* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: [[spoiler: When Mike goes to see Lucy in the hospital following her suicide attempt, he sees Yashy. Yashy doesn't even bother to look at him and refers to him by name, rather than her usual "Flea".

* SerialNumbersFiledOff: She was originally supposed to be a baby VideoGame/{{Yoshi}}, but after many years, the tone of the story changing, her personality changing, and [[YouWannaGetSued a fear of copyright law striking]], Yashy was slowly changed into a lizard-thing that somewhat ''looks'' like a Yoshi but isn't. * ICantHearYou: A non-gag example. Lucy is completely deaf in her left, rendering her completely unable to hear someone or something that's on her left. There have been a few times where a character tries to talk to her, only for Lucy to not hear them at all because they were on her left side; sometimes just trying to get her attention.

* TheAce: Lucy is [[HeadTurningBeauty stunningly]] [[DudeMagnet beautiful]], intelligent (one chapter reveals that she's part of an advanced math class), [[DeadpanSnarker witty]], athletic, adept at self-defense, skilled at [[https://www.bittersweetcandybowl.com/c116/p21 several]][[https://www.bittersweetcandybowl.com/c116/p11 games]], comes from a well-off family, and is an extremely talented singer. However, considering her attitude issues and emotional baggage, she may be more of a BrokenAce.

* AmbiguouslyBi: As the story goes on, we learn more and more about Paulo's bicurious exploration and how he and the narrative come to acknowledge it:
** In the chapter "Boy Toy", Paulo's attempt at GayBravado backfired and he was worried he might actually start liking guys. At the end of it, he states that he's still not quite figured it out.
