* NervesOfSteel: He confronts Oikawa, who has a pair of powerful Digimon at his disposal, to call him out on his actions and try to make amends.

Sora's father, who was only mentioned in the original series. He's a history professor in Kyoto University and travels around Japan to make research. He finally appears in the second one, where he and his disciple Shuu Kidou help out Miyako when a Digimon attack hits Kyoto.

* BigBrotherBully: Downplayed. After Ken's first trip to the world, Osamu found Ken playing with the Digivice that he thought was his, and ''exploded'' at him. Much of it was Osamu snapping under pressure to succeed. On the whole, though, Osamu was a good big brother. The lighting of that scene (combined with the fact that he was returning from the Digital World after having just been infected by the Dark Spore) might also imply that [[UnreliableNarrator Ken's perspective of what was going on (or his recollection of it) were a bit skewed]]. Due to his death, Osamu died before Ken and him made peace and also Osamu died before he got a chance to realize that the Digivice was for Ken not him.

* InvincibleVillain: Was this during most of his time in the series due to him being a Mega-level Digimon. It had to take for Angemon and Ankylomon to DNA-Digivolve to Shakkoumon for the DigiDestined to be able to stand up to him.

* BigGood: As one of the Four Harmonious Ones, he helped out the Digidestined several times without them knowing. After his physical appearance and stopping [=BlackWarGreymon=], he becomes more active in helping the heroes, even giving the original eight Digidestined one of his data cores in order to let them Digivolve past Champion near the end of Adventure 02.

* PrecursorHeroes: ''tri'' reveals he and the other Harmonious Ones were the partners to the first Digidestined.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: For an unaware viewer, his presence with Ken in the flashback technically implies he is a Digidestined (albeit he is not shown with a partner, unlike Ken), but he doesn't appear in the series proper, even although many other Digidestined from all around the world are shown. Again, to know why it's necessary to play the games.

** ObfuscatingStupidity: Don't be fooled. When she's on her game, she knows how to make your day miserable.

* BigBrotherInstinct: Normally when not under stress, Osamu was a good brother to Ken and loved creating bubbles for him to play with. [[spoiler: It's also implied that he died because he pushed Ken out of the way of an incoming car.]]

* ScaryShinyGlasses: Shown in the scene where Ken returns from the Digital World and Osamu just happens to find out that his brother took "his" Digivice without permission. In this scene, Ken started to hate his brother and the glasses in combination with his hair make him look like the Digimon Kaiser.

* GiantFlyer: He's ''huge''.

* KingOfAllCosmos: In the dub, especially, he's much goofier due to the GagDub, making more quips. Still, he effortlessly [[NoSell No Sells]] [=BlackWarGreymon's=] attempt to fight him.

* SealedBadassInACan: The Dark Masters managed to seal him and his fellows when they took over the Digital World in the Adventure 01. They were freed between series, but then Ken started putting up the Control Spires, which sealed them away again.

A mysterious character from Ken's flashbacks. Ryo was a fellow New Chosen Children involved the adventures that ended up with Ken infected with Millenniumon's Dark Spores.

* AllThereInTheManual: At the series' heyday, you would have to play the Japan-exclusive ''VideoGame/DigimonWonderSwanSeries'' to know who he is.
* TheCameo: Only appears in two brief flashbacks in episodes 23 and 43, and none of it focuses on him.

* UnknownCharacter: He's shown in the flashbacks, and the various dubs generally have Wormmon saying to Ken that they all ''three'' used to roam the digital world, but absolutely nothing is said about him, not even the name,

A young girl from the ''Natsu e no Tobira'' drama CD. One summer, Daisuke and Chibimon visit New York to see Mimi (with a surprise visit from Wallace), their encounter is quickly sidetracked when they get drawn into a wintry, empty New York and Daisuke starts hearing voices. The voices inevitably lead Daisuke to the sole inhabitant of the winter wasteland, who takes an absolute shine to him.

One of the Four Harmonious Ones, four of the most powerful Digimon in existance, and the being [=BlackWarGreymon=] dedicates himself to finding and fighting.

* BigGood: As one of the Four Harmonious Ones, he helped out the Chosen Children several times without them knowing. After his physical appearance and stopping [=BlackWarGreymon=], he becomes more active in helping the heroes, even giving them some of his powers in order to let them evolve into their higher levels.

* {{Irony}}: His power that allows Paildramon to evolve into Imperialdramon in order to stop a wild Triceramon becomes retroactively ironic after ''Anime/DigimonAdventureTri'' and the [=VPet=] merchandise reveal that Qinglongmon used to be a Triceramon himself.

* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Quinglongmon looks like a living pile of lightning in dragon shape, held together by chains.
* PrecursorHeroes: ''tri'' reveals he and the other Harmonious Ones were the partners to the first Chosen Children.
