After his defeat, Gem started work on a magical academy, to teach her citizens how to properly wield their magic. Scott came to her to learn how to get his cryokinesis under control, but accidentally set off a blast of ice in the process, which hit Gem full force. As a result, Gem fell ill, and remained ill for a while until Fwhip basically dragged her over to Katherine to get cured.

* PoorCommunicationKills: When Fwhip sees that her hair has changed and that she's sick, Gem explains that she and Scott were experimenting with magic, and that he hit her with a blast of ice. Fwhip, thinking Scott attacked Gem on purpose and then ran away to avoid dealing with the consequences, instantly breaks off his alliance with Rivendell and enlists Sausage's help to install a PitTrap in Scott's house and rig the Grimlands embassy to blow.

** When fWhip comes by later, Gem tells him what happened, but [[PoorCommunicationKills leaves out the very important detail]] that it was a complete accident, and that Scott has [[PowerIncontinence zero control over his abilities]]. Fwhip, thinking Scott attacked Gem on purpose, recruits Sausage to install a PitTrap in Scott's house, and rig the Grimlands embassy in Rivendell with TNT. When Scott returns from his exile and finds the traps, he sees this as an ''active declaration of war'', promptly closes Rivendell's borders, and starts preparing an attack on the Grimlands.

After being approached by Fwhip and learning that Scott hurt Gem, Sausage decided to join Fwhip in his quest for vengeance.

After a few weeks in exile, Scott was warned by one of his owls that Shrub had stolen the Xornoth-crystal. He returned to Rivendell not only to find that the crystal was gone, but that Fwhip had installed a trap in his house and rigged the Grimlands embassy to blow. Scott was ''furious'' with this, ran the embassy through with an ice spike, and sent out a warning to all other empires that Rivendell is off-limits. He officially moved back home, and started to prepare for war with the Grimlands.\\

* AwakeningTheSleepingGiant: With the exception of the fight against Xornoth, Scott has always been a peaceful, relatively isolated ruler, who doesn't really concern himself with faction politics. However, after Fwhip levels what Scott perceives to be a direct attack against Rivendell (installing a PitTrap in Scott's house and planting a bomb in the Grimlands embassy), Scott responds by closing Rivendell's borders, freezing Fwhip's train lines and Sausage's harbor (since Sausage helped), and vowing that anyone who tries to mess with him in the future is going to ''regret'' it.

After Xornoth's defeat, Shrub started searching for her homeland again. She briefly found it after stepping through her Nether portal, but after she told Fwhip and tried to show him, the portal just led to the normal Nether, and her homeworld was gone. She continued to look for a way to go back home, while also keeping the Xornoth-crystal safe after Scott left it behind in his secret meeting room.\\

Xornoth was eventually defeated in a battle with his brother, Scott. He was sealed inside a crystal, which was then turned into an amulet. Scott initially wore said amulet on his neck, but left it behind in his secret meeting room before going into a self-imposed exile. It was later found by Fwhip, who informed Shrub, who took the crystal home for safekeeping. However, the crystal started affecting her in strange ways (sleepwalking, hearing voices), which freaked Shrub out so much she gave it back to Scott. Scott, not wanting to keep it as a necklace again, hid it in a secret cave under Rivendell, frozen inside an ice spike.\\

* MakingASplash: Alluded to; Lizzie mentions having an "exceptional ability to control water" as the Ocean Queen while creating a river deep into and through the Lost Empire's jungle to track down her kidnapped axolotl knight, Sir Strawberry.[[note]]Out of universe, of course, it is simply carving out the landscape by hand and using water buckets to manually create a river.[[/note]]
