* WalkingSpoiler: There is a great reason she is one as when we finally learn her origin. [[spoiler: It was predicted early on by many readers that Tanaka had something to do with the Counter Force, but the big twist is that she's not just from ''Gaia's'' side rather than Alaya's, but that she '''is''' Gaia's Counter Force -- a full-on AnthromorphicPersonification of Gaia itself rather than an agent.]]

* TooAwesomeToUse: Mjölnir is an insanely powerful weapon. Massive in size and hits twice as hard, can be thrown as a projectile, and can shoot lightning and be charged with it to enhance attacks. Its first true name release was able to easily counter five A-ranked spells from the Age of Gods and its second stage was three times as powerful and possessed immense range. [[spoiler:Contained within it is Thor's Divine Core, which is a conceptual defense that allows its user to survive a lethal attack by making the Divine Core take the hit in their place. Its final stage, ''Mjölnir Ragnarök'', causes the surrounding area to be sent back to the Age of Gods and recreates Ragnarök itself. This renders all modern laws, be it magecraft, technology or even the ''laws of physics'' inoperable while it shoots out bursts of lightning wildly; the only magecraft that can be used are [[LogicalWeakness spells from the Age of Gods, such as Bazett's runes.]] What's the catch? Mjölnir takes your memories as compensation, resulting in them being slowly erased with each use and the activation of the final Noble Phantasm wipes out the memories of the wielder's ''entire lifetime'']].

* DramaPerservingHandicap: After the Saber card appears and Illiya suggests using Lancers Noble Phantasm against it, Miyu notes that the card needs to recharge before she can use it again.

* RedOniBlueOni: The red to Miyu's blue.

* WorkingOffTheDebt: After blowing all her gems thanks to her DestructiveSaviour tendencies and competing with Luvia, she left to work off the Gems she spent. She ends up working for Luvia as a maid.

* CoolBigSis: To Miyu. She provides for her education, clothes, and house, in addition to mentoring her.

* TheApprentice: She reluctantly became this to Rin after she becomes a MagicalGirl.

* GenreRefugee: Ironically. While billed as a Magical Girl series, ''PRISMA☆ILLYA'' at its core is a Franchise/{{Nasuverse}} work, so the Nasuverse's [[MagicAIsMagicA strict rules and procedures regarding magic]] all apply. A genuine Magical Girl shouldn't exist in this sort of setting, where even the other Kaleid Liners know and follow the established rules -- but Illya herself is unique in having both the skillset and the mindset to make it work regardless of what anyone says. While Miyu and Chloe could theoretically do the same, they're too scientifically-minded to match Illya's imagination. As a result she tends to be a miracle worker.

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: She was raised without any knowledge of magic and would have stayed that way if she hadn't met Ruby and Rin. Even after getting her powers and resigning herself to having adventures, she doesn't know that Sella and Leysritt have powers.

* CanonForeigner: She does not have a ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'' counterpart. [[spoiler: It's because she is Illya's Alternate Universe counterpart.]]

* DramaticIrony: Shirou is the adoptive son of Kiritsugu Emiya, an enemy of Kariya and Kayneth in the Fourth Holy war, and they are completely unaware Shirou is the son of their old rival.

* FatalFlaw: Like his counterpart, Kayneth's is his pride. He insists on using his Mystic Code over his [[AlwaysAccurateAttack Noble Phantasm]], as he believes his magic is superior and the spear just gets in his way. The authors note that if he used the spears power, he probably would've killed Shirou.

* AdaptationPersonalityChange: Aside from being much more heroic, she also possesses a ''lot'' of quirks and character traits the original incarnation of Illya never had. [[spoiler:This turns out to be a plot point in ''2wei'', as it's revealed that her current personality is a result of Irisviel sealing her original memories as a grail conduit when she (Illya) was only 8 months old. The suppressed original personality eventually emerges using the Archer class card as a conduit, and later becomes known as Chloe von Einzbern.]]

* CharacterDevelopment: She starts out as a reluctant Magical Girl with self-esteem issues, who only fights the Holy Grail War because she was forced to and just wants to return to her normal life, but she develops into an [[IdealHero Ideal Heroine]], who will do everything in her power to protect her loved ones and save the world, even when everyone is telling her it's impossible.

* SugarAndIcePersonality: She's usually very stoic and distant, Illya is the only one she shows her sweet side to. Lampshaded at some point from Illya's friends. [[spoiler:She is ''very'' sweet to her brother to the point that Illya and Chloe couldn't believe when they found out.]]

* DirtyKid: She has the appearance of a ten-year-old girl, but is brash and lewd.

* HeroicComedicSociopath: Their first plan to deal with anything is generally "blast it with maximum prejudice". And they both seem to loathe Rin and Luvia. Though, really, this applies far, far more to Ruby than Sapphire, who is much more reasonable and has been known to shut down Ruby's antics when they get out of hand and punish her accordingly. Note that Ruby's behaviour is ''toned down'' compared to her appearence in ''VisualNovel/FateHollowAtaraxia'', where she is really into humiliating her own master, specifically Rin.

* AdaptationalJerkass: She's willing to declare a child as her slave and make her fight corrupted heroes against her will. And in [[Manga/AllAroundTypeMoon a side story where Prismaverse Illya meets main story Rin]], she considers her much nicer than the pushier, bossy counterpart she's used to.

** Apparently Rin and Sakura are still estranged sisters, [[spoiler:as Rin asks about Sakura's fate in Miyu's world.]]

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Despite how long she's known Rin, she doesn't Sakura [[spoiler:is her little sister. This means that when Rin is sad after hearing what happened to Miyu's worlds Sakura, she doesn't know Rin is sad to hear her sister was killed by an alternate Shinji.]]

* WrestlerInAllOfUs: In any continuity, Luvia is still an expert at catch-as-catch-can wrestling. She even defeats [[spoiler: Assassin Shinji]] with a classic German suplex.

A bowman clad in red who's defeated by Bazett before the story begins. He only makes appearances in a flashback in ''2wei'' and a short exposition in ''3rei''. This card grants an ability to use Projection Magic and [[MentalWorld a field of blades]].

Sakura from Miyu's world had originally sought to bring the Archer Card to Shirou so he could help her sister, but was unaware that Julian tricked her with a "fake" card unconnected to any Heroic Spirit (since the Archer of the war, Gilgamesh, was already taken). Despite this, a Heroic Spirit answered Shirou's plea anyway, an alternate version of himself from another world who went and became an Ally of Justice.

* ClippedWingAngel: Though as terrifying as it is, the black monster form is still a Class Card Servant, which means all of its Parameters are a grade or two lower than normal. Because of this, even with Gilgamesh's rational side controlling it, Illya managed to overpower his ultimate Noble Phantasm.

* ItAmusedMe: Joins Illya in her quest to save Miyu because he's bored and taking on the creators of the Holy Grail War sounds "fun". [[spoiler:Then tells Julian he needs Ilya to grant his wish because he wants to see how things play out. And then after Darius destroys the entire world, he saves Illya and further agrees to grant her whatever single wish she desires because he's interested to see how she'll react to a DespairEventHorizon.]]

* OneWingedAngel: His black half transforms into a massive, black monster after tapping into the power of the mana circuit. He then assumes control of it to fight Illya. Thi is the climatic fight of ''2ndwei''

* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: His reaction when the spell around the Ainsworths' mansion is dispelled, whether or not he'll come back later is impossible to tell right now.

* TragicDream: He gives up his dream of becoming a hero of justice and decides to live a normal, happy life with his sister, which is soon interrupted by the Holy Grail War. When he wishes Miyu to Illya's world, he knows he'll probably never see her again, and the last thing he thinks about are his hopes that she'll be happy and his regrets that he couldn't teach her more as her brother. Later, the only reason he gets to meet her again is because a link is created between his world and Illya's world.

* WeakButSkilled: As acknowledged early in the series and [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight in-canon]], Archer is by no means the strongest Class Card. But unlike the Ainsworth dolls, Shirou is in complete sync with the Heroic Spirit imbued within it. This gives him a large enough advantage that he can defeat the other six participant of the Holy Grail War in spite of their power difference, though not without getting nearly killed multiple times.
* TheWorfEffect: After killing a large number of Heroic Spirits and defeating Angelica with Chloe's help, something no one else in Illya's group could accomplish. He gets severely injured by Sakura, showing just how dangerous she is.

* UsedToBeASweetKid: In his original incarnation he was a truly well-meaning person, just like Julian, just like Shirou, who sought to give everything he had to helping a single person [[spoiler:in his case Pandora]]. However, his use of Displacement Magecraft to extend his life was imperfect, causing more and more pieces of his memory and identity to be lost over the centuries until nothing but megalomania remained.

* WouldHurtAChild: Aside from fighting a trying to kill on multiple occasions Illya and her friends, trying to sacrifice Miyu and the abuse he gives to Erika, [[spoiler:it is revealed that his wish is actually to '''kill''' Erika... but it's more of a MercyKill context. Darius is the one who wants to keep Erika alive, but his reasons for doing so are dubious in spite of their apparent nobility.]]

* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Julian unsurprisingly ''hates'' working with Darius [[spoiler:the man who is trying to literally take over his life. The only time they're shown to agree on ''anything'' is their shared enmity for Illya. Julian doesn't even care about opening Pandora's Box beyond letting him give Pandora her MercyKill, but opening the box is Darius' entire endgame, so he's forced to help with the scheme anyway and hates every second of it. They don't even have a consensus on ''what'' the box might contain.]]

* BrokenBird: [[spoiler:As an immortal, she was rejected and called a monster whenever people found out this seemingly impossible ability, with many actually attempting to kill her. After enduring thousands of years of this, it broke her spirit so completely that it also broke her function as a Key and thus she can't open the Pithos even though Humanity is on the brink of destruction. Now she believes that any attempt of friendship with her is futile and that she just wants to open the Pithos, not to complete her function per say, but just so she can die.]]

* CreepyChild: ...She doesn't bit an eye at the idea of erasing someone's memories, or sealing their mind into a stuffed animal.

* OutsideContextProblem: Rin and Illya are ''almost'' spot on in their theory of Erika's purpose in Darius' plan and why Julian goes so far for her sake, but they lack one piece of critical information: [[spoiler:they don't suspect that Erika ''is'' Pandora. She is neither human nor Heroic Spirit and has lived over 6,000 years, having no myths to shape her existence as it has yet to actually ''end''. She's a new flavor of problem not just to the ''Prillya'' continuity, but the ''Fate'' series as a whole -- even the ''Counter Force'' can't get rid of her!]]

* WalkingSpoiler: Can't say much without revealing [[spoiler: she's Pandora -- ''the actual person'', not a Heroic Spirit or a magus wielding one through a Class Card, and is in fact the catalyst of the entire series]].

* DramaticIrony: Shirou is the adoptive son of Kiritsugu Emiya, an enemy of Kariya and Kayneth in the Fourth Holy war, and they are completely unaware Shiro is the son of their old rival.

* MythologyGag: Their true form looks like the automata enemies from Fate/Grand Order.

* UnskilledButStrong: Miyu's brother refers to them as "deranged", but they're still dangerous enough to nearly kill him in all of their fights.

* CloningBlues: Chloe is the suppressed memory/destiny of Illya as a Holy Grail Conduit given form. She's not happy at being abandoned.

* BornWinner: [[spoiler:Unlike Illya who was "modified" into a Holy Grail Conduit, Miyu was ''born'' as a Holy Grail Conduit, an apparent natural trait of Sakatsuki family. Though Sakatsuki children lose the greater functions of the Grail as they age past six, they still possess immense mana, and they can still act as a Grail if an appropriate Grail War is conducted.]]

* NoPlaceForMeThere: [[spoiler:Tanaka warns Illya that if she were to use the Starlogs to travel back to Pandora's time to stop Darius, she will not be able to reunite with everyone else in the present she is about to create. She realizes the implications of this, but she would prioritize the well-being of everyone else but herself.]]

* ResignedToTheCall: Illya wasn't interested in becoming a magical girl, but Ruby forced her into becoming one anyways.

** Beatrice herself offers no extra tricks, but Thor is a patently ridiculous Berserker even by the standards of the class. It's ResistantToMagic, wields the ungodly-powerful Mjölnir, [[spoiler:does not have a conceptual weakness]], and [[spoiler:can survive one lethal hit]] in addition to already having monstrous strength.

* CallBack: [[spoiler: His apparent loss to Sakura is this all the way back to the UBW route and Fate/Zero. in the former, Shirou says that his Reality Marble would not allow him to beat a Servant, a 'wielder' of a weapon. Much like how Knight of Owner was a limited counter to Gate of Babylon in Zero, Shirou and his WeakButSkilled pragmatism is simply overwhelmed by the Installed Sakura's StrongButSkilled, superior weapon usage.]]

--> Illya: ''[at seeing them in a bust-emphasized maid outfit]'' Whoa... what a difference...

* IJustWantToBeNormal: She was dragged into MagicalGirl shenanigans because her wistful wishing for adventure happened to catch Ruby's attention. This earns her a rather difficult mentor in Rin and a magical stick that sends her to chase down magical cards. She wasn't thrilled. It's also {{deconstruct|ion}}ed later on; [[spoiler:the logical conclusion of her returning to normal would be that she never met Rin, Miyu, Luvia, and Chloe, rendering everything that have happened meaningless. Also, Chloe will disappear if it comes true-- naturally, she rejects this desire violently]]. The whole thing sounds like a ShoutOut to (the manga version of) ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura'' [[spoiler:in which Sakura's failure to pass Yue's trial will erase absolutely every memory pertaining to gathering the cards.]]
* IntimateHealing: The easiest way to supply mana to Chloe is by kissing (there ''is'' another, more intimate way, though). Chloe gets ten times the prana from Illya than anyone else, though Illya is usually reluctant to supply it. On at least two occasions,[[note]]when Chloe falls ill, and when she thinks Chloe is dying[[/note]] however, Illya does so willingly in order to heal her from illness or injury.

* ImpoverishedPatrician: It's easy to forget that, in the mainline Fate series, the Einzberns were considered both nobility and a pre-eminent, if secretive, mage family. Here though? Your typical middle-class family, with Iri herself as a supportive wife. Irisviel isn't in the least bothered by this though... maybe. She ''does'' make fun of the Edelfelt mansion getting demolished in 2wei for example.
* LastOfHerKind: As she reveals in 2wei, Iri and Illya are the last of the Einzberns left alive.

* SparedByTheAdaptation: She is perfectly fine and dandy in this universe, allowing her to be a mother to both Illya and Shiro.

* WhereIWasBornAndRazed: It's implied in ''2wei!'' that she and Kiritsugu killed most of her family so that Illya wouldn't be forced into being a Grail Conduit.

* AdaptationalBadass: In [[VisualNovel/FateHollowAtaraxia]] her original story]], while she is noted to be a Sealing Designation Enforcer and one of the best if not ''the'' best, her prowess verges more on InformedAbility due to the story's circumstances. Here though, we get to see Bazett in top form, and she's just as scary as advertised; she takes out ''two'' of the Class Card Servants pre-plot, and even if they are below true Servants on the power scale, they're still not something a lone human should be brawling with.

She appears midway into 2wei, trying to take back the cards that both Rin and Luvia had collected at that point. It is during this encounter that she reveals just how ''powerful'' she is, as she takes out most of the main cast very handily. It is only after the revelation that there's an ''eight'' card slumbering in the city that she is forced to retreat, and eventually ally with Illya and her friends.

* AdaptationalBadass: While an incredibly formidable magus and combatant, it is generally recognized in series that she (along with every other human character in Nasuverse not named Aoko Aozaki, Shirou Emiya, or Fate Extra's Ryougi Shiki) should not be able to beat a Servant. She ''kills'' two singlehandedly and rips the class card out of a third.
* BadassInANiceSuit: Still likes to wear suits and ties while stomping people.

* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:In ''3rei'', most of them are eventually destroyed one by one. The only remaining cards left are two Berserker cards and the second Archer card ]]

* WakeUpCallBoss: Unlike the first two class cards, who go down rather quickly, Saber proves to be a much more formidable foe, down to taking down Rin, Luva, ''and'' Miyu at one point.

* LogicalWeakness: Through Lancelot's Noble Phantasm, Knight of Owner, Sakura can steal and wield any weapon she can touch, even right out of someone's hands -- but she stills needs to be able to grab it. She has no problem catching and returning arrows, but this doesn't work with [[spoiler:live bullets and explosives used from a distance, and she doesn't have the [[ImmuneToBullets Mystery-induced protection]] that Servants usually get due to still being part human. Shirou takes advantage of this by fighting her with guns and explosives]].

* LineOfSightName: A minor and not direct version of the trope. [[spoiler:It is revealed in a flashback that Beatrice Flowerchild isn't her real name, having changed it because it was one of the things she was bullied for. When called by her supposed real name by Julian, the dialogue is censored. Next to the panel is a shot of some flowers, before the next page has Beatrice telling Julian to not call her that and decides to call herself Beatrice; Beatrice Flowerchild.]]

* SlasherSmile: A very noticable one in nearly all of her fight scenes.

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: [[spoiler:He created a 'junk Archer card'.[[note]]The idea being that Sakura would give it to Shirou, only for Shinji to kill them both after an engineered HopeSpot, this plan being apparently engineered by Julian out of spite.[[/note]] Which Shirou used to summon EMIYA and completely derail his plans by first ''winning'' the Holy Grail War and thus being able to send Miyu to another universe, ruining Julian's chance to use her. And as a result of his wish, when Miyu ''is'' captured and brought back, Julian ends up having to contend with her friends and allies who are ''determined'' to rescue her and ruin his plans, one of which was ''born'' from that 'junk Archer card' (Chloe). Shirou himself notes that creating the card and letting it get into Shirou's hands was a ''massive'' blunder on Julian's part, which Julian later acknowledges with the [[ReforgedIntoAMinion creation]] of Doll Sakura to deal with the card should it ever resurface.]]

* SelfServingMemory: After using the Caster Card for the first time, Atrum convinced himself that Madea's power was actually his own, unable to accept she was stronger than him.
