* A villainous example to be sure, but the season ends with ''[[TheBadGuyWins Vecna actually winning!]]'' Previous villains like the Demogorgon, Brenner, the Soviets and the Mind-Flayer (Though that last one technically is part of Vecna) all ended up losing to the protagonists in the their respective seasons, however though they killed his physical body and narrowly saved Max, even though she is in a coma, his plan ultimately came to fruition by temporarily killing the former. Now the gate has fully opened with the Upside Down merging with our dimension as dark clouds filled with red thunder and lightning rise from the earthquake sized cracks in Hawkins, readying his forces for one glorious war.

** Really, the entire climax of the episode is a masterpiece of acting, CGI, cinematography, editing, music, practical effects and sound effects.

* Argyle correctly deduces El's location by spotting some tyre tracks in the desert and noticing that they're far too thick to belong to a regular car, which he states could only belong to a military vehicle.
* After Brenner betrays Dr. Owens and plans to keep El prisoner at the silo, El finally has enough and gives Brenner a brutal but well-deserved [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech Reason You Suck Speech]] where she calls him out for all the damage his actions have caused. After all the manipulations and {{Gaslighting}} Brenner has done to El, it's extremely satisfying to see El refuse to put up with his abusive crap any longer. Bonus points also go to El refusing to forgive or absolve Brenner for his crimes when he's dying.

** An in-universe detail that makes this scene even more impressive is that Metallica released Master of Puppets in March of 1986, and the season takes place around the end of March of 1986, implying that in the span of less than a month, Eddie was able to learn how to play Master of Puppets

*** The band then one-upped it by releasing a duet with the show on Tiktok wearing hellfire club shirts as a tribute to Eddie.

* Steve beating off (and even biting the head of one of) the demobats. Eddie had to comment it was "very metal". Extra points must be given for Steve managing to hold off most of the swarm while shirtless, barefoot, and armed only with a boat oar before the others arrive.

** Truly, this has to be seen to be appreciated. After finding his house empty, with ''something'' after him, Will immediately goes to the shed where he knows a rifle and ammunition is stored, loads the clip correctly even with visible nervous trembling, seats the magazine and readies the weapon. Remember that he is ''eleven'' years old. How many people, much less adults, could do any of these things in a panic? Never mind that the threat was too supernatural to deal with in this manner, by the end of the sequence, you will love this kid. Compare the first meeting of Joyce and the monster, she is so distraught she can barely fit a key into her car's ignition.

** Hopper, Joyce, and Murray destroying the Demogorgons in the Russian prison, complete with Hop grabbing a sword from the massacre he and Dimitri survived and going toe to toe with the last one, taking its head while delivering a warrior's scream. Hopper is no longer just a badass Police Sheriff, he's a ''demonslayer''.

** Hopper, Joyce, and Murray destroying the Demogorgons in the Russian prison, complete with Hop grabbing a sword from the massacre he and Dimitri survived and going toe to toe with the last one, taking its head while delivering a warrior's scream.

* Eleven single-handedly taking down an ''entire military squad's vehicles, including a helicopter.'' Her powers are truly back and better than before.

Now that's one hell of a distraction. Even better, Creator/JosephQuinn [[TheCastShowoff really does play guitar]] and he learned the song for real.

** Lucas finally resolving to beat Jason in order to save Max. As he's being choked out, Lucas finally snaps and delivers a glorious beatdown to him, knocking him cold. And because Jason refused to listen to him, he was rewarded by waking up to Vecna's ley line quake bisecting him.

** Nancy, Jonathan, and Robin finally making it to Vecna and ''lighting the bastard up with Molotov cocktails.'' The only reason he survived was that he fell through a window as Nancy was blasting him and made a run for it.

* All of the fights count in various ways.

** Hopper, Joyce, and Murray destroying the Demogorgons in the Russian prison, complete with Hop grabbing a sword from the massacre he and Dimitri survived and going toe to toe with the last one, and taking its head.
