History Characters / DigimonFrontier

The main antagonists of Island of Lost Digimon, they have been serving as the leaders of human and beast type Digimon for some period of time before the setting of the film. However, they have their own agendas in the conflict. They are the same individual, Murmukusmon, who seeks to [[BackFromTheDead revive]] [[OurGryphonsAreDifferent Ornismon]] in order to conquer the Digital World.

Downplayed in his Chaos Mode; while a bit taller, he's still nowhere near as physically imposing as things like Gigasmon or Sakkakumon, but can easily curb-stomp [=EmperorGreymon=] and [=MagnaGarurumon=] just by by punching them repeatedly. Afterwards, this trope is averted, as Lucemon transforms into his Shadowlord Mode.

To top it all off in his fight Susanoomon, he shows he has the power to destroy the entire planet!

* GlassCannon: [[spoiler:Lucemon Larva is one of these, being able to force Susanoomon to split up after just a couple of attacks, but dying to the Ten Legendary Warriors in their base forms. It's why he pilots Satan Mode from the Gehenna Sphere.]]

* KnightTemplar: Not acting ForTheEvulz, he actually considers himself bringing order to the Digital World. [[spoiler: But he's arguably the biggest killer in the franchise, as he nearly has the world destroyed so he can break free.]]

* ManipulativeBastard: He keeps Dynasmon and Crusadermon working for him with false promises that he'll let them rule the human world.

* CurbStompBattle: Fights with him either end with him dishing these out or being on the receiving end, the former when facing the Legendary Warriors before they got their Beast Spirits, and the latter occurring afterwards.
* DePower: Loses his beast spirit to Takuya and doesn't get it back.

He was ostensibly the leader of the evil Legendary Warriors, and he was certainly the most effective (outside of Duskmon). He seemed to hold a minor grudge against Takuya, but not to the extent that Ranamon held for Zoe. He supposedly represents steel, but that is a clear case of InNameOnly, as most of his attacks involve mirrors (steel mirrors, though). His Spirits are the reincarnations of [=AncientWisetmon=], Warrior of Steel.

Suddenly, why would there even be a conflict between the two digimon types in the first place along with Cherubimon being corrupted suddenly makes a lot more sense from a meta perspective.

* KnightTemplar: Not acting ForTheEvulz, he actually considers himself bringing order to the Digital World. [[spoiler: But he's arguably the biggest killer in the franchise, as he nearly has the world destroyed so he can break free.]]
* LargeHam: His speech is much less subdued with each new form. He is hammier in Falldown Mode than in his regular form. His larva form has him yelling at the top of his voice when he's not being a ColdHam.
** He's also a ColdHam in his CreepyChild form.
* LightEmUp: In his first form this is his mode of attack. He can still use it in Chaos mode, this time alongside darkness to great effect. He loses this ability upon reaching Shadowlord mode.
* LightIsNotGood: He looks like an angel, but is evil as all get out. Combines this with DarkIsEvil in Chaos Mode where he adds the power of darkness to his arsenal.
* LightningBruiser: In his Chaos/Falldown mode.
* MadeOfEvil: Satan Mode and presumably his larva form are made of the data that the Digivices couldn't purify.
* TheManBehindTheMan: He was manipulating Cherubimon all along.
* ManipulativeBastard: He keeps Dynasmon and Crusadermon working for him with false promises that he'll let them rule the human world.
* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: He claims he's making a utopia where everyone will be happy, but it's clear this is not him at all. It's just excuse to justify taking away freedom and have complete control over everything.
* OhCrap: In the Japanese version he starts to panic when Susanoomon breaks into his protective sphere that Satan Mode was carrying.
** He also has one when Susanoomon splits into Takuya and Koji to avoid his YinYangBomb.
* OmnicidalManiac: Subverted. Destroying and absorbing the Digital World was just the method he used to collect the data he needed to remake it the way he wanted.

Like [[Anime/DigimonTamers Juri]], he has trouble getting along with his stepmother because of this. However, he eventually warms up to his stepmother, and even mentions that she is the only one he will call "Mom".

* FiveManBand: The spirits of the Legendary Warriors are inherited by five heroic children. The StockShonenHero Takuya, IneffectualLoner and {{Lancer}} Koji that spends the earliest part of the series on his own before becoming an AloofAlly, TokenGirl and [[DudeMagnet everyone's crush]] Zoey, TagAlongKid Tommy that the others look out for until he matures enough to take care of himself, and BigFun J.P who has the physically strongest forms and always has a chocolate bar on him. The show mostly centers around [[RedOniBlueOni Takuya and Koji's rivalry and later partnership]] with the other members either diffusing the tension, or offering [[CantCatchUp support from afar.]] They eventually get a SixthRanger in Koji's [[HeelFaceTurn long lost twin]] Koichi, but he gets DemotedToExtra with the rest of the group in favor of the main duo.
