovering it. Idolizes her older sister Rarity and would like to follow her down the same career path, but isn't particularly good at it yet. Has a knack for singing and making up melodies, but balks at the thought of singing for an audience. It's strongly implied that singing and music are her special talent, but her StageFright keeps her from realizing this. In [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E15TwilightTime "Twilight Time"]], she's depicted studying magic under Twilight Sparkle, but it's unclear if this is a hint she may have a magic-related talent, or is simply her learning how to use the powers she can't yet control.

* AllThereInTheManual: Her room first appeared in the German [[ComicBookAdaptation magazine comic]] ''Einfach rufus'', looking completely different from its first onscreen appearance in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E4OneBadApple "One Bad Apple"]].

* MindOverMatter: When she was introduced, she didn't have any magical ability at all. In Season 3, she would shoot green sparks out of her horn when she got excited, but she doesn't get full use of her unicorn telekinesis until Twilight Sparkle trained her in Season 4's [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS4E15TwilightTime "Twilight Time"]].
