* LikeASonToMe: He eventually comes to realize that Steve is truly part of the Winslow family and loves him like his own child. It's also hinted he sees Waldo as such too, given how they sometimes do get along like going to basket ball games, plus as soon as he hears that Waldo got arrested in some Mexican village, he immediately makes plans to get him out, even paying for his release (though the price of his release was very low).

* {{Foil}}: She has a lot of similarities with Greta. They’re both daughters of wealthy men who don’t approve of Eddie. Greta’s father goes as far as to cut her off financially when she refuses to break up with Eddie, while Myrtle’s father does no such thing but once tries to bribe Eddie into leaving Myrtle at her debutante ball. In Recap/FamilyMattersS8E8NightmareAtUrkleOaks, he successfully bribes Eddie into marrying Myrtle but the whole episode was AllJustADream.
* {{Hypocrite}}: She constantly insults Greta with SlutShaming and considers her ugly. This coming from the same person who constantly makes perverted advances towards Greta’s boyfriend, Eddie. Greta’s always responds by throwing back those same insults, greatly offending Myrtle.

* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Upon her introduction, Myra is simply [[NiceGuy a nice gal]] who just so happens to [[GiveGeeksAChance really like Steve]]. By Season 5, Myra, now a main character, becomes something of a SeeminglyWholesomeFiftiesGirl who starts taking a shared interest in Steve's hobbies and is [[ClingyJealousGirl jealous of Laura]]. By season 9, [[DerailingLoveInterests she goes completely off the rails]] by having her room into a shrine of Steve where [[StalkerWithACrush she monitors his every move]].

This is mostly prominent in season 5, when Steve still has feelings for Laura, and he doesn't know what to do with Myra's obsession with him. She grows out of it in seasons 6-8, when she has a real relationship with Steve, but then it's brought back in the final season after their break-up, even worse than before.

* AdvertisedExtra: As a member of the main family, she's credited as a main character in the first four seasons. While she’s in nearly every episode of season 1 and 2, she's usually used as a background character who is lucky if she gets a line in nearly every episode by season 3. In her final season, before her unexplained disappearance, she doesn't even ''appear'' in most episodes, despite still being in the opening credits.
