A noble family that has ruled Avantas'tol for seven generations. They are renowned as a clan of [[WarriorPoet warrior poets]] (and the occasional brutal conqueror).

The Prince of the Arkn. The only blood offspring of Eldrici Laz'ros.

* EMP: The entire region is blanketed by a magic version of this (generated by a border of massive ethric crystals), which knocks out any Dekn tech that enters (or is left within) its borders. (The Eldrici's castle is protected, however: it's built of metal alloys, which basically turn it into a giant Faraday cage.)

* AbusiveParents: He was emotionally and physically abusive to his three sons in their childhood, and remains verbally and emotionally abusive to Tabbris when he's an adult.
* DomesticAbuse: In addition to abusing his three sons, he's confirmed to have mistreated his wife, Iaealis, when she was alive. (In fact, it's strongly suspected that he was responsible for her death.)

An independent monarchy located on the forested, mountainous border between Distalia and Mistria. Known as The City of Glass and Stone and the Traveller's Window, it has been allowed to remain independent due to negotiations between the Eldrici and the ancient rulers of the city. It is known for its lavish and beautiful architecture, and is a hub of commerce and trade, as well as one of the biggest den of underground gambling in all of the Empyrium.

* TheAgeless: Subverted; while Arkn age more slowly than humans, they ''do'' age. Arkn normally reach ​bodies naturally age more slowly than a human's, while their minds develop faster. By the age of two, Arkn are normally able to walk, speak, read, and write in full sentences. They typically begin puberty when they're between 110 and 130 years old, and reach physical maturity at 200; they are considered legal adults by the age of 160, the age at which Arkn can normally produce children. They generally suffer less physical degradation than Humans in old age, though they do become weaker and slower; notably, the strength and duration of their aura tends to weaken, as they lose muscle control. Arkn are also susceptible to many of the same mental issues that effect elderly Humans, such as memory loss and dementia (though these conditions often progress more slowly).
