* ArcherArchetype: Her primary weapon is a bow and arrow, and she's definitely skilled in her craft. She's also the main member of the team who mostly cares about fulfilling her duty, even if what she's demanded is morally wrong.

!!Battlecats

[[folder:Kelthan]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kelthan.png]]

The leader of the titular Battlecats.
----
* BlueIsHeroic: He's the most heroic and noble character on the team, and both his cape and armor consists of blue hues.
* DrowningMySorrows: He spends the first issue of Volume 3 getting drunk off mead, blaming himself for [[spoiler:King Ermand III's death and losing control over Fanghelm]].
* HonorBeforeReason: Deconstructed. In the final issue of Volume 1, he chooses not to kill the Dire Beast because [[spoiler:it's actually a transformed King Ermand II]]. Instead, Kelthan brings the beast back to Fanghelm and confronts King Ermand III about its origins. Once revealed, the King threatens to kill all of the Battlecats unless Kelthan does his duty. Begrudgingly, he does...and then Kelthan and the Battlecats are [[spoiler:imprisoned anyway and forced to participate in Rorinhal simply for speaking out of place]].
* LightningBruiser: Kelthan is a very stocky feline who wears heavy armor and also wields a {{BFS}}. This dos not stop him from being as swift and agile as his fellow companions, nor does it stop him from delivering very powerful, sometimes fatal attacks.
* MyCountryRightOrWrong: Kelthan will do anything he can to obey the laws of the Ermand Dynasty and the ways of the Lion God. This ends up being his FatalFlaw, as his strong devotion to his country contradicts his sense of honor when his superiors turn out to be keeping secrets from him.

[[folder:Kaleera]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kaleera.png]]

The Battlecats' archer.
----
* ArcherArchetype: Her primary weapon is a bow and arrow, and she's definitely skilled in her craft. She's also the main member of the team who mostly cares about fulfilling her duty, even if what she's demanded is morally wrong.
* FieryRedhead: She's the most emotional member of the team, prone to calling out her teammates whenever they do anything wrong or anything that gets the team in trouble.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Kaleera and Vaela use ranged and magic attacks, respectively, while Mekkar, Kelthan, and Zorien all fight with close-combat weapons.
* TheWorfEffect: She's immediately curb-stomped by Eltoreq in the second issue to show just how easily the Blood Moon can enhance someone's abilities.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Vaela]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vaela.png]]

The Battlecats' mage.
----
* TheChosenOne: She's one of the few felines in the world who possess the Mark of the Fang, which gives its owner small fragments of power from the Lion God.
* CombatMedic: On top of being a skilled fighter and magician, she has the power to heal her allies with her spells.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Vaela and Kaleera use magic and ranged attacks, respectively, while Kelthan, Mekkar, and Zorien all fight with close-combat weapons.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Most of her clothing consists of purple hues. She's the only member of the team capable of unleashing devastating magic attacks. She also bears the Mark of the Fang, which has given her a fraction of god-like powers.
* SquishyWizard: Despite how powerful she is, Vaela can't take a punch. She's subdued and later kidnapped by Valadar after being punched ''once'' in the gut in Issue 7. The very next issue ends with Vaela nearly perishing during the Rorinhal tournaments while the rest of the team walks away with only a couple superficial wounds.
* WorfHadTheFlu: Vaela is arguably the strongest member of the Battlecats...when she can use magic. Valadar manages to incapacitate her with a single punch in Issue 7 because they were fighting in the Garden of Solitude, a domain that voids the usage of Vaela's Shadow magic.

[[folder:Zorien]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zorien.png]]

The Battlecats' powerhouse.
----
* TheBigGuy: He's the brawniest character on the team, and also the one who delivers the heaviest blows against his enemies.
* ForgivenButNotForgotten: In spite of everything Eltoreq had done, Zorien chooses to forgive him at the end of Issue 15. [[spoiler:He does not spare him though, because he knows what kind of feline Eltoreq has become, and he definitely hasn't ''forgotten'' about all the horrible atrocities Eltoreq had committed]].
* GentleGiant: He's the least likely one to seek out fights and mostly keeps to himself, only fighting when necessary.
* MightyGlacier: He's not as swift as the other Battlecats, but he's physically the strongest and least likely to go down because of his build.
* NiceGuy: He's the nicest member on the team and usually is the one who tries to defuse any hostility amongst the group.
* TheQuietOne: Zorien has the least amount of dialogue in the group, only choosing to speak when he needs to or if someone is talking to him directly.
* TheStoic: He rarely shows emotion throughout the comic. Even when he's telling his team about Eltoreq's traitorous past, he manages to keep his emotions in check and doesn't succumb to anger.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He used to be best friends with Eltoreq when they were cubs.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Mekkar]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mekkar.png]]

The Battlecats' snarky bard.
----
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Mekkar isn't exactly bright, and his cocky attitude sometimes gets him in trouble and or puts him and the team in danger. Doesn't mean he's incapable of handling himself, nor does this mean he won't fight off his foes to defend himself or his allies.
* DeadpanSnarker: Whenever he's not making light of a situation, he's usually providing some witty or sarcastic commentary.
* MadeOfIron: Mekkar is ''repeatedly'' subjected to an insane amount of pain and somehow manages to take blows from someone like [[TheBrute Birch]] without dying. Miraculously, [[OnlyAFleshWound he'll get right back up and keep fighting]].
* PluckyComicRelief: Downplayed. Mekkar typically is the one to joke around on the team and banters with the other Battlecats. But he knows the time and place to make a joke, and he takes grave situations seriously just like the rest of his team does.
* ThrowingYourShieldAlwaysWorks: Mekkar resorts to this several times when he can't penetrate his foes' defenses. Most notable, he does this to kill a blood priest and it's how he mortally wounds [[spoiler:Birch]].
