The protagonist of ''Webcomic/BlackHaze''. Discovered as an amnesiac child by the master of Opion, he has since become a talented magician, though he is only known as such under his Awakened name Blow, his true identity remaining a closely guarded secret. Rood is clever, devoted, and resourceful, all traits that come in handy when his master sends him to Helios with the task of protecting Lidusis as well as experiencing a normal adolescence.

As Blow, he acquired almost instant fame during a vaguely alluded to incident that took place a year prior to the events of the story. His specialty is dark mana, and he usually wields a cross-shaped weapon.

His ability is transformation, and he can changes his appearance at will.

Opion's secretary and a bit of a nurturing figure toward Rood. She's one of the few who knows his secret identity as Blow. Helpful and level-headed, she's often the voice of reason when no one else around her is.

She is not a magician herself, though she is capable of using various scrolls.

A famed and exclusive school of magic where young magicians-in-training study to become Awakened magicians. Lately, it's had its fair share of incidents.

Since befriending Rood, who was sent to Helios to protect him, he's started to open up and strengthen his self-confidence. Thanks to Rood's influence, he's no longer despised by his classmates, though some of them are still wary of him.

As a child, he was friends with Chevel, who turned into his bully when they were older after a certain incident. Currently, the two are on fairly good terms again.

Stubborn, egotistical, and vengeful, he led the charge in the bullying of Lidusis, using his status as a hereis to intimidate underclassmen into following his lead. Thanks to him, Lidusis's first month at Helios was a living hell.

As a child, [[spoiler:he and his sister Ibriel were good friends with Lidusis until the incident where Ibriel was killed by a demon while hanging out with him, which Chevel, in turn, blamed him for.]]

After the incident in Ishuella where Lidusis [[spoiler:saves his life]], he admits he was wrong in tormenting him, finally acknowledging that [[spoiler:Ibriel's death wasn't his fault]], and mellows out drastically, even going so far as to becoming rather protective of him. [[spoiler:Currently, he is one of the few who knows the Black Magician's true identity after Rood, thinking him unconscious, transformed in front of him.]]

She has a younger brother named Ben who she's close with.

While appearing largely emotionless, she seems to be quite fond and protective of Yuti.

Her mana ability is ice, which she uses to freeze and attack enemies.

While extremely powerful, he's not ideal for high-profile missions, as he's nearly impossible to control and has, to date, been subdued only by two magicians: [[spoiler:Blow and Lanoste]].

His specialty is fire magic and his primary mode of attack is through enormous floating mana circles.

A magician from the Tower who came to Helios to teach in place of [[spoiler:the deceased Professor Heil]]. His main reason for going to the school is to investigate the incident at Ishuella. He's perceptive and upstanding but seems to be completely loyal to the Tower to the extent that he rarely questions his orders. In spite of that, he appears to genuinely have the students' best interests at heart.

In his Awakened form, he has the ability to record video and audio of his surroundings. He also seems to harbor an extreme dislike of Shicmuon as a result of some previous incident the latter was involved in.
