* CharacterizationMarchesOn: The first time she and Matt crossed paths, Jun was fairly restrained in her feelings toward him, politely asking him to sign her shirt and even having a friendly conversation with him. In their next encounter, she could see that Matt was lying about where her brother currently was, and calmly but smugly used that knowledge to {{Blackmail}} Matt into agreeing to go on a date with her. By the time of the Kimeramon arc, she developed into a full-fledged StalkerWithACrush toward Matt, inviting herself along for the "camping trip" set up to cover the younger Digidestined's extended time in the Digital World, then doing everything she could to follow the Matt's group after they ditched her.

* BigBrotherBully: Downplayed. After Ken's first trip to the world, Osamu found Ken playing with the Digivice that he thought was his, and ''exploded'' at him. Much of it was Osamu snapping under pressure to succeed. On the whole, though, Osamu was a good big brother. The lighting of that scene (combined with the fact that he was returning from the Digital World after having just been infected by the Dark Spore) might also imply that [[UnreliableNarrator Ken's perspective of what was going on (or his recollection of it) were a bit skewed]]. Due to his death, Osamu died before Ken and him made peace and also Osamu died before he got a chance to realize that the Digivice was for Ken not him.

Again, to know why it's necessary to play the games.

* AdventureRebuff: The Digivice that appeared was meant for Ken, but Osamu mistakenly thought it was for him and became very possessive of it. Subverted, though, because Osamu presumably never found out what the thing was or what would have entailed.
* AmbiguousSituation: We only get to see him through Ken's emotionally charged flashbacks. The scenes taking place before the appearance of the Digivice openly idealize Osamu, portraying him as an incredibly kind person, while the rest, set after the event, show him as an authoritarian bully. It's unclear whether this reflects faithfully Osamu's personality change or it's just that Ken's own memory is just biased in both directions (a phenom known in psychology as splitting).

* BigBrotherInstinct: Normally when not under stress, Osamu was a good brother to Ken and loved creating bubbles for him to play with. [[spoiler: It's also implied that he died because he pushed Ken out of the way of an incoming car.]]

* LegacyCharacter: Ken's Kaiser persona sports Osamu's exact haircut and wears glasses that evoke his, and is overbearing and tyrannical, roughly how the young Ken viewed Osamu after the Digital World entered their lives. This implies Ken either consciously or unconsciously took a persona modeled after Osamu in order to prove that, in way, now ''he'' was Osamu and had all of his privileges and power.

* ScaryShinyGlasses: Shown in the scene where Ken returns from the Digital World and Osamu just happens to find out that his brother took "his" Digivice without permission. In this scene, Ken started to hate his brother and the glasses in combination with his hair make him look like the Digimon Kaiser.

is and what exactly happened with Ken and him.
* AmbiguousSituation: Ken's flashbacks are cryptic and obscure for a viewer approaching the series without knowing the games. They only reveal that Ken had his own adventures in the Digital World as a younger child, that he had a slightly older human comrade, and that they somehow defeated together a massive evil Digimon who then accidentally infected Ken with the Dark Spores when he jumped to protect the other boy. For any other piece of info, the viewer had to look it up on the Internet.
