* Achilles' Heel: He cannot assimilate anything without a soul. Natsu exploits this by beating him with a big rock.
* Acrofatic: Much to Natsu's shock. When channeling Hades' soul, he's firmly in Lightning Bruiser territory.
* The Assimilator: His Combat Tentacles-like limbs don't just drain energy. Leave them attached long enough, and you get absorbed, powers included.
* Battle Strip: His armor comes off as he fights Natsu. Justified in that his armor is apparently more like a straightjacket that restrains his body mass than armor, and what's more, he doesn't need it anyway.
* Beware the Silly Ones: Don't let his constant giggling and obsession with money fool you; even Natsu struggles with this guy.
* Catch Phrase: "How much is X worth? How much?"

* Hunter of His Own Kind: Juvia lampshades how weird it is for a demon who knows Demon Slaying magic to join a guild full of demons. Keyes suggests he was accepted into the Nine Demon Gates to keep the other demons in line. Subverted when it's revealed that Silver isn't really a demon.

to:

* One-Winged Angel: He can turn into a werewolf-like form as a last resort. Too bad for him, Natsu's used to dealing with folks who use brute force.

* Affably Evil: He's a pretty nice guy... just don't piss him off, or he'll freeze you solid before you can blink.
* Badass: He froze an entire village full of giants and the residual spirit of a fire dragon solid by himself.

This cat-like demon performed a terrorist attack in the Magic Council wiping out everyone except for Doranbalt. His curse power involves Explosives.

* Fangs Are Evil: Goes with his Little Bit Beastly appearance. His teeth look like that of a canine.
* Having a Blast: His magic causes massive explosions to occur anywhere around him.
* MadBomber: By proxy due to his curse ability he even uses landmines.

* Eldritch Location: Their headquarters, Cube, is actually a Giant Flyer that can absorb anything that is on its body that isn't one of the demons (except the Mooks), turning its victims into parts of the architecture. Fridge Horror sets in for those who recall just how many skeletons and skulls are used to decorate Tartaros' guild headquarters...

to:

* Religion of Evil: Many who have witnessed their gatherings describe them as a cult that worships demons. They're only partially correct; they don't worship demons, they are demons. However, they do appear to worship Zeref himself, with a shrine set up in his honor in their inner sanctum.
* Resurrective Immortality: Their headquarters has a special regeneration facility called Hell's Core, where they can instantly teleport once they're killed.
* Tome of Eldritch Lore: They are the current owners of the Books of Zeref, and indeed, all of their high-ranking members are demons, including their guild master.
* Unequal Rites: They use "curses", which are somehow different from the rest of the magic in the series. Jackal boasts that they are inherently superior.
* Undying Loyalty: To Zeref, to the point where they're willing to wipe out humanity for no other reason than because they think it's what Zeref wants.
* Unwilling Demonisation: They have the ability to turn humans into demons. After they try to do this to Mirajane, it's implied that not all of their members were willing.
* We Will Find You: Kyoka states that despite being demons that Zeref created, Tartaros has never actually met Zeref in person, and it's their life's dreams to finally get the chance to do so.

Added DiffLines:

* Blind Obedience: Most of them only do what they think Zeref would want of them, and they haven't even met the guy. [[spoiler: There is a reason for this...]]

Added DiffLines:

* Humans Are Insects: By principle, these demons view humans as being lower than insects. Suffice to say, they're pretty shocked when these puny humans start doing them in.
* Meaningful Name: In Greek Mythology, Tartaros is an area of the Greek underworld reserved to torment souls that are judged to be evil, making it the rough equivalent of Hell in other religions. All of their high ranking members are demons from the Books of Zeref, who believe they are passing judgment on humans.
* The Magic Goes Away: Their goal is to activate the "White Inheritance" Face, a magic pulse bomb capable of wiping out all magic across the continent, since magic power in the world prevents their master E.N.D. from being revived. Since Tartaros uses "curses" instead of magic, this would leave them unaffected.
* Nothing Is Scarier: Nobody knows anything about them other than that they're a dark guild. The exception to this is Cobra, who was once part of a dark guild himself.
* One-Man Army: Franmalth states that Zeref designed each demon to be able to take on entire armies.
