----
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: In the manga, the concept of angels is not introduced until volume 12, when Belldandy and Peorth summon Holy Bell and Gorgeous Rose as part of their competition. Nothing is actually said about what angels really ''are'', with information about them being revealed over the course of several later chapters. However, in the anime Holy Bell is introduced in episode 3 when she helps Belldandy restore the temple, and Belldandy later gives Keiichi a brief explanation of what angels are.
* AntiGravityClothing: Their garbs consist of nothing but floating strips of fabric, which conveniently cover all interesting bits.
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: Indirectly: whenever goddesses are sick or receive damage, it's their angels who show the obvious physical changes that are being incurred.
* BeneathTheMask: Invoked. The angels are subject to the exact same emotions as their hosts; it's especially egregious in the case of Noble Scarlet, as all of her initial actions reflected Skuld's deeper desires (whereas Skuld was openly reluctant to approach Sentaro, Noble Scarlet pushed her onward anyway, even though doing this meant reverting to egg form per Skuld's order).
* CantLiveWithoutYou: Goddesses and their angels are so tightly-wound together that separating them is an extremely traumatic experience that usually leaves the goddess unconscious and unresponsive. The only way to cure this condition is to reunite the goddess with her angel.
* CuteBruiser: All angels, though Lind's twin angels and Noble Scarlet are of special mention.
* CuteMute: None of the angels can speak, although they can still perfectly communicate with their goddesses.
* {{Familiar}}: They're heavenly and demonic entities that are bound to goddesses and demons respectively in order to enhance their powers and indicators of their state.
* FreakinessShame: Not the angels themselves, but two goddesses (Urd and Lind) have to work through feelings of shame because of their 'imperfect' angels. Urd's World of Elegance is half white, half black, reflecting her dual nature. Lind's angel appears to have only one wing, but it's only because she (initially) can't manifest her angel's twin, who has the other.
* GuardianAngel: An angel is a goddess's closest companion, and is the mirror reflecting a goddess's true nature and innermost soul.
* HeroicBSOD: According to Keiichi (who was the only human to have been host to an angel), the sense of loss that goddesses feel when their angels are removed from them is effectively crippling; in perspective, during the battle against the Angel Eater, Lind lost ''both'' Spear Mint and Cool Mint.
* LiteralMinded: In the case of young angels and familiars such as Noble Scarlet and Die Wespe der Blauen Lanze, which causes considerable problems for their hosts. Mokkurkalfi's familiars are also prone to this while they're on earth, though they are following compulsive orders from the Daimakaicho Hagal to tip the wish balance.
* {{Plucky Girl}}s: In droves.
* PsychicLink: Angels share a very deep bond with their goddess and implicitly understand each other.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: Angels are introduced to goddesses at an early age as permanent companions and enhancers of their powers.
* ThePowerOfLove: A goddess's love is the source of an angel's powers. This is demonstrated a couple of times in the series; Skuld first gains the ability to host an angel (albeit a small one) when she gets her first crush, and Keiichi is able to temporarily support Lind's angel because he's the recipient of the love (both romantic and platonic) of multiple goddesses.
* RuleOfCute: All angels (and even the familiar) share the same perkiness and enthusiasm. Not to mention, they're all very [[CuddleBug affectionate huggers]].
* TheSymbiote: Goddesses and angels are effectively dependent of one another once they are bound. [[spoiler:This is a vulnerability that is exploited at least twice in the manga by demons.]]
* {{Synchronization}}: Angels are psychically linked to their goddess hosts.
** This even extends to their physical appearances. If you look closely, goddesses and their bonded angels share the same eye and facial shapes as well as body proportions. Only the eye colors, hair styles, and hair colors are different.
* TrueCompanions: What every angel is to her goddess. Belldandy states that, to a goddess, her angel is her closest companion. Peorth also states that an angel and her goddess are "one heart in two bodies."
* TwoBeingsOneBody: In most cases; in the case of Lind, it's three beings in one body.
* UndyingLoyalty: Every angel feels this for her goddess.
* TheVoiceless: To mortals. The angels can speak not only to their goddess hosts but also to one another. Inexperienced angels and goddesses have to communicate via gestures, though time makes the communication between the parts implicit, as they are one mind and one soul.

[[folder:Holy Bell]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/holy_bell_manga_art.png]]

Belldandy's angel.
----
* AdaptationalEarlyAppearance: In the manga, she (along with Gorgeous Rose and the concept of angels in general) first appears in volume 12, alongside Peorth's debut. In the anime however, she appears ''much'' earlier, being summoned near the start of the story to help Belldandy restore the temple she and Keiichi would soon come to live in.
* ArcherArchetype: She can summon a bow and arrows formed out of wind-elemental energy.
* BlowYouAway: Her powers are wind-based.

[[folder:World of Elegance]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elegance_manga_art.png]]

Urd's angel.
----
* DualityMotif: Representing Urd's [[BornOfHeavenAndHell angel-demon hybrid nature]], World of Elegance's hair and wings are white on the right side and black on the left side.
* PlayingWithFire: She utilizes fire magic. In fact, Urd needs to summon her if she wants to use a fire spell.

[[folder:Noble Scarlet]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/noble_scarlet_manga_art.png]]

Skuld's angel.
----
* CheerfulChild: She's young (by angel standards), so of course she's absolutely adorable.
* EggMacGuffin: For a certain amount of screentime she's just an angel egg Skuld carries, since Skuld can't properly use her.
* MakingASplash: She uses water magic.

[[folder:Gorgeous Rose]]
[[quoteright:332:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gorgeous_rose_manga_art.png]]

Peorth's angel.
----
* GardenGarment: Her "clothes" are thorny vines that cover her breasts.
* GreenThumb: She mainly attacks with roses and thorny vines.
* WingShield: During the Velsper arc, when Velsper tries to attack Peorth. Before the attack can hit her, Gorgeous Rose appears and wraps her wings around Peorth to protect her.

[[folder:Spear Mint and Cool Mint]]
[[quoteright:291:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spear_mint_and_cool_mint.png]]

Lind's twin one-winged angels.
----
* AnIcePerson: Cool has ice-based powers. Spear presumably has fire.
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: They look identical, but Cool has blue eyes and Spear has red eyes. They also have mirrored symmetry.
