** Though he is perpetually silent, Jason also clearly does not react well to being bullied or insulted. This likely stems from his former life as an ostracized child.

[[caption-width-right:257:Step 1: Destroy Jason's corpse. Step 2: Muck it up and resurrect him instead. Step 3: Profit?]]

->''"Jason belongs in Hell. And I'm gonna see that he gets there."''

Closest thing the franchise had for a recurring protagonist, Tommy was young boy who had interest in all things horror and was a good amateur FX creator. Just like any ''Friday the 13th'' survivor-to-be, he was forced to fight for his life when Jason was on yet another killing spree near his family's place. With the help of his sister he manages to bring Jason down for good, leaving him [[HarmfulToMinors heavily traumatized]] in the process. He spends many years in mental institutions, and at his worst mental
state almost becomes a replacement for Jason. Some time later he attempts to cremate Jason's body, so he can be finally released from the demons of his past. [[NiceJobBreakingItHero This goes spectacularly wrong]] and he is forced to fight Jason once more.

[-Played by: Corey Feldman (''[[Film/FridayThe13thTheFinalChapter The Final Chapter]]'' and ''[[Film/FridayThe13thPartVANewBeginning Part V]]''), John Shepherd (''[[Film/FridayThe13thPartVANewBeginning Part V]]'') and Thom Mathews (''[[Film/FridayThe13thPartVIJasonLives Part VI]]'').-]

%%* ActionSurvivor
* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: The final twist of ''Part V'' shows him adopting the Jason persona. [[AbortedArc This angle was dropped]] for ''Part VI''.
* ArchEnemy: He's the Nancy Thompson to Jason's Freddy.
* AxeCrazy: During ''Part V'', as WrestlerInAllOfUs shown that Tommy wasn't all there in his mind and was damn near psychotic, nearly killing people in his rage induced wake.
* BadassAdorable: The first time he killed Jason was when he was a young boy.
* BrokenBird: Was forced to kill the maniac who murdered his mother.
* CovertPervert: In his first movie, Tommy doesn't miss a chance to see a girl naked. It evolves to ChivalrousPervert, when he makes out with Megan in order to trick his guard into fighting him so he could escape from jail.
* FlashbackEcho: He sometimes flashbacks to the moment he continuously hacked Jason's barely living corpse to ensure his death.
* {{Foil}}: Both have dead mothers obsession with killing
* GenreSavvy: After discovering about Jason's past, he shaves his head to appear like him for distraction and ultimately to kill him.
* {{Hallucinations}}: He sees apparitions of Jason in ''Part V''.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: In Part VI; the cops end up believing that ''he's'' behind Jason's killings.
* HeroicBSOD: He should be the poster child of this trope.
* IShouldWriteABookAboutThis: It's mentioned in the spin-off novel ''Carnival of Maniacs'' that he authored several.
* ImportantHaircut: As mentioned above. Also a TraumaticHaircut.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Is the one responsible for Jason becoming an unstoppable zombie. In his defense he THOUGHT he'd put him back down.
* OneOfTheseThingsIsNotLikeTheOthers: He is the only male character in Friday the 13th to defy the FinalGirl trope three times. Four if you count ''ComicBook/FreddyVsJasonVsAsh''.
* TheQuietOne: In ''Part V'', he talks very little to the other characters in Pinhurst.
* TagalongKid: To his sister in ''The Final Chapter''.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Pulls off some nice throws and slams in ''Part V.''

!Jason Voorhees (The 2009 reboot)
[[quoteright:273:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jasonremake2_5916.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:273:DevelopmentHell says: "ToBeContinued".]]

As TurnOfTheMillennium came to pass, previous continuity of ''Friday the 13th'' films were rebooted along with our masked slasher.

Jason has now returned to his roots of the first films: He is once again a territorial survivalist who lives in the abandoned Camp Crystal Lake and slays anyone who dares to disturb its peace.

[-Played by: Galeb Guss (as a child) and Derek Mears-]

%%* AxCrazy
* BaldOfEvil: This time from the very start.
* BigBad: Of the reboot.
* CoolMask: Even he thinks that hockey masks are cool, as he outright abandons his makeshift sack-mask when he finds one in Donnie's warehouse.
* CrazySurvivalist: More so than in the original series.
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: As per the original.
* GeniusBruiser: This Jason acts more of a cunning predator rather as a mindless brute that the original one was.
* HeroKiller: [[spoiler:Kills [[DecoyProtagonist fake]] {{final girl}} Jenna near the end.]]
* IdiotSavant: This version of Jason is far more like a predator than the blunt instrument of the original. He digs out an extensive tunnel network, and deliberately uses hunting tactics to winnow out or kill his victims. He is, however, still a mentally deficient child grown up into a PsychopathicManchild.
** OlderThanTheyThink: The original Jason was also fairly cunning and had at least one instance of using a trap to kill his victim (a snare trap to allow him to calmly walk in and slit a throat, in his very first film). It was after becoming undead that he became more of a blunt instrument.
* LeanAndMean: Not so tall as in ''Freddy vs. Jason'', but he is now thinner than in the original series.
* MacheteMayhem: As expected.
* RedRightHand: His deformed features.
* SilentAntagonist: He never got a chance to say anything.
* TunnelKing: The first real differentiation from the past, as he has dug a tunnel network under the Camp Crystal Lake and around the residing areas prior to events in [[Film/FridayThe13th2009 the reboot]]. It also works as a justification for his MobileMenace tendencies.
* TheVoiceless: He gets ''hanged by a metal chain'' and doesn't make a sound.

----
!Pamela Voorhees
[[quoteright:246:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/PamelaBerserk_7436.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:246:MY SON IS DEAD.]]

->''"She can't hide. No place to hide."''

Jason's mother and the former cook of Camp Crystal Lake. When Jason disappeared into Crystal Lake due to lack of attention from the camp counselors, she went insane with grief. One year later she killed two counselors and the camp was closed. Following years have her stopping any attempt to reopen the place, either killing or sabotaging things until camp's again left alone. She met her demise during such deed and her later appearances in the series are limited to {{hallucinations}} and {{nightmare|Sequence}}s that other people are having.

She has a brief appearance in the opening minutes of [[Film/FridayThe13th2009 the reboot]].

[-Played by: Betsy Palmer ([[Film/FridayThe13th1980 first film]] and ''[[Film/FridayThe13thPart2 Part 2]]''), Connie Hogan, Marlyn Poucher (both in ''[[Film/FridayThe13thPartIII Part III]]''), Paula Shaw (''Film/FreddyVsJason'') and Creator/NanaVisitor ([[Film/FridayThe13th2009 the reboot]]).-]

* AxCrazy: A more subtle case compared to her son, but as the first film shows, Jason's death has reduced her to a raving, psychotic madwoman.
* BadSamaritan / BitchInSheepsClothing: In her initial appearance, she seems nice and helpful person. She then asks Alice if she knew that a young boy drowned...
* BigBad: Of Part 1.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: Of the whole original series, as the first film was made with no sequel in mind, making a her a PredecessorVillain as sorts as well.
* EvilChef: Only in a technicality, as she doesn't use her cook status for villainy.
* HearingVoices: According to [[AllThereInTheManual supplementary materials.]]
* InsaneEqualsViolent: "Went insane with grief" in this case equals death and mayhem for anyone who dares to reopen the place of her son's death.
* KnifeNut: She has a bowie knife and puts it to good use.
* MamaBear: A psychotic example.
* MyBelovedSmother: Depending on what extra materials you are reading, she was either an incredibly smothering mother, or flat out incestous with Jason.
* OffWithHisHead: She died when she was decapitated by Alice. In SlowMotion.
* PowerBornOfMadness: This is the most plausible explanation for the otherwise more improbable feats seen, such as arrowing a grown man to a door a good six inches off the ground, and hurling a body through a window.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: Another explanation for her actions. Jason drowned while the counsellors were having sex and smoking drugs, so she decides to return the sentiment.
* SplitPersonality: The way she [[TalkingToThemself talks to herself]] mimicking Jason's voice suggests this.
* StartOfDarkness: The comic miniseries ''Pamela's Tale''.
* StrangerBehindTheMask: There's only a brief mention of her before she appears and reveals that she is the one behind the murders.
* TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse: Unlike her hideously deformed son, she looks like a normal middle-aged woman.
* TraumaButton: After Jason's supposed death at Camp Crystal Lake, any attempt to reopen the place triggers her to sabotage things in order to stop it, so that no one has share her son's fate.
* VillainousLegacy: Killing and being killed in turn brought Jason back to the outside world, and now he kills for her.
* WalkingSpoiler: She has no presence in the story until the climax, and is this because of it.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: She wants to keep the Camp closed so no one would end up like Jason.
* WouldntHurtAChild: In the opening scene long before her reveal, a POV of her is shown checking on the sleeping children in the camp. She then proceeds to kill two counselors that were in a nearby cabin, having sex.

!Roy Burns

[[quoteright:284:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ed12fbaaa24638f0a227f7ba722fd321.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:284:[[BarrierBustingBlow *CRASH*]] WHAT SHE SAID.]]

->''"I thought you were talking to me."''

The infamous copycat killer of ''[[Film/FridayThe13thPartVANewBeginning Part V: A New Beginning]]''. He was an ambulance driver in Crystal Lake who in the past had an illegitimate child. That child was Joey, who was brutally murdered at the Pinehurst halfway-house. After learning about his son's death, Roy went into a murderous frenzy and spent next two days killing anyone near the place disguised as Jason.

[-Played by: Dick Wieland (unmasked), Tom Morga and John Hock (when masked).-]

* BigBad: Of ''Part V''.
* CoolMask: Roy wears a hockey mask similar to Jason's, albeit it has blue markings instead of red ones.
* DemonicPossession: The {{Novelization}} of ''Part VI'' hints that he was in fact possessed by Jason's spirit, which then drove him to kill. This isn't played up in ''Part V'', but its ending supports this. It's up to the watcher if this is {{canon}} or not , if they consider the film to be [[FanonDiscontinuity canon in the first place]].
* {{Determinator}}: Roy doesn't share Jason's inherent MadeOfIron status, as he is shown to feel the injuries and pain inflicted upon him. Despite that, he still keeps on going until his death.
* DisneyVillainDeath: Falls off the top of a barn loft onto a tractor harrows.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Went after everybody ''except'' the guy who killed his son.
* TheDogWasTheMastermind: He was onscreen unmasked for a minute, tops.
* {{Expy}}: Of both Jason and Pamela Voorhees. His jumpsuit is also very [[Franchise/{{Halloween}} Myers]]-esque. The latter fact itself is ironic as Morga had played Michael a couple of years later for a brief scene in ''Film/Halloween4TheReturnOfMichaelMyers'', thus making him the only actor to play both Michael Myers and to some extent, Jason Voorhees.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: He falls to his doom when Tommy cuts his hand with his own machete.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Died when he fell on to tractor harrows sitting right next to the barn where ''Part V'''s climactic battle took place.
* ImplacableMan: Not as much as Jason, though.
* JackTheRipoff: Copies Jason's look for his murders.
* MacheteMayhem: Machete is his main weapon in the climax, albeit one with sleeker design which real Jason usually used.
* MotiveDecay: Though his murderous rampage was started by the murder of his son, he didn't go to the one person who was directly involved.
* PapaWolf: A psychotic example, just like Pamela.
* SanitySlippage: His son's death drove him insane.
* SilentAntagonist: He can speak, but he does not do so while dressed as Jason.
* SpearCounterpart: To Pamela, as he shares her FreudianExcuse (death of son) and modus operandi (killing people, and putting the blame on the legend of Jason).
* TragicVillain: Suffered a mental breakdown after his son was killed.
* WalkingSpoiler: He has only two unmasked scenes prior to the reveal, so any mention of him will eventually spoil twist.

!Alice Hardy

[[caption-width-right:212:Poor Alice, she only survived to die after a CatScare.]]

->''"The boy... Is he dead too?"''

Alice was one of the counselors who was hired for the restoration of Camp Crystal Lake. A talented artist, it was also implied that she had an affair with camp's current owner Steve Christy. She was forced to kill Pamela Voorhees when she revealed to her that she was responsible for all the misfortune the camp had gone through the past years and attacked her. Afterwards, she would have very prophetic nightmare of Jason attacking her...

The girl who kills Mrs. Voorhees in [[Film/FridayThe13th2009 the reboot]]'s opening may or may not be Alice.

[-Played by: Adrienne King-]

* DecoyProtagonist: Of Part 2.
* FinalGirl: She has the high honor of being the first in a long line of ''Friday the 13th'' heroines. Rare in the fact that she smokes marijuana, takes part in naughty strip games, but still manages to make it to the end.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Jason kills her with the ice pick she had grabbed when she thought someone had broken in.
* KilledOffForReal
* NamedByTheAdaptation: Her surname came from spin-off material.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Sure, she managed to stop Pamela's little spree. The crazy old lady may have been gone, but now her unstoppable zombie killing machine of a son gets brought into the picture because of her.
* NeverFoundTheBody: Because Jason took it with him.
* SuddenSequelDeathSyndrome: She also has the dubious honor of being victim number one in Jason's bodycount.

----
!Ginny Field

[-Played by: Amy Steel-]

* ChekhovsSkill: Her child psychology studies.
* DeadPersonImpersonation: She impersonates Jason's mother to distract him long enough to strike him with a machete.
* FinalGirl: Of Part 2. Notably avoids the "wholesome" aspects of the trope - she drinks alcohol, plays practical jokes on people, isn't always fully clothed and has sex during the film while (obviously, as she's the survivor) [[AvertedTrope averting]] DeathBySex.
** She may not have had sex during the film. It is implied that she stopped the encounter because she was on her period.
* ImprovisedWeaponUser: She defends herself from Jason with a chair and a chainsaw.

----
!Chris Higgins

[-Played by: Dana Kimmell-]

The Final Girl of part three, Chris has had a run in with Jason in the past and has come back to her parents' farm with friends in an effort to loosen up and forget the past. Unfortunately for her, Jason has come back as well.

* BrainyBrunette
* BrokenBird
* DarkAndTroubledPast
* FinalGirl: Of Part III.
* GenderBlenderName
* LaughingMad: By the end of the third film. Though her cameo in the fourth movie shows she managed to calm down.

----
!Trish Jarvis

->''"You son of a bitch! I'm gonna give you something to remember us by!"''

The older sister of protagonist Tommy Jarvis and Final Girl of ''The Final Chapter''.

[-Played by: Kimberly Beck-]

* BigSisterInstinct: She beats Jason senseless with a hammer to protect Tommy.
* DropTheHammer: When Jason grabs Tommy, Trish mercilessly beats Jason senseless with one. When it was not working, she stabbed him with the claw end instead.
* FinalGirl: Of The Final Chapter.
* ImprovisedWeaponUser: She's forced to defend her brother and herself with a hammer and a machete.
* MamaBear: When her little brother is in danger she becomes this.

----
!Pam Roberts

The assistant director at the halfway house Tommy Jarvis attends and the Final Girl of ''Part V''.

[-Played by: Melanie Kinnaman-]

* FinalGirl: Of A New Beginning.
* TeamMom
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: The very end of Part V features Tommy going insane, donning Jason's hockey mask, and preparing to kill her, with no mention of her in further sequels. While the novelization of Jason Lives reveals that Tommy stopped regained some foothold on his sanity and stopped himself before he hurt her, there has yet to be any official material revealing whether she's still alive or not.

----
!Megan Garris

The Final Girl of Part VI as well as Tommy's LoveInterest, Megan is far more wild and snarky than your typical FinalGirl.

[-Played by: Jennifer Cooke-]

* DeadpanSnarker
* FinalGirl: Of Jason Lives.
* OnlySaneWoman: Is the ''only'' person in Jason Lives who initially believes Tommy's claims that Jason has come BackFromTheDead.
* RebelliousSpirit
* UptightLovesWild: Tommy is a serious person looking to fix his mistake. Megan is a wild girl who has no problem of breaking the law and disobeying her father... who is the sheriff.
** Sometimes it appears she is having too much fun.

[[caption-width-right:229:Tina to them, "Film/{{Carrie|1976}}" to [[FanNickname the fans]] and [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown bringer of pain]] to Jason.]]

->''"I'm Tina, from next door."''

Heroine of ''[[Film/FridayThe13thPartVIITheNewBlood Part VII]]''. When she was a little girl living near Crystal Lake, she accidentally killed her father with her latent psychic abilities after [[DomesticAbuse he hit her mother]]. That moment left her psychologically devastated and she would spend some time at a mental hospital. She returned to her old home years later as a part of her treatment by Dr. Crews. While there, she accidentally resurrects Jason from his watery grave with her psychic powers. As Jason starts another killing spree, she's forced to gain control over her powers and in the end [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome gives Jason one of the biggest asskickings of his (un)life]].

[-Played by: Jennifer Banko (as a child) and Lar Park-Lincoln-]

* ActionGirl: The most action-y of all the finals girls in Friday the 13th.
* BadassAdorable
* BrokenBird
* CassandraTruth: Tina tries to tell about Jason's presence, but Dr. Crews chalks it up to hallucinations.
* DaddysGirl: She loved her father a lot, even if he was prone to drinking too much and abusing her mother.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Killed her dad by accident during a fight that her father had with her mom, causing Tina to lose control.
* {{Expy}}: They nicknamed her movie ''Jason vs Film/{{Carrie|1976}}'' for a reason.
* {{Fainting}}: She faints when she sees the resurrected Jason.
* FinalGirl: Of New Blood
* GirlNextDoor
* MindOverMatter: She has telekinetic abilities which she uses to move objects big and small, including Jason.
* PlayingWithFire: She can light things on fire and spread existing ones.
* PsychicPowers
* PsychoactivePowers: Tina's powers depend on her emotions. Knowing this, Dr. Crews tries to inflict emotional stress on her to study her, instead of helping her to get over her mental trauma.
* {{Seer|s}}: She is able to see some future events, like her mother's upcoming death.

----
!Rennie Wickham

[-Played by: Jensen Daggett (as a teen) and Amber Pawlick (as a child) -]

* TheEmpath: In the tie-in comics it's revealed Rennie has empathtic abilities, explaining why she kept seeing visions of Jason.
* FinalGirl: Of ''Jason Takes Manhattan''.
* {{Hallucinations}}: Rennie is haunted by hallucinations of Jason as a child.
* ThePenIsMightier: She manages to fend Jason off at one point by stabbing him in the eye with an ink pen, one that supposedly belongs to Creator/StephenKing.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: She is afraid of swimming due to a childhood trauma.

----
!Jessica Kimble

[-Played by: Kari Keegan -]

* DecoyProtagonist: Zigzagged. While she's the FinalGirl of the film and is the one to deliver the killing blow to Jason, Steven is arguably the true hero of the film, as most of the film is centered around him protecting both her and their daughter from Jason. And while she does deliver the killing blow, Steven winds up being the one to deliver the final blow to Jason immediately after, as even after being mortally wounded Jason ''still'' tries to go after them one last time.
* FinalGirl: Of ''Jason Goes to Hell''.
* RememberTheNewGuy: She's Jason's niece, despite previous installments never even hinting that Jason had any other family beyond Pamela.

----
!Jenna Penning

[-Played by: Danielle Panabaker -]

* TheCutie
* DecoyProtagonist: [[spoiler: Meant to appear as the film's final girl until Jason kills her.]]
* [[DroppedABridgeOnHim Dropped a Machete on Her]]: [[spoiler: Gets killed off unceremoniously and anticlimactically near the end and seemingly quickly forgotten just like another RedShirt to check off on Jason's bodycount.]]
* FinalGirl: Of the reboot. [[AvertedTrope Or not]].
* GirlNextDoor
* HopeSpot: [[spoiler: Looked like she has a chance to escape with Whitney and Clay and fulfill the FinalGirl trope, only to suddenly and unexpectedly getting ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice.]]
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice
* KillTheCutie
* NiceGirl: Is very sweet to Clay and tries to help him find his sister.
* OnlySaneWoman: Of her and Trent's group.
* SacrificialLion

----
!Whitney Miller

[-Played by: Amanda Righetti -]

* {{Expy}}: Of Alice from the original film. Right down to being dragged into the water by Jason at the end.
** She also has some traits of Ginny from ''Part 2'' like Jason thinking she is his mom and her using it against him in the final fight.
* FinalGirl: The actual one of the reboot.
* IWillFindYou: Clay wants to find at her [[TheDeterminator at any cost]] and is even willing to fight Jason.

[[caption-width-right:208:This franchise would be ten films shorter if people just had listened to him.]]

->''"It's got a death curse!"''

Ralph was the town drunk of Crystal Lake. Mentally unbalanced (hence his nickname), he drives around the town with his bicycle to spread his warnings about Camp Crystal Lake's supposed "curse", much to the concern of his ([[TheGhost mentioned, but unseen]]) wife and to the annoyance of everyone else.
Iconic character to the franchise, he would later gain two {{Exp|y}}ies in the form of Abel the hobo in ''[[Film/FridayThe13thPartIII Part III]]'' and the unnamed deckhand in ''[[Film/FridayThe13thPartVIIIJasonTakesManhattan Part VIII]]''.

[-Played by: Walt Gorney-]

* TheAlcoholic: Mentoned to be a drunk.
* TheCameo: Gets one in the book ''Hate-Kill-Repeat'', via a flashback.
* TheCassandra: His warnings are true (for different reasons, though) and nobody believes him.
* DirtyOldMan: Possibly. He is watching Ginny and Paul make out with a slightly dirty expression on his face and doesn't warn them about Jason. He could have been keeping watch to protect them maybe.
* InSeriesNickname: He's crazy, so his mental condition was made into his nickname.
* LargeHam: "[[IncomingHam YOU'RE GOIN' TO CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE, AIN'T 'CHA?!]]"
* LimitedWardrobe: Notice in ''Part 2'' that he's wearing the exact same clothes he had on in the original. Sure, it's five years later, but still...
* MissionFromGod: He is convinced that God has given him a mission to warn everyone about Camp Crystal Lake's supposed "curse."

[[caption-width-right:257:Kill Jason, Tommy, and then keep on killing him!]]

->''"Jason belongs in Hell. And I'm gonna see that he gets there."''

Closest thing the franchise had for a protagonist, Tommy was young boy who had interest in all things horror and was a good amateur FX creator. Just like any ''Friday the 13th'' protagonist, he was forced to fight for his life when Jason was on yet another killing spree near his family's place.

* ActionSurvivor
* {{Badass}}: Killed Jason. Then a copycat killer. And then Jason AGAIN.
** BadassAdorable: The first time he killed Jason was when he was a young boy.
* TheQuietOne: In ''Part V''.
* TagalongKid: To his sister in ''The Final Chapter''.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Pulls off some nice throws and slams in ''Part V.''

[[folder: Part 6 Characters]]
!Sheriff Garris
Garris is the local sheriff of Forest Green and Megan's father. When Jason is first resurrected, he naturally doesn't believe Tommy's warnings and even believes Tommy himself is behind Jason's killings.

* AssholeVictim: Downplayed and eventually subverted. He is a dick towards Tommy, [[JerkassHasAPoint but he has a good reason to be]], his final actions before his death were PetTheDog moments which shows he is a FriendToAllChildren and he did go out trying to stop Jason with his death doubling as a HeroicSacrifice and a DyingMomentOfAwesome.
* {{Badass}}: See BrokeYourArmPunchingOutCthulhu, DyingMomentOfAwesome, FormerRegimePersonnel and HeroicSacrifice below.
* BigGood: Besides the fact he's an annoyance for Tommy, he is TheSheriff of Forest Green who does his hardest to be its protector. Garris definitely cements himself as this through giving Jason himself a beating before suffering a DyingMomentOfAwesome.
* BrokeYourArmPunchingOutCthulhu: Though it cost him his life, Garris is the only person to physically beat up Jason. Who at this point was so strong, that whacking him with a shovel only broke the shovel. Garris however knocks him down, kicks him, knocks him down again with a huge branch and proceeds to repeatably bash his head with a rock. [[HopeSpot He looked like he had a chance]] until Jason grabbed him and broke him in half.
* DeadpanSnarker: For a RabidCop, he's not without a dry sarcastic sense of wit.
--> *''After Tommy barges into the police station and Garris held him at gunpoint briefly''*
--> '''Garris:''' You in show business, kid? You sure know how to make an entrance.
--> *''After arresting Tommy at the cemetery''*
--> '''Garris:''' ''(sarcastically)'' Now see what you've done. You made my deputy draw his revolver. He's been dying to try out his mail-order laser scope.
* DecoyProtagonist: Downplayed. He protagonizes his own plot to investigate and put an end to the latest killing spree, but erroneously thinks Tommy is responsible during the majority of his screen time. He present himself as a FakeUltimateHero through his implied combat experience, his role as the sheriff who would use heavy-handed protocol to protect Forest Green (except, however, he used this on the wrong guy - Tommy) and did tried to stop Jason with everything he got once facing him and realizing the truth before being added to the body count himself at the climax.
* DirtyCoward: Subverted. At first, once he runs out of ammunition, he starts to run off and hide to seemingly save himself, but when he hears his daughter's cries for help and see Jason being drawn to those cries, he pulls a HeroicSacrifice trying to stop Jason to get to his daughter.
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: Dies trying to fight Jason to protect his daughter (and by extension, the young children of Camp Forest Green) and [[HopeSpot nearly won if]] not Jason took the upper hand and broke him in half.
* FormerRegimePersonnel: He is a combat veteran of the United States Armed Forces (apparently during the Vietnam War); behind his desk in a FreezeFrameBonus when Garris makes his debut, he has framed a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal hanging on his office wall. This could explained his aggressive and overprotective nature and being CrazyPrepared with firearms and the readied use of physical force against any threat he sees as to Forest Green while on duty as the sheriff. But most importantly at the climax, all that past combat experience [[HopeSpot almost came in handy]] when he managed to give a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown on Jason and even hit him with a log that ''[[CharlesAtlasSuperpower broke]]'' after meeting the impact until Jason broke him in half in a CurbStompBattle in his favor.
* FriendToAllChildren: See PetTheDog below.
* HateSink: Averted. Despite spending the most of the screen time as an annoyance for Tommy, Garris has a good reason to act this way and eventually won over the audience through his beatdown on Jason at the climax before getting killed himself.
* HeroAntagonist: Towards Tommy.
* HeroicSacrifice: Goes down fighting Jason when Jason was advancing towards his daughter.
* HopeSpot: Looked like he had a chance to beat Jason to death once and for all, until Jason took the upper hand and broke him in half.
* InspectorJavert: Refuses to believe that Jason is back until he sees him with his own eyes, and actually ends up believing that ''Tommy himself'' is the killer.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's aggressive and antagonistic towards Tommy and to anyone like his daughter (in an AngerBornOfWorry kind of sense due to his nature as an OverprotectiveDad) who backs him up.
* JerkassHasAPoint:
** Now if anyone with history of mental trauma told you they saw a serial killer come back from the dead, they'd be right not to believe them.
** Also, when Tommy for the first time barges into his station, Garris at first tried to be civil towards Tommy, but had to resort to raising his voice and barking back at to him when Tommy refuses to lower his own and foolhardily vehemently demanding a police officer to listen when trying to warn him about Jason.
--> '''Garris:''' ''(calmly)'' You better slow down, kid. You already almost got your head blown off.
--> '''Tommy:''' Will you listen, dammit?!
--> '''Garris:''' ''(aggravated)'' Don't piss me off or I really will repaint this office with your brains!
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite his abrasive [[HeroAntagonist hero antagonism]] towards Tommy, he does legitimately love his daughter and even died trying to save her from Jason when the killer advances to her direction. Also, as his duty as the sheriff, he makes sure he protects the well-being of Forest Green (aka Crystal Lake) no matter how aggressive his methods are. In addition, Garris is also a FriendToAllChildren, such as when he consoles a scared little girl who ran into him from Jason's murder spree and instructs the camp's kids to hide for their protection (see PetTheDog below). Upon realizing Jason is alive and running amok killing people again, it's unknown if Garris changes his opinion and attitude about Tommy after the realization up to his death, but if he did survived, Garris would have lightened up his attitude towards Tommy, thanked him for taking down Jason to save his daughter and allowed his daughter to date Tommy.
* NominalHero: Downplayed. Garris is maybe the Sheriff who sincerely fulfill his duty to protect the well-being of Forest Green, but however, he mostly act as a RabidCop obstacle for Tommy and even think Tommy is behind the killings to prove Jason's return, until at the climax when he realized the truth himself and dies trying to stop Jason.
* OverprotectiveDad: Expresses his AngerBornOfWorry towards his rebellious daughter Megan and does not like seeing her and Tommy together.
* PapaWolf: See PetTheDog below and DyingMomentOfAwesome and HeroicSacrifice above.
* PetTheDog: Upon arriving at the camp, he consoles a scared little girl who was fleeing from Officer Pappas' death and then instructs the children to hide underneath their beds in their cabin until the danger ceases. See also HeroicSacrifice above. In fact, these PetTheDog moments were his final acts before pulling a HeroicSacrifice and suffering a DyingMomentOfAwesome trying to fight Jason.
* PoliceAreUseless: When Tommy tries to warn Garris of Jason's return, he ignore him due to his past institutionalization. When Sheriff Garris discovers the bodies of the paintballers Jason had previously killed, he decides that Tommy did so while acting out a delusion of Jason's return, dismissing Megan's insistence that Tommy was with her during the killings and thus could not possibly have done it. It's only when he and his men chase Tommy and Megan to Camp Crystal Lake (renamed Forest Green) and see Jason with their own eyes that they're forced to acknowledge the truth, and [[SacrificialLion they all die trying to stop him]].
* RabidCop: See {{Jerkass}} and JerkassHasAPoint above for information.
* SacrificialLion: See BrokeYourArmPunchingOutCthulhu, DyingMomentOfAwesome and HeroicSacrifice above.
* {{Tritagonist}}: He protagonizes a plotline of his own in his most screen time investigating the murders, despite constantly mistaking Tommy for the killer and refusing to believe that Jason is back, but really cements himself as this at the climax (though of the DecoyProtagonist variety as he also falls victim to the killer) when facing Jason for the first time and then attempts to gun him down with no avail before eventually performing a HeroicSacrifice to buy his daughter Megan and inadvertently ([[AlternativeCharacterInterpretation or not]]) Tommy time to make a trap to stop Jason.

!Alice Hardy

[[quoteright:212:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/AliceHardy_4855.jpg]]

* DecoyProtagonist: Of Part 2.
* KilledOffForReal

* BrainyBrunette
* BrokenBird
* DarkAndTroubledPast
* FinalGirl: Of Part III.
* GenderBlenderName

* TeamMom

* DeadpanSnarker
* FinalGirl: Of Jason Lives.
* OnlySaneWoman: Is the ''only'' person in Jason Lives who initially believes Tommy's claims that Jason has come BackFromTheDead.
* RebelliousSpirit
* UptightLovesWild: Tommy is a serious person looking to fix his mistake. Megan is a wild girl who has no problem of breaking the law and disobeying her father... who is the sheriff.
** Sometimes it appears she is having too much fun.

----
!Tina Shepard

[[quoteright:229:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/TinaFTTVII_8697.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:229:Tina to them, "Film/{{Carrie|1976}}" to [[FanNickname the fans]] and [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown bringer of pain]] to Jason.]]

->''"I'm Tina, from next door."''

* BadassAdorable
* BrokenBird
* FinalGirl: Of New Blood
* GirlNextDoor
* MindOverMatter: She has telekinetic abilities which she uses to move objects big and small, including Jason.
* PlayingWithFire: She can light things on fire and spread existing ones.
* PsychicPowers

* TheCutie

* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice

* NiceGirl: Is very sweet to Clay and tries to help him find his sister.
* OnlySaneWoman: Of her and Trent's group.
* SacrificialLion

----
!Whitney Miller

[-Played by: Amanda Righetti -]

* {{Expy}}: Of Alice from the original film. Right down to being dragged into the water by Jason at the end.
** She also has some traits of Ginny from ''Part 2'' like Jason thinking she is his mom and her using it against him in the final fight.
* FinalGirl: The actual one of the reboot.
* IWillFindYou: Clay wants to find at her [[TheDeterminator at any cost]] and is even willing to fight Jason.

!Crazy Ralph
[[quoteright:208:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/RIPcrazyRalph2_1826.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:208:This franchise would be ten films shorter if people just had listened to him.]]

->''"It's got a death curse!"''

* PosthumousNarration: The opening of ''Part VII'' is narrated by an uncredited Walt Gorney.
* RedHerring: Possibly intended to be one.
* StealthHiBye
* SuddenSequelDeathSyndrome: Crazy Ralph becomes Jason's second kill in ''Part 2'', garroted to death with a string of barb-wire.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Along with Abel and the deck hand mentioned above, another Ralph-ish character named Jonah shows up in the book ''Carnival of Maniacs''.
----
!Tommy Jarvis

[[quoteright:257:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tommythroughtheages.jpg]]

* ActionSurvivor
* {{Badass}}: Killed Jason. Then a copycat killer. And then Jason AGAIN.
** BadassAdorable: The first time he killed Jason was when he was a young boy.
* TheQuietOne: In ''Part V''.

* FriendToAllChildren: See PetTheDog below.
* HateSink: Averted. Despite spending the most of the screen time as an annoyance for Tommy, Garris has a good reason to act this way and eventually won over the audience through his beatdown on Jason at the climax before getting killed himself.
* HeroAntagonist: Towards Tommy.
* JerkassHasAPoint:

* HeroicSacrifice: He uses handcuffs to tie himself and Jason together to buy Steven and Jessica some time, and gets his back snapped in turn.
