[[folder:Catherine Hatchett]]
Of the ''Cataluna Chronicles'' miniseries. Catherine was a witch girl born in the 17th Century, where she was believed to be a source of bad luck due to her red crescent moon birthmark. After she died, her spirit somehow possessed the mysterious car known as the Cataluna, where she'll gleefully murder any unlucky person to own the car.

----
* AxCrazy: Before and after she died she was incredibly vicious and inflicted some very nasty deaths on her victims. One boy was drowned alive in boiling hot motor oil in ''The Dark Secret''.
* BullyingTheDragon: Because who would have thought constantly harassing the girl you believed to be a witch would have horrible consequences?
* EmbarrassingNickname: "Bad Luck Catherine."
* MyCarHatesMe: One half of the time, as the Cataluna, she'll just kill off whoever is trying to ride her when she's not trying to brainwash them.
* RetGone: [[spoiler: The last book in the series implies Catherine had been erased from history, only William's new baby sister is born with a suspiciously similar birthmark shaped like a red crescent moon.]]
* UsedToBeASweetKid: Catherine was a poor girl who was hounded and ostracized by her community and her parents because they thought she was a monster... and then she became one.
* WomanScorned: What ultimately drove her off the deep end.

[[folder:Chrissy Minor]]
[[quoteright:236:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oneevilsummer.jpg]]

Summer babysitter for the Conklin family in ''One Evil Summer''. Amanda Conklin is immediately suspicious of Chrissy's odd and downright disturbing behavior, but the fact that her family adores Chrissy allows her to manipulate things to make Amanda look unstable.

----
* AnimalsHateHim: Amanda's cat hisses at Chrissy when they first meet, and Amanda discovers that her pet birds are terrified of being in her presence. [[spoiler: Chrissy kills all of them.]]
* CaptainErsatz: The way she waltzes into the Conklin family and starts manipulating them to her advantage, while clearly driving one specific member insane, makes her come across as a counterpart to [[Film/TheHandThatRocksTheCradle Peyton Mott.]]
* DevilInPlainSight: Amanda sees her actually hiss back at her cat, and late at night she sees Chrissy float in midair and laugh at her.
* EvilTwin: She has a comatose sister named Lilith whom she claims is evil. [[spoiler: She's Lilith, and doesn't have a sister.]]
* PsychicPowers: She can read minds and move things with her mind. [[spoiler: This appears to be a result of the carbon monoxide poisoning from her father's group suicide attempt.]]
* WeNamedTheMonkeyJack: Inverted. [[spoiler: Her real name is Lilith, and she took the name "Chrissy" from her pet cat.]]
* WouldHurtAChild: [[spoiler: Tries to kill Kyle and Merry when she has them to herself.]]
* YouKilledMyFather: [[spoiler: Chrissy blames Amanda's father for the deaths of her parents, and planned to kill the Conklins after already killing the families of the judge and the district attorney in the arson case her father was involved in.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Darryl Hoode]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/darrylfearhall.jpg]]

Hope Mathis's devoted boyfriend from ''Fear Hall''. Darryl is insanely jealous and has a horrible temper. He will do anything to make Hope happy, no matter how much she begs him to stop. [[spoiler: He's actually a violent split personality Hope created when it looked as though the boy she liked only dated her as a joke.]]

----
* AxCrazy: Is utterly vicious and psychotic in his pursuit of making Hope happy and making sure she remains his. [[spoiler: He's basically Hope's repressed anger and hatred, a channel to act out her desire to hurt those who've hurt her. In the same sense, his idea of "love" is warped because Hope has never really known a positive version of love in her life.]]
* BastardBoyfriend: He can be just as abusive as Hope's mother, telling her she'll never be rid of him and has even pressed her BerserkButton by calling her fat.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: He's responsible for some of the meanest deaths in the franchise, including beating a man to death with a golf putter to the point he cut off the man's scalp and ear, covertly filling a jacuzzi with enough chlorine to burn someone to death, and burning a woman alive by repeatedly using a steam press on her.
* HateSink: He is an emotionally, verbally, and physically abusive bastard who micromanages Hope's relationships with other people, harasses her roommates and threatens them on a regular basis, isn't above mocking Hope's weight and appearance, and murders anyone whom he thinks is getting too close to Hope or is making life difficult for her. [[spoiler: This makes sense, as he's literally the personification of Hope's repressed anger and bitterness in the form of a split personality.]]
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: But his idea of making Hope happy amounts to sadistically killing off the people who've made fun of her.
* LoveMakesYouEvil: He kills in the name of his love for Hope.
* PsychopathicManchild: When the girls try to tell him it's time for him to turn himself, he starts screaming at them that they don't understand his feelings.
* SplitPersonalityTakeover: [[spoiler: He kills the Eden personality in ''The Beginning'', and this can be considered as the Darryl personality beginning to overpower the others. Especially since Eden stays dead.]]
* TheThingThatWouldNotLeave: No matter how much Hope actually tells Darryl to leave, he never will.
* VillainProtagonist: During the segments where he's the narrator in ''The Conclusion''.
* WouldHurtAChild: He once contemplated grabbing a baby stroller and throwing it down the street because the baby's mom bumped into him.

[[folder:Honey Perkins]]
[[quoteright:236:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bestfriendtwo.jpg]]

Of the two ''Best Friend'' novels. Honey showed up in Becka Norwood's room one day, claiming that Becka was her old best friend when they were little despite that Becka has absolutely no memory of Honey. From that moment, Honey starts forcing herself into Becka's daily routine before dressing like Becka, dating Becka's old boyfriends, dumping them, and ultimately tries to ''be'' Becka.

----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: To Becka Norwood. If the two of them are in the same room, Becka is the ''only'' person Honey will acknowledge in any way, shape, or form. [[spoiler: The only time Honey will acknowledge anyone else is when she's trying to kill them.]]
* AngstySurvivingTwin: [[spoiler: ''The Best Friend 2'' reveals Honey's real name is Hannah Paulsen, and she had a twin brother named Harold. When they were nine, their father shot and killed their mom and Harold before he turned the gun on himself. Hannah saw the whole thing, and it's one factor in why she's so desperate to become Becka.]]
* AxCrazy: She ''really'' goes off the deep end in ''The Best Friend 2''.
* TheBadGuyWins: [[spoiler: She got away with ruining Becka's life at the end of the first book, making Becka think ''she'' stabbed Bill. However, the second book reveals she was briefly institutionalized and is later arrested by the police for murdering Eric.]]
* BigBeautifulWoman: Subverted. She's not considered as pretty as Becka, but has a very dramatic appearance.
* CerebusRetcon: In ''The Best Friend'', there was never a real explanation over why Honey so badly wanted to be like Becka. ''The Best Friend 2'' [[spoiler: revealed Becka and her friends cruelly humiliated her when she was 9, and shortly afterwards she watched her mom and brother get shot to death before her dad killed himself. While this makes her a ''little'' sympathetic, Becka and her friends remember that Honey was already a very whiny, needy person no one could stand to be around.]]
* DissonantSerenity: After Becka finally screams at Honey that they ''aren't'' best friends, nor does she even want Honey as a regular friend, Honey just cheerful responds she dumped her boyfriend (Becka's ex) the same way Becka did.
* EvilRedhead: She's described as having auburn hair.
* {{Expy}}: Of Hedy from ''Film/SingleWhiteFemale'', given she develops an unhealthy obsession with a young woman she starts trying to copy in ever way [[spoiler: to make up for losing her twin sibling]].
* FashionVictimVillain: Invoked in-universe. When she first shows up in Becka's room, Lilah and Trish comment on how horribly her bright orange sweater clashes with the rest of her clothes, make-up and full figure, as it makes her look like a big pumpkin.
* {{Gaslighting}}: She runs Becka through a complete gauntlet of gaslighting. Honey starts off by lying about how they were "Best best friends" in 4th grade when Becka clearly remembers her old best friend was Deena Martinson. Honey starts stealing Becka's belongings and claims Becka told her she could borrow them, and when Becka calls her on it Honey gets physically violent. Honey then brushes this off by saying it's part of "The Gotcha Game" that she and Becka supposedly had in grade school. [[spoiler: She caps it off by taking advantage of Becka's fever-addled head to convince the poor girl she stabbed Bill to death in self-defense. Thankfully the second book shows no one fell for Honey's deceit and she was arrested for almost killing Bill.]]
* IfICantHaveYou: The minute Becka finally has enough and tells Honey to get out of her life, Honey decides to get rid of Becka's friends before finally trying to kill Becka herself.
* IJustWantToBeYou: She is convinced Becka has a wonderful life and will do anything to have it for herself. [[spoiler: In fact, the second book opens with Honey trying to pull off that she ''is'' Becka, starting over at another school with forged transcripts before she has a psychotic breakdown in front of the real Becka.]]
* IRejectYourReality: Becka comes to believe Honey lives in her own little fantasy world because she refuses to acknowledge anything she doesn't want to hear. And when she does, she gets scary.
* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler: At the end of ''The Best Friend''. But she's arrested in ''The Best Friend 2''.]]
* MadnessMantra: "HONEY'S DEAD! HONEY'S DEAD!"
* ManipulativeBitch: She uses saccharine sob stories to guilt trip Becka on a regular basis. When Becka tries to retrieve her parrot pin, Honey pleads with Becka that Becka "Gave" her the pin and looks like she's about to cry until Becka feels too uncomfortable to push the subject further.
* TheSpook: In the original story, Honey appears out of nowhere, without any kind of backstory or apparent motive for stalking Becka. Even the house that she claims to have recently moved into appears to be empty most of the time, including at the end of the book when it is visited by Bill and Becka. Becka and her friends at one point skim through an old yearbook and find a picture of someone who they ''think'' might be Honey, but even then, it's left vague as to whether or not it actually is Honey. [[NothingIsScarier All of this serves to just make the whole situation even creepier.]]
* SugaryMalice: She frequently talks about how much she loves being Becka's "Best best friend," but all the praise she heaps on Becka is undercut with the intention of gaslighting her.
* TastesLikeDiabetes: Invoked in-universe. Becka grows to loathe Honey because she's so goddamn clingy and smothering with all her affection and hugs. She's especially disgusting with Becka's parents, who grow to love her because she's so sweet to them which only stands to piss Becka off.
* ThatManIsDead: [[spoiler: ''The Best Friend 2'' opens with Honey trying to be Becka Norwood at a new school, because she wants to "get rid of Honey" once and for all. Her ex-boyfriend Eric calling her on her charade and showing her the ''real'' Becka is nearby brings an end to this plan.]]
* TragicVillain: [[spoiler: As ''The Best Friend 2'' shows.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler: When she strangles Eric to death, she blames Becka for it, screaming over and over again "''YOU DID IT! YOU DID IT!''"]]
* {{Yandere}}: To Becka, originally. She later just comes to fully loathe her and wants her dead.

A transfer student to Shadyside in ''Halloween Party'', where she invites several teenagers from different social cliques to a private party at her uncle's mansion. [[spoiler: Her real name is Enid, she's actually thirty years old and planning revenge for the deaths of her parents by murdering the children of the teenagers responsible for their deaths.]]

----
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Justine says that she invited Niki and the others simply because she wanted to get to know them better, and people start to feel sympathy towards her when she gets repeatedly harassed by assholes who weren't invited to her party. [[spoiler: Niki is the only one is naturally suspicious of Justine's flimsy reasons, and unfortunately the sympathy gained from earlier makes it easier for the kids to walk into her trap.]]
* BuxomIsBetter: At one point, Terry comments on how "stacked" she is, much to Nikki's annoyance.
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler: When her plan completely falls apart, she tries to kill herself by running into the burning mansion but is stopped.]]
* OlderThanTheyLook: She's [[spoiler: 30, but can pass herself as a teenager without even trying]].
* TheVamp: She's very attractive and sensual. [[spoiler: This actually becomes disturbing when it's revealed she's at least a decade and a half older than the kids, meaning she only just avoids committing statutory rape.]]
* WoundedGazelleGambit: [[spoiler: She rigged some accidents for herself so as to lower everyone's guard, such as staging a fall of the balcony in the living room.]]
* YouKilledMyFather: [[spoiler: Her parents were killed in a car crash caused by a bunch of rowdy teenagers who'd been drag racing. So for revenge, Justine planned to find the children of the teenagers involved that night and kill them in a way similar to how her parents died.]]

----
* TheBadGuyWins: [[spoiler: The end reveals she actually did murder Brady, and now he's a zombie like her.]]
* EvilIsPetty: Subverted. [[spoiler: She wants to murder Brady as revenge for causing her extremely graphic death by his indifference, not just that her old body got scarred.]]
* HoneyTrap: She uses this tactic on Brady to drive a wedge between him and his current girlfriend.
* OurZombiesAreDifferent: [[spoiler: She's not exactly a ghost, but more of an evil spirit that stole another girl's body to come back to life and kill Brady. However, the girl she killed used Sharon's old, scarred body to stop her.]]
