* BroughtDownToBadass: She has long since lost her Cat Leaper's TimeRewindMechanic after using it thousands of times to try and protect her family, but she still has her SuperSpeed, which she used to give Ziggy a run for his money off-screen before he finally captured her.

* PeggySue: [[spoiler:She's the only character besides the passengers aboard the ''Edens Zero'' to regain her memories of everything before the heroes trigger a CosmicRetcon with Etherion. * HateSink: His [[UsedToBeASweetKid sympathetic childhood motivations]] aside, Drakken is a repulsive, sociopathic LoanShark who puts his customers through a FateWorseThanDeath not just so he can wring them out of all their money, but also to siphon their life force to keep himself young, all while proudly displaying his evil on his shoulder.

Letting his anger get the better of him and having Spider executed before he could explain anything about the ''Edens Zero'' seems like a stupid thing to do once he takes an interest in the ship, but it turns out he had a reliable InformationBroker to fall back on, giving him all the info he's looking for.

* ArcVillain: While it's [[TheHeavy his son]] who drives most of the action in the Aoi Cosmos saga, Nero functionally serves as the saga's main villain, being the one who built and controls TheEmpire that the ''Edens Zero'' crew battles. [[spoiler:Uniquely for such a major villain, he never meets anyone in the main cast face to face, instead being defeated by the BigBad, Ziggy.]]

* EvenEvilHasStandards: [[spoiler:Universe Zero's Nero has more standards than he did in the old world, never stooping to the level of tyranny he and Shura were capable of before. When it appears Shura has crossed that line, or is going to, Nero helps train Shiki to ensure he's strong enough to stop his son.]]

* TheMinionMaster: He endlessly spawns human-sized attack drones inside his own body when Holy, Jinn and Laguna break in.

* RemoteBody: He manifests his own personality through a human-sized copy of himself to confront Holy inside his own body. When she assumes this to be his true form, he clarifies that the small body is the RemoteBody, not the giant one, and therefore has no effect on him when Holy [[ImMelting melts it down]].

* WouldHurtAChild: Holy and her little sister, Sara, were not spared from his villainy when the former was visibly a preteen. While Sara was crushed by falling debris, Holy was deliberately picked out with the rest of the survivors to be string up in the nude and left to starve to death while he watched.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: {{Implied}} and {{justified|Trope}} by his nature as an android. Despite looking like a fully grown adult, it's hinted that Crow was built only thirteen years before his proper introduction in the story, because [[spoiler:it's only thanks to Cure--who was powering Crow from the inside all those years--that he can operate at all]].

Both are the adoptive fathers (or grandfather, in Ziggy's case) to a gravity user, but unlike Ziggy, who lovingly raised Shiki and saw value in all life, Nero cared nothing for Shura and only ever thought for himself. Despite their differences, however, [[OddFriendship the two found some common ground and became good friends]], at least [[WeUsedToBeFriends before Ziggy turned evil]].

** Spider started bragging about being one of Drakken Joe's blood brothers to everyone he meets after Drakken complimented him as such for fixing his computer. By the time they meet again, Drakken can't be damned to remember anything about the guy, and has zero trouble killing him for his failures.

* NonIndicativeName: His aliases of "Undead Joe" and "DJ Zombie" aren't because he's actually the living dead, but because he's immortal and hasn't aged for 200 years, which gives off a creepy impression.
* OneWingedAngel: His Overdrive form functions as this, as he turns into a humanoid beast with a reptilian tail and crystalline hair with enhanced strength and usage of his power.
