He made this decision because he felt closer to them on both a game and personal level, despite also being friends and allies with JC/Brett.
** In Week 12, his conflicting loyalties come into play once more as he must choose between Sam and JC, two individuals who have been loyal allies since the beginning. He ultimately chooses JC over Sam, believing that Sam poses a greater threat in competitions and that she could potentially win the game with the support of a bitter jury.
** Finally, the biggest dilemma Tyler faced in the game was at Final 4 when he had to choose between keeping Angela, his romantic partner, or Kaycee, his best friend and loyal ally since Day 1. Fortunately for Tyler, he never had to make that difficult decision because Kaycee won the Final 4 Veto and chose to evict Angela instead of Tyler, securing Tyler's spot in the Final 3. Haleigh's bitter resentment towards Angela remains unchanged. Haleigh's desire to have Angela evicted from the house stems from her intention to forge a stronger bond with Tyler. This relationship is a significant factor motivating Haleigh. She hopes that by removing Angela, Tyler will align himself with her and devote more attention to their connection. JC hated Angela and wanted her out because he was jealous of Tyler's affection for her. He also wanted to take Tyler to the Final 2, but felt that Angela was obstructing that possibility.

He strategically allowed Angela and/or Kaycee to eliminate his final two targets, Sam and JC, in order to avoid being directly responsible for their demise. He experiences remorse when he is compelled to betray or deceive his friends and allies, indicating that he does not possess absolute ruthlessness in the game.
* TheFace: He is a member of the Level Six alliance. He possesses exceptional social skills within the alliance, second only to Brett. He possesses a charming, persuasive, and friendly demeanor that instantly attracts people to him. He has a talent for gathering game information from people without being too obvious about it. Tyler is the mascot of the season. When fans reflect on their love for this season, Tyler's exceptional gameplay, his Level Six alliance, his relationships with the houseguests (both positive and negative), and his budding showmance with Angela are the primary reasons, accounting for 90% of their admiration. By the end of the season, Tyler establishes himself as the breakout character and one of the most adored and popular houseguests in the history of Big Brother. He not only reaches the Final 2 and comes close to winning the game, but he also earns the America's Favorite Houseguest prize as the cherry on top. "Big Brother 20" could easily be renamed "Big Tyler Crispen".
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: Tyler looks so sweet, friendly and approachable on the surface, but he sure is manipulative, cut-throat, strategic and manipulative. This makes him an extremely deadly and dangerous player.

* GuileHero: He possesses a robust physique akin to that of a truck, and he is regarded as one of the more amiable houseguests within his alliance, alongside Sam. This [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe kindness to Sam]] and smart under-the-radar gameplay got him the Cloud App. Furthermore, he exhibits exceptional strategic acumen, shrewdness, and manipulative tendencies, establishing himself as a formidable intellectual and strategic adversary. His instincts are exceptional, and his observations of the house and the other houseguests are consistently accurate and perceptive.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: He's blond-haired and is a good hearted and caring guy outside of the game.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Tyler took charge of the household and maintained control over the game from the beginning. He displayed dominance in social interactions, strategic decision-making, and competitive aspects. However, he ultimately does not receive the deserved recognition for his diligent efforts for the entire season. Despite making it to the Final 2, Tyler ultimately loses to his best friend and closest ally, Kaycee, in a closely contested vote of 5-4. Kaycee excelled in competitions during the later part of the game, taking advantage of the smaller number of remaining players. However, it is important to mention that she heavily relied on Tyler's strategic guidance and support throughout the entire game. Kaycee's strategic decision to align herself with Tyler, a player who had both strategic and social dominance, was the primary factor in her success in reaching the final stage of the game. Furthermore, her membership in the powerful alliance called Level Six strengthened her position. Strategically and socially, her work ethic did not align with Tyler's, who consistently displayed a strong drive and determination in both professional and personal endeavors.
* HasAType: Tyler admits to being physically attracted to tall, athletic women, hence his attraction to Angela who is a 5'10" StatuesqueStunner and AmazonianBeauty who is a fitness model for a living.
* TheHeart: Tyler is the glue that holds the Level Six alliance together. He could be considered this role of the house and of the season overall, because along with Sam, he's genuinely the nicest houseguest along with Sam and he was LovedByAll amongst his fellow housemates.
* HeroProtagonist: Given that Tyler receives a significant amount of screen time on the live shows, it can be argued that he is the central figure of the season and assumes the roles of both protagonist and narrator. It appears that the entire season revolves around him. It is logical that Tyler receives significant attention due to his dominant position as the strongest power player in the house. Additionally, his involvement in a showmance and possession of Final 2 agreements with almost all of the remaining housemates further contribute to his prominence.
* HeroicBuild: Downplayed. Tyler's physique does not display an excessively muscular build, but he still has noticeable muscle definition. He has the physique of a lean and muscular superhero.

Similarly, in Week 3, Tyler intentionally threw the Veto competition to Scottie to hide his alliance with Level Six. Winning the Veto would have required him to reveal his allegiance by using it on either Brett or Winston. In Week 6, Tyler won the Power of Veto, but he chose to let Angela keep it in order to hide their alliance and strengthen their influence. Tyler was aware that Angela would use the Veto on him. Furthermore, it is likely that Tyler intentionally threw the Final 5 Power of Veto to Kaycee to avoid revealing his loyalty to Sam, who expected him to use the Veto on her since she was on the block. Similarly, it is argued that Tyler also threw the Final 4 Power of Veto to Kaycee to avoid being put in a position where he had to choose between Angela and Kaycee as the sole vote for eviction. Tyler has possibly thrown several Head of Household competitions to downplay his threat level. In Week 4, he deliberately lost a physical endurance wall competition to Sam in order to protect himself and his allies from eviction.

In his Power of Veto (POV) ceremony speech during Week 7, Tyler assigns blame to Haleigh for the current predicament faced by her and her allies, including Rockstar. However, despite Tyler making some ruthless moves in the game, the one thing that Tyler does fear is his image and him being portrayed as someone who is hurting people or as someone who is a villain.
* TheLancer: Of the Level Six alliance. He's one of the most athletic competitors and immediately guns for players who try to make him do things he doesn't want to. However, in the grand scheme of things, he's more of TheManBehindTheMan with Angela and Kaycee as a PuppetKing.
* TheLeader: Of the Level Six alliance. He's the youngest member of the alliance but he's definitely the one keeping the alliance together and [[[TheManBehindTheMan the one pulling the strings and orchestrating all the game moves, evictions, and votes on a weekly basis. It's uncertain whether the Level Six alliance would be all that successful if Tyler wasn't part of the alliance.

** Evicting Scottie upon returning - Not only was Tyler the one to nominate him, but he made no attempt to connect with Scottie, creating another bitter juror.

** Throwing the final four veto in order to not get Angela or Kaycee's blood on his hands, he allowed Kaycee to cut his best option to win.
* LikeIsLikeAComma: Tyler throws in a like within his sentences every now and then when he's speaking. Fitting since he's the epitome of the [[SurferDude surfer guy archetype]] and this speech quirk is typical of surfer types.

Tyler had a fear that he'd be exposed so he passed off this role to Brett.
