* MuggingTheMonster: Not that anyone other than a Slayer is fearless enough to try in the first place, but Mutators have an insidious knack for feigning the appearance of a common-type Walker at first. Even the zombie's name on its health bar says 'Walker' as an additional part of its trickery. Once the Slayer provokes them enough, the real monster comes out. Its name changes along with its body, and the Slayer now has to fight this vile abomination.

!!Whipper

Introduced in the [=SoLA=] [=DLC=]. Ultra-aggressive with a severe case of self-loathing, these zombies have attempted to rip the infection out of themselves, and gotten tangled in their own intestines that they now use to attack at long range.

Added DiffLines:

* AndIMustScream: Much like the Burster, the Whippe retains some level of coherent speech despite the ravage of the Autophage. However, unlike their fellow Apex, they aggressively shout at the Slayer to die.
* CombatTentacles: The Whipper's weapon comes close to this trope, if not for their "whip" actually being the elongated, ripped-out length of ''their own intestinal system''.
* InterfaceScrew: If a Whipper cannot be killed quickly enough, it will let out a powerful shout, close to what a Screamer can do, except that their shout inflicts the Muzzled debuff which darkens the Slayer's view and most importantly, prevents them from using Fury Mode until it ends.
* MalevolentMutilation: While it's not entirely deliberate, the Whipper engages in this resulting in their having their own intestines wrapped around their left arm, becoming the eponymous whip they use to attack.
* WeaponBasedCharacterization: The entire gimmick of the Whipper is that they have fiercely self-mutilated to the point of getting their arm entangled in their own guts and now they use it as a whipping implement to attack others.

* HartmanHips: Dani's got very pronounced and shapely hips and thighs, even compared to fellow female Slayers Carla and Amy.

Added DiffLines:

* SpicyLatina: A tough-talking, Spanish swearing, tough as nails, AmazonianBeauty of an adrenaline junkie who ultimately has a heart of gold under her many abrasive layers.

Added DiffLines:

** She's notably the only Slayer who's not only unafraid, but downright ''excited'' when the pier starts collapsing under her. She treats the new dangerous situation like she's just stepped into the world's most fun playground.

Added DiffLines:

* DreadlockWarrior: His signature hairstyle falls into this category, and like all the other Slayers he quickly becomes adapted to slashing, bashing, and shooting his way through zombie-riddled HELL-A with the best of them.

Added DiffLines:

* GratuitousSpanish: While not quite as much as Carla, Bruno also has a habit to slip casual Spanish words and phrases into his speech.

Added DiffLines:

* ShoddyKnockoffProduct: While most of Bruno's clothes appear to be genuine brand names, he does admit to the sneakers being knock-offs.

* ADayInTheLimelight: The SOLA DLC heavily features Cadenza as a major supporting character. She demonstrates some kind of ESP attuned to sound that penetrates the veil between alternate realities, and like before in the base game says the Slayer's sound is "different."

* BadassAbnormal: At the start of the game, it's gently hinted that the Slayers have been changed in some way by their brief brush with the infected. By the end, that's been made explicit; Fury mode lets them punch zombies in half or vomit acid, they've got distinctly accelerated healing ([[spoiler: Tisha puts a crossbow bolt through the Slayer's right hand in the finale and within a couple of minutes, it's like that wound never happened]]), they can sense the approach of Apex Infected, and their durability is such that [[spoiler: you recover on the spot from what was likely meant to be a fatal wound once Lola pulls Tisha's arrow out]]. [[spoiler: The package also includes telepathy, or at least being in some kind of hive mind with the other Numen]].
