A mysterious shopkeeper from episode 7.

* EasilyEmbarrassedYoungster: Despite his rather cold and pragmatic nature (especially when it comes to money), he's actually pretty easy to embarrass at times, and is not used to affection either (to the point that when a more-hyper-than-usual Yumoto cuddled up to him at one point in episode 9 of season 2, he was not only [[LuminescentBlush blushing so hard]] to the point it doesn't go unnoticed by Ryuu and Atsushi, but when Yumoto was about to start cuddling the others again, Io noticeably didn't get up quickly like the others).

* CoolBigBro: Parodied. He broke a broom and a desk and threw a chalkboard sponge out of the window, but the Triplets ended up admiring him enough to vote for him in episode 3 of season 1.

* EvenTheGuysWantHim: All of them have experienced this to varying degrees, whether for pretty boy contests or valentines day or even from either each other or from other male students (like Kinshiro being implied to have a crush on Atsushi).

* EvilWearsBlack: Their Chevalier uniforms are predominantly black, and they're the main villains of season 1. [[spoiler:In fact, after their HeelFaceTurn, the next time we see them transform again after season 1, [[GoodCostumeChange they're wearing white instead of black]].]]

* DudeLooksLikeALady: Not to the same extent as Akoya, but he looks quite girly with his facial features, and his voice, courtesy of Creator/KazutomiYamamoto, don't help much with the confusion either, to the point either his scenes in Kurotamayu or the fact he attends an [[OneGenderSchool all-boys school]] become reminders that yes, this is a dude.

* SupportingProtagonist: Mixed with SupportingLeader, as although he's the main character overall, Atsushi has a MUCH stronger connection to Kinshiro, the main villain of the first season, thanks to the fact they are ChildhoodFriends (with Kinshiro being his EvilFormerFriend), and even after [[spoiler:his HeelFaceTurn]], Atsushi still ends up playing an important role in a few moments in season 2, [[spoiler:most notably, in episode 11, when Atsushi failed to reply to Kinshiro, he flew them home JustInTime just as the Battle Lovers were about to lose,]] that being said though, the supporting part is overall dropped in season 2 with the main villains, the [=VEPPer=], having a strong connection to Gora, his older brother, and by extension himself.

* [[PluckyGirl Plucky Boy]]: Remained a pleasant individual despite having to raise his brother by himself, manage the family business, and [[spoiler: save the world.]]

* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Implied to be this for Yumoto, as the only family member of Yumoto's family still available to him after his PromotionToParent. [[spoiler:Both season finales also show Yumoto getting upset at Gora being hurt by the villains, ESPECIALLY season 2, where Yumoto lost his shit and would have killed the [=VEPPer=] if not for the rest of the Defense Club.]]

* LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine: RareMaleExample, they are the light feminine to both the Caerula Adamas and the [=VEPPer=]'s dark feminine, as they feature bright and colorful costumes with frills and puffs, compared to the Caerula Adamas having almost monochromatic costumes and more mature, somewhat military-inspired, costumes, [[spoiler:even after their HeelFaceTurn, where the only change they got was a GoodCostumeSwitch from black to white, but otherwise stays the dark feminine to the Battle Lovers' light feminine,]] and the [=VEPPer=], while they do feature some frills (especially Akihiko/Melty Luna), they are still less puffy in design and darker in colors in comparison to the Battle Lovers (and the fact the Battle Lovers had a FrillyUpgrade in season 2, which features the [=VEPPer=], makes the contrast more obvious), and of course, the Battle Lovers are all traditional [[MagicalGirl Magical Boys]] who are rather peppy and cutesy, compared to the other 2 groups being more somber.

* EvilWearsBlack: Their Chevalier uniforms are predominantly black.

** [[spoiler:By the time the end of season 2 rolls around, they've switched it around to dark school uniforms (as transfer students abroad) and laundry advert-white transformation kit]].

* RedOniBlueOni The two [[{{Keet}} energetic and cheerful]] boys, [[KiddieKid Yumoto]] and [[HotBlooded Ryuu]], are the red onis, while the two [[SugarAndIcePersonality composed and reserved]] boys, [[LazyBum En]] and [[TheScrooge Io]], are the blue onis. [[TeamMom Atsushi]] is in the middle, as he is not as energetic as Yumoto and Ryuu, but not as reserved as En and Io.
