Unlike her siblings, who embody positive abstract concepts such as love, time, and co-existence, Adversus embodies growth through trial and adversary. While this may look like a bad thing on paper, the results are and is intended to be positive, as people generally come out of her disasters and calamities stronger, wiser, and better-prepared for future disasters. Her role is similar to "constructive" Evil deities such as Temnobog, who developed a mutual respect of Adversus due to both of them being rightly feared deities who use their portfolios to test mortals and help them improve themselves.
