This also means he himself becomes weak to whatever counters his new faction, though.

* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: Hypogeans are born from mortal suffering and were created as weapons to destroy Esperia. The vast majority of Hypogeans are {{Sadist}}s by their very nature. But even so, their nature is not pure, which has allowed for rare exceptions.

* GutturalGrowler: The English dub gives him a deep, gravelly voice. In Chinese, he speaks instead in a CreepyMonotone that's no less deep or throaty.

* TranslationTrainWreck: Skreg is one of the characters whose personality is most drastically changed in the English version. Originally, he was [[ABoyAndHisX a plucky little guy with a big monster friend]] that he often talks to directly and calls [[AffectionateNickname Affectionate Nicknames]]. In the English version, his attitude is much more aggressive, and he acknowledges his ironjaw’s existence much less, to the point of even the ironjaw’s [[NoNameGiven name]] being excluded from the English translation of his lore. This seems to have been averted somewhat as in the Cycle of Sorrow event in voyage of Wonders, Skreg directly calls his steed Savagehorn, and at the end calls him by one of his [[AffectionateNickname Affectionate Nicknames]] (big guy, in this instance).

* FirstOfHisKind: She is probably the first Hypogean. However, she was born from humanity's rebellion rather than Annih, and her malice originates from nurture rather than nature, with Liberta feeling that she isn't really evil at all.
