Hiro's older brother and Baymax's creator.
----
* {{Adorkable}}: Best proven when Baymax's video shows how happy he is after finally activating Baymax (after 84 tries), prompting him to run around and kiss Baymax.
* AllLovingHero: Tadashi's concerns extend to the general public; he developed Baymax with the sincere hope that the healthcare companion would help people all over the world. He is dedicated to helping others no matter what the cost is to him, a statement undeniably proven when he makes the ultimate sacrifice in an attempt to protect his teacher.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: It is implied that Hiro feels that he'll never be as great as Tadashi.
* AsianAndNerdy: Like Hiro, Tadashi is half White and half Japanese, and is a robotics student.
* BackFromTheDead: In the series episode "Obake Yashiki", or perhaps his spirit [[spoiler:but this, unfortunately, is not the real Tadashi.]]
* BigBrotherBully: PlayedForLaughs and subverted. He grabs Hiro by the ankles and shakes him around to get him to come up with a project for the tech showcase.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Rushes in to save Hiro when he is about to be beaten up by Yama's goon's after Yama discovers that Hiro hustled him.
* BigBrotherMentor: For Hiro. As the only male figure in his little brother's life, he has carried the burden of responsibility from a young age, knowing he had to lead Hiro and be a good role model.
* BigDamnHeroes: Arrives on his scooter with perfect timing to save Hiro from an angry Mr. Yama.
* BigOlEyebrows: Like Hiro, Tadashi has bushy eyebrows.
* BrainyBrunette: Tadadshi has black hair, a student of SFIT, and Baymax's creator.
* ButNotTooForeign: Like Hiro, Tadashi is half Japanese, half white.
* CanonForeigner: In the original ''Big Hero 6'' comics, Hiro never had a sibling. Tadashi is, essentially, a stand-in for comic-book Hiro's father.
* CatchPhrase:
** Says "unbelievable" whenever exasperated.
** "Look for a new angle."
** "I'm not giving up on you."
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: He feels the need to help, even when there's nothing that can be done. This gets him killed, trying to save Professor Callaghan from a burning building despite his own lack of rescue experience or equipment.
* CoolBigBro: Tadashi is eternally supportive of Hiro, and encouraged him to do something great with his genius.
* DareToBeBadass: He encourages Hiro to use his smarts for something greater.
* DeadpanSnarker: "Wow. Washed up at fourteen. So sad."
* DeathByOriginStory: Deconstructed. His death is what spurs Hiro to fight Yokai, but [[spoiler:his grief from it is what drives him into RevengeBeforeReason, nearly murdering Yokai when he finds out who he is]].
* DeathGlare: Tadashi gives Hiro one when they're both in jail.
* DecompositeCharacter: He has some traits that originally belonged to Hiro's older and more mature comic counterpart, such as being the one to build Baymax.
* {{Determinator}}: Tadashi did ''eighty-four'' tests before Baymax finally worked. He also wasn't going to give up on Hiro constantly encouraging him to do something with his life.
-->'''Tadashi''': I'm ''not'' giving up on you...
* DiesDifferentlyInAdaptation: In the manga adaptation, Tadashi doesn't die in a fire, [[spoiler:he gets sucked into a portal while trying to help Robert Callaghan bring Abigail back. Hiro believes that he could be alive in AnotherDimension but Baymax confirmed that he wasn't in the AcidTripDimension where they found Abigail.]]
* DubNameChange: In the Korean and Mandarin Chinese dub of the film, Tadashi is renamed "Teddy Armada".
* TheDutifulSon: More like "The Dutiful Nephew", but Tadashi is the more responsible one than Hiro, and makes it clear that his brother has to make it up to their aunt for his illegal botfighting.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His first scene involves him saving Hiro from Yama and his goons, asking if he's alright before punching him for doing such a dangerous stunt, and also asking Hiro if he plans to use talents for something better.
* ExhaustedEyeBags: Can be seen in one of video footages of him testing Baymax.
* FatalFlaw: His selflessness when he tries to save Callaghan from the fire. He doesn't consider that Hiro might try to follow him inside (which Hiro does) or the grief it would cause Hiro if he fails.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Tadashi is the Responsible to Hiro's Foolish. He regularly attends school (unlike Hiro, who spends most of his time bot-fighting since he graduated from high school early) and encourages Hiro to be more productive with his intelligence. In the beginning of the film, he's the one who bails Hiro out of trouble when Yama's goons are about to beat him up.
* HandshakeSubstitute: He and Hiro would fist bump and then make explosion noises.
* TheHeart: Tadashi provides the optimistic drive to the motivations of his friends and his younger brother.
* HollywoodNerd: He looks like a male model, or perhaps a Disney Prince, but he's skilled with building robots.
* HonorBeforeReason: He goes in to attempt to save Callaghan from a building ''completely'' engulfed in flames, with nothing but one eyewitness account that Callaghan was still in the building in the first place. While this ''is'' very noble, on the other side of the coin, he doesn't even remotely consider that his brother may go in after him, which Hiro does in fact attempt to do or the grief he will inflict upon Hiro if he fails in his rescue attempt (which he does).
* ItRunsInTheFamily: He scolds Hiro for bot fighting the exact same way Aunt Cass scolds him and Hiro after bailing them out of jail.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: To Hiro, Tadashi isn't just his big brother. He's also his best friend and the most important figure in his life. His death sent Hiro into depression.
* MeaningfulName: A common meaning for Tadashi's name is "loyal" and his name sounds like the Japanese adjective ''tadashii'' (正しい) which means "fair," "proper," or "righteous." All of which matches his NiceGuy and AllLovingHero personality.
* MixedAncestry: He's half white and half Japanese.
* {{Nephewism}}: He and Hiro were raised by their Aunt Cass after their parents died.
* NiceGuy: His character description [[http://blogs.disney.com/insider/2014/07/14/big-hero-6-cast-announcement/ here]] indicates him to be one:
-->Tadashi is a good guy. He just is. He actually developed, built and programmed a state-of-the-art nursebot--a Healthcare Companion named Baymax that will likely help millions worldwide. But it's his role as big brother that makes Tadashi truly special. Every kid needs a guy like Tadashi looking out for him, and Hiro knows just how lucky he is to have him in his life.
* NiceHat: Has shown to frequently wear a cap with the team logo of the San Fransokyo Ninjas on the front. The back of his cap (and a white T-shirt he frequently wears) has the Ninjas' team symbol.
* OnlyFriend: To his younger brother, Hiro, before he introduces Hiro to the rest of the team.
* TheParagon: Tadashi will always be there to save his brother, but at the same time wants to point Hiro in the right direction.
* ParentalSubstitute: Tadashi acts not only as a CoolBigBro to Hiro, but also acts as a father figure.
* PuppyDogEyes: [[http://68.media.tumblr.com/2d6e3049e05ab959ab9a5378640ed175/tumblr_ne7sqi04731u2400eo1_1280.jpg This scene]].
-->'''Baymax''': On a scale from one to ten, how would you rate your pain?\\
'''Hiro''': [[DeadpanSnarker Physical? Or Emotional?]] (glares at Tadashi)\\
(Cue puppy dog eyes and frown from Tadashi.)
* RavenHairIvorySkin: Like Hiro and [=GoGo=], he has black hair and pale skin.
* RedOniBlueOni: The mature, responsible Blue Oni to Hiro's brazen, impulsive Red Oni.
* SmartPeopleBuildRobots: He created Baymax.
* SoProudOfYou: In his own way to Hiro after he got an acceptance letter to San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.
-->'''Tadashi''': ''[to Hiro]'' Welcome to nerd school, nerd.
* StraightManAndWiseGuy: The Straight Man who goes to college and encourages his little brother to do the same, to Hiro's Wise Guy who spends his free time competing in illegal bot-fights.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: Tadashi is quite tall, black-haired, and extremely good-looking.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: He also has a sarcastic side.
%% -----------------------------------------
%%*TooDumbToLive: Tropers are in agreement that Tadashi rushing into a burning building without any rescue experience or proper equipment was an incredibly stupid thing to do. However, this is more a story trope than a character trope and it already has an entry on the main page. Please don't duplicate it here. If you feel it could be considered "character as device", please open a discussion item so we can reach a consensus on the proper classification of this trope for this film.
%% -----------------------------------------
* VagueAge: It doesn't help that the Japanese media calls him 21, while Hiro's San Fransokyo Files say he's 18. The general consensus is that he's somewhere between the two.

Hiro and Tadashi's aunt, she adopted them after their parents died.
----
* {{Adorkable}} : She has an almost child like glee whenever she gets excited. It's just so cute.
* AdultFear: Her sibling[[note]]the film does not specify which of Hiro's and Tadashi's parents is Cass' sibling[[/note]] and their spouse die, leaving behind her young nephews who she raises as her own. Then her oldest nephew dies in a fire trying to save his teacher.
* CanonForeigner: She was made specifically for the film adaptation. Possibly as a stand-in for Hiro's mother, who is not dead in the comics.
* CheatersNeverProsper: She teaches this to those who try to cheat to win against her in "Food Fight." [[spoiler:She ends up taking their knives as a BattleTrophy.]]
* ComfortFood: After bailing Hiro and Tadashi out of jail, she starts eating a doughnut, while lampshading it. She also encourages it in Hiro, trying to comfort or reward him with his favorite foods, like hot wings.
* CoolAunt: Took in her nephews when they were orphaned and is an eternally loving, supporting figure for both.

* ParentalSubstitute: Becomes one to Hiro and Tadashi after their parents died, then even more so to Hiro after Tadashi dies.
* ParentsAsPeople: [[LampshadeHanging Lampshaded]]. Cass never expected to be a parent, nor did she know anything about being a parent. But she loves both her nephews, and they clearly love her back.
* PromotionToParent: She mentions that she never expected to be a parent, but she has raised Tadashi and Hiro for ten years and always refers to them as her "boys."
* SoProudOfYou: Cass always tells Tadashi and Hiro how proud she is of their accomplishments.
* SupremeChef:
** "Fred's Bro-tillion" had Cass cater for Fred and his family (as Hiro recommended her for the gig); she later gets a stack of orders to cater OTHER events as well.
** Demonstrated in "Food Fight," where in underground cooking duels she wins strings of matches after defeating her mentor. Given "cheating is encouraged" in said duels her ability to show CheatersNeverProsper makes her a ChefOfIron. [[spoiler:In the duels she wins the knife set of her opponent as a BattleTrophy, and when her mentor asks for his "Nana's knives" back, she showed him her TrophyRoom before asking which knives "were his Nana's."]]

The Hamada family's pet calico cat.
----
* AnimalGenderBender: He's a male calico cat.[[note]]It ''is'' possible for a male cat to be a calico, but it's extremely rare, about a 0.3% chance. The gene that determines fur color patterns almost inevitably occurs on the X (female) chromosome, and the male calico would have to be born with 2 X chromosomes and 1 Y chromosome, and male calicos are usually born sterile.[[/note]]
* CatsAreMean: Completely averted, as Mochi, a chubby Japanese bobtail cat that likes to snuggle, is one of the nicest Disney cats to date.
* CatsHateWater: In his short with Baymax, Mochi yowls and flails whenever the robot tries to clean him in the sink.
* DeathGlare: Does this to Hiro after he threw him up the stairs.
* FatCat: He's so fat that he looks like a ball.
* FreezeFrameBonus: Mochi can briefly be seeing playing with a laser-pointer during Hiro's HardWorkMontage.
* MeaningfulName: He is named after a Japanese rice cake, kinda fitting as he looks like he's had too much cake.
* NiceGuy: Sweet, docile, affectionate, and loves being anywhere he can get attention.
* SleepCute: He seems to smile while he's asleep... even on top of a Microbot bin.
* TeamPet: The series seems to be treating him as this to the heroes, seeing as he got a short all to himself.
* ThatPoorCat: He gets tossed up the stairs by Hiro when he's trying to hide Baymax from Aunt Cass. He turns out to be okay but is not happy with Hiro and runs away howling when he approaches.

A stoic butler who works for Fred's family.
----
* TheComicallySerious: Despite always acting like a reserved, professional butler, he ends up participating in some odd and mundane situations, such as giving Fred (and Baymax) a fist bump, serving as the team's TrainingDummy, and eating a pastry while having the tech tested on him.
* TheJeeves: A classic example of the stone-faced, well-mannered, devoted butler.
* NotSoStoic: While normally reserved, he does crack tiny smiles at the team. He's also a bit baffled (or amused) by Baymax's fist-bumping. He is also easily ticklish.
** Not even Heathcliff can hide his contempt for [[RichBitch Binky]].
* ShoutOut: To other [[BattleButler valets]] like [[ComicBook/TheAvengers Jarvis]] and [[Franchise/{{Batman}} Alfred]]. Especially since [[spoiler:Fred's dad is actually a superhero, so [=BH6=]'s training is nothing unusual for him.]]

* BookcasePassage: The way into the secret room with his gear is by pushing a painting of the family, causing the wall behind it to open.
* InkSuitActor: He is clearly modeled after Stan Lee, his voice actor.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Secretly a superhero. And they wear their underwear the same way.
* MysteriousParent: Mentioned in passing during the events of the film and revealed in the post-credits scene.
* TheObiWan: He becomes somewhat of a mentor to Big Hero 6, as they take up his role as protectors of San Fransokyo.
* ParentalAbandonment: Fred mentions that he rarely sees his father because he is away on their vacation island for long periods of time. Likely, he's off superheroing during these times, but that doesn't mean Fred doesn't miss him.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Though annoyed at his son not keeping the secret, he is still happy to let Fred and his friends use his hidden superhero lair for their crime fighting.

The owner of a science institute and Tadashi's mentor, he has made major achievements in the field of robotics. He encourages Hiro to attend the institute and dissuades him from selling his microbots to Alistair Krei.
----
* TheAce: Callaghan is a brilliant and gifted scientist and teacher, and is famous InUniverse for developments in both engineering (Callaghan actuators) and robot programming (Callaghan's [[ShoutOut Laws of Robotics]]).
* BigBad: He was the one who stole Hiro's microbots and faked his death to get revenge on Alistair Krei, and eventually revealed as Yokai.
* BrokenPedestal: [[spoiler: To his students and Hiro when it is revealed that he is Yokai.]]
* CanonForeigner: He was made specifically for the film adaptation.
* CoolTeacher: Tadashi's teacher and mentor and head of the school robotics program. He also encourages Hiro to do something more productive with his intelligence.
* {{Foil}}: He and Krei are explicitly set up as foils at the expo, with Krei wanting to profit off of Hiro's invention and Callaghan trying to persuade Hiro to use his talents for something more. [[spoiler: This sets up the reversal when it's revealed that Callaghan is actually Yokai]].
* {{Foreshadowing}}: When he warns Hiro not to sell his invention to Alistair Krei, he does so in a surprisingly condescending manner towards Krei. [[spoiler:This foreshadows the extreme vengeance he holds towards Krei for causing his daughter's supposed death.]]

His daughter will awaken to find that everything he built has disappeared. His expression when they take him away even says as much]].
* LastNameBasis: Is called Professor Callaghan.
* ReedRichardsIsUseless: Averted; in the movie, Hiro flips out when he first meets Callaghan and notes Callaghan's achievements in the field of robotics, such as Callaghan's Laws of Robotics. This seems to imply that he was a pioneer in A.I. development in the movie world.
* TheReveal: [[spoiler:He's Yokai, and he faked his death and stole Hiro's invention in order to get revenge against Alistair Krei for causing his daughter's death.]]

->'''Voiced by''': Jenifer Lewis\\
'''Appearances''': ''[[WesternAnimation/BigHero6TheSeries The Series]]'' (debut: "Baymax Returns")

The dean of students at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.
----
* AlliterativeName: '''G'''race '''G'''ranville.
* BerserkButton: Slackers. She can get a little testy when rules are broken, but this is more of a DownplayedExample as she is able to control her temper quite well.
* CharacterDevelopment: She learns to be much more honest as Season 1 goes on, particularly with Hiro, who she ends up having something of a bond with.
* {{Foil}}: To Callaghan. While Callaghan was generally lax and seemed to be a ReasonableAuthorityFigure, Granville is more no-nonsense. But while Callaghan ultimately succumbed to his own anger and ended up not caring for any of his students, Granville is only tough on her students because she wants them to be at their best.
* HiddenDepths: "Rivalry Week" reveals that she's actually quite a prankster, to the point she not only allows the group to pull a prank on SFAI, [[SeriousBusiness she actually joins in so that they don't get pranked first]].
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Subverted--at first, it seems that she's fallen for Karmi's [[BitchInSheepsClothing "nice girl"]] routine, but it later turns out that the reason she wanted Hiro and Karmi to hang out together was actually more for Karmi's sake rather than Hiro's sake.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She tends to be strict on her students, scolding Hiro for repeatedly violating school policy by breaking into Tadashi's [[spoiler: former]] lab when it is off limits to first semester freshmen. However, she lectures him calmly and wants him to live up to his potential, praising him for his work efforts in class at one point. In fact, the times she lectures Hiro, she is patient and is determined that he not screw up his future. When Hiro [[ItMakesSenseInContext fake cries]], she is baffled and even tries comforting him (albeit reluctantly), even enduring a hug from him. Overall, she is a ReasonableAuthorityFigure.
* MyGreatestFailure: [[spoiler:The accident that left her student Bob Aken grievously injured. While she had nothing to do with the accident, she felt personally responsible due to her lack of supervision on her students, which consequently caused Bob to conduct more and more reckless experiments. This was what caused her to resign.]]
* MysteriousPast: Used to be a teacher at SFIT in the past, and left for reasons not explained yet, not mentioning that she used to be at the school when coming back, and is in a picture with a boy who appears to be a young Obake.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Her voice and demeanor is most likely based on that of Creator/LynneThigpen from ''Series/WhereInTheWorldIsCarmenSandiego''.
* NotSoAboveItAll: "Rivalry Week" reveals she's just as enthusiastic about stealing SFAI's Lenore Shimamoto statue as the school's students. She even ropes Wasabi and Fred into guarding SFI's dining hall, making them wear camouflage clothes and use whistle signals, while she wears full-on spy gear.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness:
** She gets all TheKnightsWhoSaySquee when Liv Amara visits SFIT.
** Played much more seriously when she discovers that Hiro proposed a power amplifier for his final project, where she's much more livid and emotional and outright rejects his proposal. [[spoiler:Turns out her former student Bob Aken attempted the same before, only for the experiment to backfire horribly.]]
** When she meets [[spoiler: her former student Obake]], she's uncharacteristically frightened.
* PetTheDog: Take any scene with her and apply this trope: first scene, she is sympathetic towards [[spoiler: Tadashi's death]], saying that [[spoiler:he]] was an excellent student. She describes herself as "tough, but fair". She praises Hiro for his work efforts so far in a meeting and even decides to allow him access to [[spoiler: Tadashi's former lab]], thinking that it would help him.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: She may seem strict, but it's to be expected considering her position. And with that, it comes with rationality, and she can be playful at times. For example, she tries to get Hiro and Karmi to befriend each other since the latter is [[FriendlessBackground friendless]]. And while she shows that she was somewhat irritated with Hiro spying on her in "Mini-Max", she understands and takes a moment to explain why she lied, apologizing to Hiro for not being honest since it caused more trouble than it was worth.
* SecretSecretKeeper: [[spoiler: She reveals to Big Hero 6 that she knew who they were the entire time in "Countdown to Catastrophe".]]
* TragicKeepsake: Why does she have a dangerous energy amplifier in her office? [[spoiler:It's the one that Bob Aken made that caused his accident.]]
* UnreliableNarrator: She says that she only recently started teaching at SFIT, but "Small Hiro One" reveals that she actually taught at SFIT decades ago.

[[folder:Karmi]]
!!Karmi
[[quoteright:310:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/karmi.jpg]]

->'''Voiced by''': Haley Tju\\
'''Appearances''': ''[[WesternAnimation/BigHero6TheSeries The Series]]'' (debut: "Issue 188")

The second-youngest student attending San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, right after Hiro. She's a biology major who specializes in the study of virology and bacteriology.
----
* {{Adorkable}}: Shown particularly whenever she's excited by something Bio Tech-related or Big Hero 6 related (especially in regards to her beloved "Captain Cutie".)
* AmbiguouslyBrown: While not explicitly expressed in the show, she appears to be partially based off of her voice actress, who is part-Indonesian and part-Chinese.
* AscendedFanon: InUniverse, the team actually finds that the tricks that she suggested in her fanficton of them work pretty well, like [=GoGo=] skating vertically up walls and Honey Lemon and Fred creating ice showers. Hiro also upgrades Baymax with his own "Overdrive Mode."
* BadassBystander: Karmi's latest invention, which caught the eye of Liv Amara, much to Hiro's dismay, becomes instrumental in taking down Orso Knox. What makes her more badass is the fact that she put them on herself.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: She's very sweet and polite in front of Granville, but turns on a dime the moment she is left alone with Hiro. Hiro realizes that Granville knew about the false niceties already, and that ''Karmi'' was the person that needed to learn to socialize.
* ButtMonkey: A mild example - ''something'' frustrating always seems to happen to her every time she appears (having a beloved virus die, having embarrassing snapshots taken of her, getting tricked into being locked out of a seminar, being the accidental victim of Hiro's new super-strength ''twice'', etc.) The end of "Fan Friction" and all of "Big Problem" [[ThrowTheDogABone gives her a break]], though.
* CharacterDevelopment: Karmi's development that occurs late in Season 1 and even more in Season 2 is about her learning to [[DefrostingIceQueen open up more to people]] and be less aloof and hostile, particularly in regards to Hiro.
* DefrostingIceQueen:
** She starts showing this a little following Hiro covering for her in Granville’s office. Emphasis on "little" as she quickly shushes Hiro in getting a notification on his secret hero identity.
** Shown again in "Baymax and Hiro" when she appears to show concern when Hiro choked while Baymax was feeding him in his overpowered mode. Immediately after taking her phone out and recording a video out of amusement.
** "Prey Date" has a moment where she genuinely worries about Hiro's health when he gets [[spoiler: "kidnapped by Orso Knox"]], and later in the cafe when she's alone with Hiro.
* {{Foil}}: Her interest in germs and pathogens -- which can hurt people -- contrasts with Hiro, Tadashi, and Baymax's focus on healthcare and rescuing people.
* FriendlessBackground: According to Gogo, Karmi (though certainly very intelligent and a good student) doesn't really have any friends (other than her viruses, of whom Karmi's very proud of) and, up until Hiro came along, pretty much the only thing she really had going for her was the fact that she was the youngest student in the history of SFIT. And at the end of her debut episode, it turns out that Granville's actually fully aware that Karmi's not as nice as she likes make people think she is and that the reason she wanted Hiro and Karmi to hang out together was for Karmi's sake and not Hiro's.
* GenkiGirl: She appears to be one of these around Granville when Hiro is assigned to help her socialize; subverted when Granville leaves the room and she's revealed to be a StepfordSmiler, warning Hiro to not interfere with her workspace, since she used to be the youngest student at SFIT until Hiro enrolled.
** ''Double'' subverted come "Fan Friction" and "Big Problem", where we see that Karmi actually ''can'' be a genuine GenkiGirl when excited about something she has a passion for.
* GiverOfLameNames: While one or two of the codenames she gives the Big Hero 6 members in her fanfiction aren't that bad, like Gogo's "Speed Queen", Honey Lemon and Hiro are "Tall Girl" and "Captain Cutie", respectively.
* HatesMySecretIdentity: Karmi's in love with superhero Hiro, but really despises Hiro Hamada the student.
* HiddenDepths: "Issue 188" shows that Karmi has some artistic ability sketching Hiro in his superhero form in one of her notebooks. Additionally, while her lyrics need work, "Small Hiro One" shows that Karmi actually has some singing skills and can play the ukulele pretty well.
* HypocriticalHumor: In "Prey Date", after Orso Knox's containment unit changes from "secured" to "disabled":
-->'''Baymax''': Oh, no.\\
'''Karmi''': Do not "Oh, no"! I don't want to hear any "Oh, no-ing" from you!\\
'''Hiro''' Uh, Karmi?\\
'''Karmi''' [''faintly, after she sees Orso Knox has broken out'']: Oh, no.
** After the team has brought Orso Knox back:
-->'''Hiro''': So, Karmi, did your serum work?\\
'''Karmi''': Yes, but it's not ''my'' serum; at Sycorax, we don't like words like "my" or "me". The breakthrough was a team effort... based almost completely on ''my'' work.
* LaserGuidedKarma: In "Small Hiro One," she mocks Hiro for not being able to get into SFIT due to his age, but is the first of the students to get kicked out by Trengrove.
* LovesMyAlterEgo: She seemingly has no idea that Hiro is the young boy in Big Hero 6.
* MostFanficWritersAreGirls: Writes fanfiction about the team.
* NiceGirl: What she ''initially'' comes off as...[[SubvertedTrope and then she tells Hiro to back off]].
* NightmareFetishist: She's studying virology and bacteriology, and seems really attached to them.
* NotSoDifferent: As Baymax notes at one point, Karmi's essentially what Hiro would be like if he didn't have his friends (and replaced robotics with virology).
* PrecociousCrush: She has one on Hiro. Or, well, she has one on his superhero identity.
* TheRival: To Hiro, as she feels envious that he stole her position of being the youngest student in the history of the school. [[OneSidedRivalry Hiro isn't interested in a rivalry and would rather they be friends at the very least.]]
* StepfordSmiler: Her cheerful appearance around Professor Granville is a façade for her feelings at being displaced as the youngest student when Hiro enrolled at San Fransokyo Tech.
* TeenGenius: Karmi was previously the youngest person ever accepted into SFIT until Hiro came along.
* TerrifiedOfGerms: Ironically, despite -- or perhaps because of -- her obsessive devotion to germs and viruses, she is hyper-conscious of the slightest possibility of getting sick, and she runs away the moment Hiro so much as sniffs in her presence. It's also worth noting that while she's somewhat reckless in her growth and containment of deadly viruses, she does her serious work while wearing a full HazmatSuit.
* TrueBlueFemininity: Wears a blue dress for Liv Amara's celebratory gala in "Big Problem"
* {{Tsundere}}: The "tsun" side is shown around Hiro, while the "dere" side is shown around his heroic alter-ego, although it [[DefrostingIceQueen occasionally shows around Hiro as well,]] especially in Season 2 where she is constantly on the defensive about the notion that she and Hiro are friends or could become friends.
* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: Zigzagged. Karmi says that Hiro is the pathetic one for having Baymax as a friend, citing that at least her viruses are actually ''alive''.
