* Atreyu's first awesome moment comes when you realize how long he lasts in the Swamps of Sadness without sinking. Considering how heartbroken he is over Artax's death, the sheer fact that he finds the strength to keep going until he reaches Morla counts as pretty inspiring.

* Atreyu's meeting with G'mork, while less dramatic than in the film, still counts as pretty awesome, [[spoiler: especially when G'mork at the end of the scene realizes just who it is he's spent the last half-hour talking to and basically laughs himself to death over the irony]].
