* AffablyEvil: When he's on his good days, he's not such a bad guy. When ComicBook/MilesMorales handed him [[ItMakesSenseInContext a (week-old) cheeseburger]] in ''ComicBook/SecretWars2015'', he restored the multiverse...and revived his deceased mother in gratitude. Since then, he's more or less pulled a HeelFaceTurn - he's been largely retired, takes the time to warn Galactus of those out to get him, and is genuinely pleased to see the FF again when he returns from the NotQuiteDead.

* PetTheDog: In "Spider-Man Family #4", when he abandons one of his evil plans to comfort a distraught boy, and gives him the Franchise/SpiderMan doll he was going to use in said plan.

Hate-Monger is the name adopted by Adolf Hitler's consciousness throughout multiple cloned bodies. Armed with a gun that controls hatred, he wishes to plunge the world into racial purging. Hate-Monger has died several times, but his consciousness has always transferred itself to other bodies, prolonging his existence.

* HatePlague: His original M.O. was to spread bigotry and aggression with his "Hate-Ray" and would usually direct people's hatred towards minorities. He eventually turns himself into an ethereal hate plague to spread his evil ideals.
* HistoricalDomainCharacter: He's none other than Adolf Hitler himself, having placed his consciousness in clones.
* InTheHood: Wears an outfit that makes him look like a member of the Klan, just in purple.
* TheKlan: His hood is obviously based on the Ku Klux Klan.
* ObviouslyEvil: Even for a literal clone of Adolf freakin' Hitler, calling yourself the Hate-Monger is pretty gauche.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Currently, the trope picture; then again, this is to be expected when one is freakin' ''Hitler'', wearing KKK robes and hood on top of that.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: His eyes glow red underneath the cowl.
* RoguesGalleryTransplant: Although originally a Fantastic Four foe, Hate-Monger inevitably crossed paths with ComicBook/CaptainAmerica and has become more associated with him due to their clashing ideals. Even if it's just a clone, you can't expect to keep Steve Rogers' fist away from Hitler's face for long.
* SecondaryColorNemesis: His well-known Klan-like outfit is purple.
* ThoseWackyNazis: He's a clone with the mind of Adolf Hitler, so of course he's one.
* VillainousLegacy: Hate-Monger is more of a symbol than a character. Many other individuals have taken up his moniker and purple hood to spread racism, bigotry and hatred, proving that anyone can become a mouthpiece for hate.
* YouClonedHitler: One of the earliest and most notorious examples, thanks to Arnim Zola creating several clone bodies to transfer Hitler's evil essence into. He's even gotten Hitler's consciousness imbedded in his brain just to ensure that he wouldn't divert from his genetic predecessor's ideology.

* TheAgeless: Continuous exposure to the energies of his Cosmic Rod has retarded his aging, making him virtually immortal.

* WouldNotHurtAChild: During a team-up with the Wizard, the Mad Thinker found out after they'd kidnapped Franklin Richards that the Wizard planned to kill and autopsy the boy to learn the secret of his powers. Completely disgusted, he immediately abandoned the Wizard and found Ben Grimm, leading him to where the Wizard had the boy hidden.

None other than ''ComicBook/{{Galactus}}'', ascended to his Lifebringer self, said that if he got serious, he couldn't hope to challenge him, that Reece could end him with a stray thought. Even Doom, who treats his fellow supervillains like crap and beneath, treats Owen with the appropriate amount of respect...sort of.

* PowerfulButIncompetent: He has the power to transmutate anything into anything else and telepathically control his creations, and yet he's only a minor ComicBook/FantasticFour villain because he lacks imagination, intelligence, and a killing instinct. If he was actually competent he'd be one of the biggest threats in the world. As it turns out, he's actually a universal, even multiversal, scale threat once he realises what he's truly capable of, one that Galactus treads ''very lightly'' around.
* PowerLimiter: His confidence issues are what holds back the Molecule Man's full potential, to the point that he at first, felt he needed a wand to focus his powers. Even though he grew out of it, it remained restricted to non-living matter. Even so, he could still erect barriers across all of New York City (Even the Invisible Woman strained when she erected one across Manhattan), and lift a ''150 billion ton mountain''. Without this block, he's easily among the most powerful beings among the Marvel Universe, with Galactus' internal monologue in ''ComicBook/Ultimates2015'' noting that Reece could end him with a stray thought.

* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: Downplayed. His issues were already there when he got his powers - they only magnified them. If anything, [[SanityHasAdvantages when he's more stable, he pulls off better feats]]. [[spoiler:In ''[[ComicBook/TheAvengersJonathanHickman New Avengers]]'', it's revealed that this was deliberate on the part of the Beyonders - as Molecule Men across the multiverse would go insane eventually, and when detonate - annihilating their respective universes]].

* KnightTemplarParent: Let's just say he ''really'' doesn't approve of his stepdaughter dating the Thing.

* KnowWhenToFoldEm: In a confrontation with Nova, Rich quietly whispers to Blastaar that if he wants to stay king of the Negative Zone, he might want to remember what Rich did to the last person from the Negative Zone he fought (namely, ripped him inside out). Blastaar quietly lets Rich go, playing it off as an act of kingly benevolence.
