* {{Foil}}: Like how her Lancer counterpart was one to Nobunaga's Archer variant, Kenshin as a Ruler is one to Nobunaga as an Avenger, especially their respective Third Ascensions.
** Their Ascensions go through different parts fo their lives, but Kenshin flirts with modernity in her second form while Nobunaga turns to Oda Kippoushi, a male version of her childhood.
** Kenshin, even as an avatar of Bishamonten, can't use ranged weapons to save her life while Nobunaga liberally uses them.
** Both embrace their reputations. Kenshin is presented as an avatar of Bishamonten, a god of war and wisdom, while Demon King Nobunaga is a god killer who compares herself to Prapiyas, a demon from Buddhism.
** Kenshin's design is GoldAndWhiteAreDivine with flowing robes while Nobunaga is primarily black and red with armor. Kenshin even shows more skin while Nobunaga keeps covered, even if with some SensualSpandex.
** Kenshin is a single target Arts CriticalHitClass whereas Demon King Nobunaga is an AOE Buster servant.
** Both use swords, but Kenshin only uses it in her Noble Phantasm while Nobunaga uses it everywhere in most of her attacks except her Noble Phantasm.
** Kenshin in her Third Ascension is personable and elegant if somewhat awkard with human interaction while Demon King Nobunaga is an aloof ColdHam with a HiddenHeartOfGold.
** Their Craft Essences are their swords with Kenshin's being framed as descending from the heavens in sacred light while Nobunaga's is burning in the earth.

* SituationalSword: Her Noble Phantasm boosts her damage against enemies with the Man attribute, which unfortunately only has ''one'' instance in the Moon Cancer class, that being BB. However, there are plenty of Berserkers and tons of other Servants that do have the Man attribute, giving Kenshin plenty of extra damage while maintaining her high defenses.

* GodOfWar: As an avatar of Bishamonten, she's this in human form. However, she emphasizes that Bishamonten is also a [[CulturedBadass god of wisdom]].

* LightningBruiser: With an attack-focused build that emphasizes critical hits and Ruler defenses with an evasion skill, Kenshin is basically a mix of her Lancer variant and Astraea. Her Noble Phantasm's ability to strip enemies of any and all buffs (unless permanent) ensures her damage and defenses will be consistent.

* TookALevelInBadass: Already a skilled and revered warrior as Kagetora, Kenshin is even more powerful as a Ruler, exemplified by her Extra attack being a simplified version of her Lancer variant's Noble Phantasm.

to:

Phantasm.
* TheUnsmile: In her first and second ascensions her StepfordSmiler tendencies always make her come off as a bit unsettling. This is dropped with her third ascension where her expressions are more subdued, but also sincere and warm as she's finally begun to understand humans.

* AmusinglyAwfulAim: Even as an avatar of Bishamonten her skill with ranged weapons is awful, if somewhat improved. Anything past short range is still a no-go for her, though she's working on it.

* AmusinglyAwfulAim: Even as an avatar of Bishamonten her skill with ranged weapons is awful, if somewhat improved. Anything past short range is still a no-go for her, though she's working on it. In her Third Ascension, she doesn't aim so much as spray an area with her Treasured Pagodas to ensure that ''something'' gets hit.

Added DiffLines:

* InsistentTerminology: She's insitent that her cannon-like weapons are ''not'' cannons but "Bishamonten's Treasured Pagodas". Her {{Laser Sword}}s? "Bishamonten's Flames". Kenshin feels offended when Ranmaru suggests they could be anything else.

Added DiffLines:

* LaserSword: Rather than wield physical weapons, Kenshin can emit flame-like energy from her arms in the shape of a [[Franchise/{{Gundam}} Gundam-esque]] Beam Saber to slash at her foes.

Added DiffLines:

* OverlyLongName: The name of her first skill in this incarnation is the names of all three of her Lancer form's skills in one description. Meaning that it's "Fate is in Heaven, Armor is on the Chest, Accomplishment is in the Feet".

Added DiffLines:

* {{Pun}}: She has trouble explaining her "Treasured Pagoda" weapons when others ask if they're cannons. This is because "Treasured Pagoda" is written as "宝塔" or "houtou", which sounds identical to "砲塔" or "gun turret" (which is basically what they are as weapons anyways).

* BloodKnight: Loves a good fight no matter what it is. Even in her third ascension where she's more restrained she still loves the idea of dueling a few other Servants. Ironically, being a Ruler is also a pain in the ass for her as Rulers are supposed to be neutral arbitrators, only intervening when necessary which means she can't indulge her competitive nature freely.

* CriticalHitClass: Just like her Lancer variant, Kenshin is about absorbing and generating stars except an even stronger. Her second skill has her generating up to fifteen stars per turn while her first skill boosts her crit damage and star absorption, giving her plenty of resources to dish out massive damage.

* OlderAndWiser: Her third ascension, embracing her status as an incarnation of Bishamonten, has her acting a lot more level-headed and reserved than her younger, exuberant self and leaving her SociopathicHero past behind. Misuse. Dramatic Irony is when character(s) In Universe don't know info that the audience knows, not, as the main page puts it, "Irony Played For Drama". At most this is normal Irony.

* DramaticIrony: The original Skadi was previously married to Njörðr, the god of the sea, but their union was a bad match. They could not stand being in each other's home, with Njörðr hating the mountains and Skadi loathing the seas. As a Summer Servant she uses water in a lot of her attacks and seems to enjoy the sea, a contrast to her Proper Human History counterpart.

Looking at the chapter in question, I don't think it's an explicit confirmation, but a potential implication.

** Given that most Servants that qualify for the Ruler class were literal saints in the lifetime, you'd think ''Saint'' Martha would've originally been summoned in this class instead, and the version that's on a vacation from putting up the AllLovingHero front would be the Rider. Despite vanilla Martha being eligible for a Ruler, the classes are the other way around. That said, it's {{downplayed|trope}} as the manga adaptation for ''Literature/FateApocrypha'' reveals that Martha does genuinely qualify for the class.

Amakusa's faith is his weapon, and he uses it to bring down divine retribution. His first skill, Revelation A, grants him critical stars every turn. When upgraded to Pilgrimage A, it becomes a targeted buff that buffs the selected ally's NP generation rate. With the power of the god Amor, Caren C. Hortensia spreads her faith and love in equal measure... in her own whimsical way. She carries the unique passive skills Masochistic Spiritualist Disposition EX, which buffs her Attack by 20% if she suffers from a debuff, and Iron-Willed Faith A, which grants her immunity to Terror and Charm. Her first skill, Holy Shroud of Valentinus A, grants her Invincibility for three attacks, grants the party Invincibility for one attack, buffs their NP generation rate, and grants Caren a buff that steals 10% of the party's NP gauge and gives it to her every turn. Her second skill, Golden Arrow A, forces all enemies to target her, moderately charges her NP gauge, drains a charge from all enemies' NP gauges, and debuffs their Attack and Defense. Her third skill, Mana Burst (Love) A, buffs all three of her Command Card performances, slightly charges her NP gauge, and drains a charge from an enemy's NP gauge. Her Noble Phantasm, The Greatest Hits - "Calling Agape", is an [=AoE=] Quick attack that debuffs all enemies' Quick resistance by 20% and prevents them from applying the next buff to themselves. When upgraded, it deals greatly increased damage to enemies with the Chaotic alignment.\\\
