to:

* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: As the original cold/ice-themed Operator long before the introduction of Gnosis and Santalla or the Cold status effect even being used, Frostleaf's lack of ability to apply Cold is immediately noticeable as a strange oversight to newer players, with her other forms of crowd control in her kit being a representation of her ice-based Arts instead. It wasn't until the 5th anniversary which gave a chance to update her kit slightly via Lord modules that she was ''finally'' given the ability to apply Cold, allowing her to live up to her codename.

* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: Hoederer's ash-based arts are not viewed as particularly impressive, even by himself initially if his old diary notes are of any indication. However, they are still very useful, and Ines secretly admits to valuing them as he's used them to save her multiple times. [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration This carries over a little into gameplay as well]]; while Hoederer primarily does damage by bashing things in front of him with his sword, one of his third skill's effects is to deal true damage over time to targets that attack or are attacked by Hoederer, and while the damage isn't noticeable immediately, it will gradually add up quite significantly over the course of his skill's long duration.

* MageKiller: Not a main focus of his design, but Hoederer is particularly effective against Arts-based enemies as enemy Arts damage is typically balanced around most melee units having no RES and much less HP, and because of how Arts damage mitigation works, his second Talent effectively gives him 18-21 base RES with no external bonuses giving him more mitigation than an Arts Fighter while having over double their base HP. And since Arts enemies will usually have [[SquishyWizard high RES but low DEF, HP or both]] while Hoederer does primarily large amounts of physical damage, he will typically shrug off their attacks like nothing and proceed to crush them within a couple of hits.

* EyepatchOfPower: At some point between "Darknights' Memoir" and Episode 10, he loses his eye and begins wearing an eyepatch as part of his new knightly look. This doesn't slow him down any at all, as shown during his brief duel with W where he very easily overpowers her and could have easily killed her to keep up appearances if not for [[TheDreaded Ascalon]] showing up when she did.
