Trimming Word Cruft. Don't say "[Title] is this"; just go straight to WHY [Title] is "this".

** One standout theme is the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okAeis_Pdgw Elite Race theme]] (which is ostensibly also the theme music of the actual ''Split/Second'' TV show as you hear bits of the main riff in other parts of the game). The theme starts out with a subtle, bassy tone in the first lap before bringing out the main riff more on the second lap and finishing in an epic crescendo on the final lap with an intense guitar section added to the mix. It really accentuates the heart-racing intensity that the game is trying to convey. Sadly, this theme is not included in the PSP version (where the Elite Races simply use the same soundtrack as the rest of the game).
** The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoGBIjfCZk0 music]] that plays during Elite Races, when it reaches its highest point, is easily classifiable as this. ''Especially'' if you are blazing ahead and leaving the so-called Elites eating your dust.
** It's even better when the main riff kicks in and you manage to [[ThemeMusicPowerUp fight your way from the back of the pack to 1st place]].
** Also, the music that plays before and after the Elite Races - the former for sounding incredibly ominous, and the latter for sounding incredibly victorious and having a chorus back it. All this for a ''racing game'', folks.

* Thanks to the game's VariableMix, each piece of music has its own flavor that escalates to a climactic finish.
