* HonorBeforeReason: Deconstructed. In the final issue of Volume 1, he chooses not to kill the Dire Beast because [[spoiler:it's actually a transformed King Ermand II]]. Instead, Kelthan brings the beast back to Fanghelm and confronts King Ermand III about its origins. Once revealed, the King threatens to kill all of the Battlecats unless Kelthan does his duty.
