Their marriage deteriorated due to Elvis' philandering, drug abuse, and abusive behavior, and they ultimately divorced. Here, Blue Suede Heartstrings' relationship with Venerable Grace is much more amicable and pleasant, if a bit rocky due to the circumstances involved -- Blue Suede was publicly outed as gay by Hollow Note as punishment for resisting his {{Blackmail}} and married Venerable Grace for PR reasons. While he loved Venerable Grace, he didn't love her ''romantically'' and deeply regretted this. For her part, Venerable Grace sympathized with Blue Suede and wholeheartedly supported him knowing he was being abused by Hollow Note. ** To Moon Ray Vaughoof: Both are musical prodigies with humble beginnings, except Blue Suede had religious GoodParents while Moon Ray was abused by his [[AbusiveParents violent, drunkard father]]. Both had tumultuous music careers, except Blue Suede was exploited and psychologically abused by his corrupt manager, while Moon Ray fell into drug addiction and nearly died from it. Unlike Moon Ray, who [[InSpiteOfANail died in a helicopter crash at the height of his career]] and Ascended postmortem, Blue Suede [[ElvisLives survived]] thanks to [[ForWantOfANail different circumstances]] and Ascended to godhood. And unlike Moon Ray, who is more honest with others about his own flaws and traumas, Blue Suede hid his own flaws and traumas from everyone out of guilt, self-loathing, and fear. ** If Luminiferous had not found him in time, Blue Suede would have succeeded in quitting music altogether and become a recluse out of depression, bitterness, and grief. His entries note that meeting Luminiferous "changed the course of history", as the [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre pep-talk]] he received and the epiphany he had influenced Blue to continue performing on his own terms after quitting his job as a career musician. Eventually, he would end up Ascending to godhood after traveling the world and amassing a list of good deeds.
** Instead of [[BigEater binge-eating to the point of becoming fat]] like Elvis Presley did, Blue Suede would have a [[AcidRefluxNightmare food-fueled nightmare]] late one night that showed him what he could potentially become in his old age if he didn't control himself. This led to Blue Suede cutting down his eating habits significantly, therefore retaining the handsomeness that Elvis lost in his later years.
** Had Bossa Nova not intervened, Blue Suede would have remained stuck under the hoof of "Colonel" Hollow Note for the rest of his life, unable to escape. Blue Suede acknowledges that he owes his freedom to his older twin brother and seemingly forgave him, but he deeply resented Bossa Nova for how his interference increased Hollow Note's paranoia and thus worsening his abuse. Bossa Nova later apologizes to Blue Suede for it after the latter broke down and talked to him about how he felt about his meddling.
** He would have fully transformed into a Fallen Alicorn had his friends and loved ones not succeeded in snapping him out of it. And if they hadn't saved him from '[[EnemyWithin The Colonel]]', it would have succeeded in [[SplitPersonalityTakeover taking him over completely and emerged as his dominant personality]].

Elvis Presley married Priscilla Presley, had one daughter in Lisa Marie Presley, then ended up divorcing his wife due to infidelity and drug abuse on his part. Blue Suede, however, chose to date and marry a stallion -- while the marriage and divorce with his first wife [[InSpiteOfANail still happened]], it was under [[TheBeard completely]] different [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy circumstances]]. As a result of this choice, Blue Suede became HappilyMarried to his first husband, then sired hundreds if not thousands of children with both deities and mortals for over tens of thousands of years, long after said husband's death.
** Unlike Elvis Presley, Blue Suede never got himself addicted to drugs during his music career. According to [=Randomfan11=], one of the Codexverse writers, she felt that the element of drug addiction fit Moon Ray Vaughoof's character arc better on a narrative standpoint, since drugs were what defined most of Music/StevieRayVaughan's life and career.

* HistoricalCharactersFictionalRelative: Exaggerated. He's based on Music/ElvisPresley, but unlike Elvis, who only had one daughter, he had hundreds if not ''thousands'' of children (many who would [[DeityOfHumanOrigin Ascend to godhood]] and make up the Caerulidae) with [[ReallyGetsAround multiple partners]] due to [[ForWantOfANail different choices and circumstances]]. He got better after a Pony stallion named "Revelation" (actually Emperor Golden Scepter in disguise) found Blue Suede and introduced him to King Equus himself, after which Blue Suede realized that much of what he learned was wrong and often distorted versions of what King Equus actually taught.
** Blue Suede later mentions in a conversation with Prince Written Word three Ages later that seeing even benevolent deities act HolierThanThou caused him to wonder if the "King in Heaven" he worshiped acted like them, too, but he would get over it after accepting Equus' flaws and renewing his faith in him. Blue's religious experiences would allow him to help Chief Priestess Healing Heart of the Guardians of Love go through her own CrisisOfFaith, after Ahuizotl released the Beasts of Genesis and revealed King Equus' role in creating them.
** Later on, Blue Suede would undergo a gradual loss of faith. As he became increasingly unstable, Blue Suede began to hate himself for not living up to his reputation as the '[[EmbodimentOfVirtue embodiment of Humility]]' and [[{{Hypocrite}} not practicing what he preached]]; in particular, he thought himself to be a disappointment in King Equus' eyes for always forgiving people and encouraging them to be 'better', yet is reluctant to forgive his ex-manager, "Colonel" Hollow Note, for abusing, controlling, and exploiting him. After having a spectacular FreakOut and coming out of the subsequent AngstComa he fell into, he was extremely depressed thinking that he made himself irredeemable in King Equus' eyes. Thankfully, his friends, family, and loved ones helped him recover, in the process restoring his faith in the King.

* {{Curse}}: His domains of Love and Humility turned out to have the capacity to be used for curses, which is symbolically tied to the lessons he learned in punishing people for genuine wrongdoing instead of simply trying to redeem everyone. His Humility-based curses mostly revolved around KarmicTransformation much like Pakak's, as the latter taught him that humility is sometimes learned through [[BreakTheHaughty humiliation]], while his Love-based curses involve things like HatePlague for those who take love for granted and abuse innocent people. [[DiscardAndDraw He later lost his Humility domain upon re-Ascending, after which it's replaced by Self-Respect]].
* DarkAndTroubledPast: He lost his older twin brother to stillbirth (though he would meet his twin later on), grew up in poverty, and survived a tornado outbreak when he was just a year old. Years later, he became a musician, but unfortunately, he ended up with a corrupt, sociopathic, and abusive manager in "Colonel" Hollow Note. He also fought in the "Second Maretian-Tellusian War", [[ShellShockedVeteran giving him PTSD]]. After years of mistreatment, he eventually [[RageBreakingPoint snapped]] and [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beat up Hollow Note within an inch of his life]], something that would both horrify and traumatize him for Ages to come. He decided to perform on his own terms and Ascend to godhood later on thanks to Luminiferous, but over the Ages, interactions with maliciously arrogant people like [[{{Narcissist}} War Rock]] and the [[JerkassGods Elternteil Deer Pantheon]] (and being abused by them) caused him believe that if he starts feeling pride, he'll become just like them. And in trying to be the AllLovingHero everyone expects him to be, he repressed both his traumas and flaws for ''three Ages'', creating a hotbed of emotional instability that eventually led his near-Fall.
* DadTheVeteran: He's the father of the Caerulidae, and he was a war vetaran and former sniper who served in the Ponyland military during the "Second Maretian-Tellusian War". It's deconstructed and played for drama; his horrific experiences as a soldier traumatized him greatly, yet due to [[ThereAreNoTherapists insufficient mental health resources at the time]], combined with being abused by a corrupt manager and having his trust in therapists seriously broken when one of them was bribed by said manager into becoming a YesMan, he repressed his traumas out of fear of receiving more abuse and not wanting to be seen as a burden by his loved ones. Eventually, after tens of thousands of years, his repressed traumas [[RageBreakingPoint boil over]], with devastating consequences. However, it's reconstructed as everyone learns of his troubles and gives him the help he desperately needed, and this, along with [[WhatTheHellHero much-needed wake-up calls]], finally allows him to heal. He even resumes using his old sniper rifle, ''Heartbreak Hotel'', to deal with enemies as he acknowledged the necessity in killing.

Worse, he was aware of the problem, but kept ignoring it in his absolute conviction in making things right. Eventually, he suffers a meltdown that nearly corrupts him into a Fallen Alicorn, and comes out of the ordeal feeling like he failed everyone. Thankfully, while his guilt complex doesn't go away entirely, he learns to accept his mistakes and move on from them thanks to therapy and emotional support.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Blue Suede is one of the kindest and friendliest gods on the planet, and had [[MagneticHero made friends with just about everyone over the Ages]]... but he's also a war veteran, an ancient god, and an [[TheArchmage unparalleled musical mage]]. Various drabbles, entries, and quotes show that Blue Suede ''despises'' racism and is willing to kick butt when provoked; at one point, he [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/970572648/5082676552 humiliated War Rock]] by [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/909949548/5082767849 scarring his face]]. He's also implied to have a bad temper, and repressed his psychological issues for so long that he nearly corrupted himself into a Fallen god when he inevitably broke down. Once he recovers, he [[GrewASpine learns to stand up for himself]], leading to him becoming a King and a divine reincarnation of a dead, ancient goddess.

** Blue Suede also once saved an early female Pterosaur Dracosaur from being murdered by a group of racist Dragonslayers in the Second Age. This led to them [[RescueRomance falling in love]], and together they would sire a hybrid child, Prince Agathis Heartstrings-Corporatum.

* BoomHeadshot: [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/914602463/4988566531 During the "Tambelon Resurgence"]], a Tambelonian [[{{Necromancer}} arch-necromancer]] procured an artifact that boosted her magic to phenomenal degrees. Blue Suede used the arch-necromancer's resulting [[AGodAmI megalomania]] to snipe her quickly before she could become a legitimate threat.

* ConvulsiveSeizures: Averted and then played straight. Because he was constantly overworked by "Colonel" Hollow Note, he would later suffer a seizure while recording [[Music/ElvisPresley "(You're the) Devil in Disguise"]] in Music/TheBeatles' studio -- according to [[Music/JohnLennon Gold Lemon]], he suddenly stopped moving and became confused as to why he was in the studio, before he collapsed and started "twitching" while struggling to breathe. Thankfully, he would recover in the hospital, but the incident scared the Beatles badly to the point where Gold Lemon started weeping just from talking about it three Ages after his own death.
* CoolBigBro: He's [[FriendToAllChildren very fond of kids]] and tends to act as an older brother figure for them. It's believed InUniverse that this stemmed from [[AngstySurvivingTwin losing his older identical twin brother, Bossa Nova, at birth]]; while it ''did'' happen, the ironic twist is that Bossa Nova continued to "live" on despite being stillborn, and eventually Ascended to godhood himself. Learning of Bossa Nova's existence is what caused him to [[FaintInShock faint]] when they met each other for the first time.
* CoolShades: His first entry mentions that he wears a pair of black sunglasses with a [[HellBentForLeather black leather jacket]] while appearing as a mortal unicorn stallion. While he starts wearing divine cobalt blue barding after becoming Prince Caerulus Melodia Equestria and joining the Equestrian Pantheon, his second entry notes that he still wears his shades and jacket at times whenever he appears in his mortal form.

That being said, Blue Suede does [[ASharedSuffering sympathize with those who lost family members themselves]].

** Blue Suede's initial Cutie Mark depicted a red electric guitar shaped like a heart, symbolizing both his love for music and his AllLovingHero personality.
** After re-Ascending and reincarnating as Mana Equus, Blue Suede's Cutie Mark changes into a blue, star-shaped electric guitar that looks exactly like Twilight Sparkle's six-pointed star. This symbolizes both his growth as a stallion and his greater understanding of others.

* TheBeard: After he was publicly outed as both gay and a Unicorn by "Colonel" Hollow Note as "punishment" for resisting his {{Blackmail}}, Blue Suede married Venerable Grace on Hollow Note's advice to salvage his reputation. This left Blue Suede deeply miserable, as he didn't love Venerable Grace yet felt guilty for not being the husband she wanted. Venerable Grace for her part understood his feelings and [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy did everything she could to make him happy]]. They divorced after Hollow Note's arrest, but they [[AmicableExes stayed friends]] for years afterward.

* BerserkButton: Like Music/ElvisPresley, Blue Suede hated being called "the King [of Music/Rock and Roll]" due to both his religious upbringing and feeling genuinely unworthy of the title. However, it's subverted as Blue Suede is generally nice about it and will kindly remind people not to call him such. It's later averted once he accepts he earned the title by his own merit, leading to him taking its closest equivalent, "the Sovereign of Music", upon becoming [[TopGod King]] of the Corporatum Pantheon.

* BigLittleBrother: Downplayed. Due to being identical twin brothers, Blue Suede is marginally younger than Bossa Nova, but this got switched around when Blue Suede Ascended first with Bossa Nova following shortly after, due to how divine aging works. Hilariously, Bossa Nova didn't take this well at first, but gradually accepted it.
* BirdsOfAFeather: Subverted with him and Magic Star/Magicum. Their bonding over [[ASharedSuffering shared experiences and traumas]] led to people believing they fell in love and started dating. However, Blue Suede has stated he's already HappilyMarried to [[GodOfEvil Stoltur Skjöldur]] (whom he's also in an [[{{Polyamory}} open marriage]] with). There's also how he and Magic Star/Magicum are technically siblings through being {{Reincarnation}}s of Plasmatio Equus and Mana Equus, respectively, making any potential romance between them BrotherSisterIncest.

* BlueAndOrangeMorality: As a god of Love (specifically [[ThePowerOfFriendship Philia Love]]), Blue Suede is compelled to find and make more friends or else, in his words, he'll go "stir-crazy". This is justified as deities in the setting are wholly defined by their dharma, which influences them to act according to their domains. It also strained Blue Suede's marriage to Stoltur Skjöldur as both of them were [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/914602463/4991930210 repressing their natures for the sake of matrimonial bliss]]. They eventually resolved this by having an [[{{Polyamory}} open marriage]], sleeping with and sharing various lovers like Prince Behemoth Equestria and Queen Peínagápia.

* BrokenPedestal: Played for drama. Many people close to Blue Suede start losing faith in him once his flaws, real or perceived, are made apparent, especially after his [[FreakOut breakdown]]. However, it's made clear that while part of it was genuinely Blue Suede's own fault, others contributed to it [[{{Hypocrite}} holding him to such bigoted and ridiculous standards while conveniently ignoring their own flaws]]. It got even worse after Nittunak skunked him, causing the mistreatment to evolve into outright bullying. Fortunately, with help from those like Princess Winter Opera who ''didn't'' give up on him, Blue Suede is able to recover, while his detractors end up having a JerkassRealization over how they treated him.

** True to his name, Blue Suede is heavily associated with the color blue, which symbolizes peace, trust, and compassion. * AmicableExes: He and his first wife, Venerable Grace Heartstrings, became this post-divorce. Blue Suede's true love was Record Beat, but because homosexuality was forbidden at the time, he had to marry a mare to [[TheBeard keep up appearances of being straight]]. To his credit, Blue Suede loved "[[AffectionateNickname Gracey]]", too, but he only saw her as a [[LikeBrotherAndSister sister]]. They remained close friends throughout Venerable Grace's mortal life, and when Prince Perfect Tone was born three Ages later, Blue Suede appointed her as godmother for his son.

** After High Queen Arvan rants to him about not knowing what it's like to lose children and live with the guilt of not being able to prevent that loss, Blue replies that he ''does'' know what she's talking about. This catches Arvan completely off-guard, leading to her HeelRealization as she starts rethinking her beliefs and [[AbusiveParents how she raised her own children]].

** After Blue Suede successfully tracks a [[DeathSeeker suicidal]] Prince Shamrock down, Shamrock laments to his godfather how he's lost everything, and that he's too cowardly to even [[DrivenToSuicide take his own life]]. Blue Suede asking Shamrock if he haven't lost him yet causes the latter to break down crying in his forelegs.

* AwfulWeddedLife: Despite loving Record Beat, Blue Suede ended up marrying Venerable Grace instead because he was outed by [[BadBoss "Colonel" Hollow Note]] (homosexuality was a huge taboo in Ponyland at the time) and wanted to keep the public happy. However, while he tried to be a good husband, Blue Suede never loved Venerable Grace romantically and was deeply miserable throughout. Venerable Grace for her part was very understanding of the circumstances that led to their sham of a marriage, and supported Blue Suede the entire time. They divorced following Hollow Note's arrest and imprisonment, but while Blue Suede resumed his relationship with Record Beat, he and Venerable Grace stayed [[AmicableExes friends]] afterward.
* BadassTeacher: He taught many students throughout his long life, many of them musicians like himself, and helped them Ascend to godhood. He's also the Second Age's greatest musician, an ancient Alicorn 'prodigy', the King of the Corporatum Pantheon, and presently [[TheArchmage one of the most powerful musical spellcasters alive]], as well as a reincarnation "aspect" of Mana Equus, Equidkind's first mage and the one responsible for giving all Equines the ability to use magic. This status is cemented when he chooses to join the [[SaintlyChurch Church of the Stars]], an entire pantheon devoted to teaching present and future generations of sapientkind.

* TheBeard: After he was publicly outed as a gay Unicorn by Hollow Note as 'punishment' for resisting his {{Blackmail}}, he married Venerable Grace on Hollow Note's advice to salvage his reputation and make it look like his time with Record Beat was just a phase. While he and Venerable Grace were indeed close, he was miserable throughout their marriage because he only loved Record Beat, and felt guilty for not being the husband Venerable Grace wanted. After breaking away from Hollow Note, he divorced Venerable Grace so he could be with Record Beat again, though she has no hard feelings over it and in fact [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy encouraged the divorce]].
* BearHug: [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/857186861/4879642875 At one point]], to his dismay, Blue Suede was given a sudden 'bear hug' by Healing Song, who was absolutely ecstatic over his former mentor finally joining the Church of the Stars.

The various [[GodInHumanForm mortal forms]] he would wear after Ascending are also handsome by the standards of the races they're based on. However, it's subvered as he's generally nice about it and will kindly remind people not to call him by his title. It's gradually averted once he starts accepting he earned his title by his own merits, which leads to him taking on its closest equivalent, "the Sovereign of Music", upon becoming [[TopGod King]] of the Corporatum Pantheon.
* BeliefMakesYouStupid: Part of the reason why he [[StopWorshippingMe doesn't want to be worshiped]] is because he doesn't want people to blindly put him on a pedestal without knowing what he's truly like, giving him immeasurable amounts of stress trying to live up to people's expectations and causing heartbreak for both parties. In regards to the Blue Bards, his mortal followers, he encourages them to approach him directly and see him as a friend and teacher. He later gets over it after his loved ones catch on and send him to Gagal, who helps him accept being worshiped by pointing out it's little different from how he himself worships the 'King in Heaven'.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He is a compassionate and humble stallion who [[MagneticHero made friends with just about everyone over the Ages]], regardless of race, gender, and age. But he's also a war veteran from the 'Second Maretian-Tellusian War', a staunch opponent of FantasticRacism, and one of ''the'' most powerful musical spellcasters in the world. He also held in three Ages worth of repressed PTSD and guilt over his many real and perceived mistakes, as well as deep resentment towards anyone who mistreated him and [[KarmaHoudini got away with it]] -- which nearly corrupted him in his DarkestHour once they finally catch up with him. And woe to ''anyone'' who manages to push him into a RageBreakingPoint, because [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown he will have no mercy]] (as "Colonel" Hollow Note learned the hard way). But once he recovers from his issues, he turns out to be a natural leader, becoming [[TopGod King]] of the Corporatum Pantheon and a reincarnation "aspect" of [[TheArchmage Mana Equus]], one of the [[TheOldGods Thirteen Empyreans]]. That being said, he still isn't one to be messed with, having learned to [[GrewASpine stand up for himself]] and being more than willing to kill his enemies if it'll prevent more bloodshed.

His intervention turned the Dazzling Divas into his Clerics, granting them upgraded uniforms and stronger magic that allowed them to defeat both Ivory Towers and the Greed demon, Don'yoku.
