* StraightMan: Compared to his friends, Kendall usually is the one who keeps his cool and actively tries to solve the crazy situations they often get into. It can either go well or fail miserably.

* CatchPhrase: Tends to say [[NoIndoorVoice "She will be]] [[LargeHam MINE!"]] whenever there's a pretty girl he's interested in. By the last two seasons, it's mostly directed at Lucy.
* ChickMagnet: James is acknowledged as the 'face' of the band in-universe. On one occasion, while helping Logan to ask Camille to the Palm Woods prom, he gives examples on what to do by asking out five nearby girls. ''All'' of them say yes.

* DrowningMySorrows: In "Big Time Contest" he's seen going to the buffet to get what seems to be another meat ball sub. He even says "hit me" to the annoyed caterer.
* FreudianExcuse: He has an overbearing mom who owns a cosmetics company. So, that explains a lot.

* LadykillerInLove: Playboy James falls ''hard'' for Lucy, and its implied that they get together by the end of the show

One of the more eccentric members of the group and the funny one. He was constantly seen wearing a helmet in earlier seasons, but loses it around Season 4.
* AgentMulder: He believes in almost anything. He even bought bottles of Zom-be-gone to protect himself from a zombie apocalypse.

* CloudCuckooLander: He is never seen without his helmet and throws himself into all sorts of crazy situations on a daily basis. When he tries to be the voice of reason, you just ''know'' that the situation is out of control.
** One example is that his life dream is to be a ''superhero''.
** For his Earth Day project, his idea (and James') was to ''have a cow in every house''. Miss Collins immediately rejected their project.
* CompanionCube: His helmet.

* PintsizedPowerhouse: He's the shortest of the guys (which is ironic because he's the oldest of the four in real life), but also the toughest as TheBigGuy of the group.
* TokenMinority: The only one of the group who is Hispanic.

Labelled "the smart one," Logan originally had plans of becoming a doctor. As of Season 4, he is in a relationship with Camille.

* AttractiveBentGender[=/=]WholesomeCrossdresser: He got into a lecture held in an ''all-women'' college, and only got discovered because he blew his cover in front of a room full of {{Straw Feminist}}s.
* BrainyBrunette: He is the smartest of the group, to the point where all of his classmates were fighting to be partners with him in ''Green Time Rush''.
* ButtMonkey: When the guys are worried that Wayne Wayne will have someone kicked out of the band, James remarks that he thinks it'll be Logan ... ''while crouching right next to him''. Later, Gustavo and Griffin remark that they thought Logan would be the one kicked out of the band, ''Griffin going so far as to use the intercom so that Logan would hear him''.
** Logan was also sat on by Gustavo and run over by a horde of fangirls. Boy can't catch a break.
** In "Big Time Break", Logan goes through a lot of trouble to attend a lecture from his favorite math celebrity teacher only to find out that she's a [[StrawFeminist crazy feminist]] and, later on, gets beaten up by a bunch of girls.
** In "Welcome Back Big Time", Logan does several weeks of school work in a day - not just his own, but ''the rest of the group's too''. All James and Kendall do is something very minute so they could claim the work was their own, but Carlos ''just signs his name''.

* CrazyJealousGuy: He can be this for Camille. In "Big Time Secrets," he started stalking Kendall and Camille because he thought they were secretly dating. He literally became AxCrazy and started chasing them with an ax-shaped guitar.

* EndearinglyDorky: Occasional lab coat, check. Brain of the group, check. Almost always wears a suit/necktie/t-shirt, check. Cute? DOUBLE CHECK.

* NotSoAboveItAll: Even though he is the smartest one in the group and likes to think of himself as the responsible one, he is not free of being impulsive or clumsy as well.

** In "Mansion", they outright trash Gustavo's mansion (littering popcorn in his $1 million living room, eating up his pudding, destroying his belongings) despite his warnings he'll fire them for this. Kendall ''especially'' encouraged the others to break the rules.
** In "Jobs", they do a lot of illegal things to WorkOffTheDebt they accrued to Gustavo for vandalism to Palm Woods Hotel such as running an illegal daycare center and forcing children to wash cars as well as destroying an $8000 prototype coffee machine.

The de-facto leader of the boys. He is the only one who doesn't want to let being a celebrity get to his head. He is dating Jo.
* AffectionateNickname: Katie often calls him "big brother" with genuine fondness.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Kendall can be your best friend or your worst nightmare. When Jo's co-star fakes the two of them being in a relationship for the press and mocks Kendall about it, Kendall flat-out tries to punch him.

* BigBrotherInstinct: He's ''very'' protective of Katie. Most notibly shown in "Big Time Contest" and in the BigDamnMovie.
* CoolBigBro: To Katie. Unlike most brother-sister relationships in sitcoms, Kendall and Katie are on extremely good terms most of the time and aid each other with their schemes.
* {{Determinator}}: In ''Big Time Movie'', he gets punched in the ribs by one of Atticus Moon's henchmen, and gets up as if it were nothing. Keep in mind, that particular henchman had a ''mallet made of silver'' for a hand.
