While Beauty and Dandy are heading off to the Chicken Kitchen with Kamila in tow, and Sissel goes there to investigate what happened to Lynne, Amelie's fever has subsided a bit so that she gets out of bed past her oblivious mother Emma (who is still typing her novel) with a lot of her allowance money and walks out on her own all the way to some gift shop where she buys a crystal glass lighter for her father's birthday (unaware that he had died of a heart attack on that day on hearing of her staged kidnapping and had to be saved by Sissel). While Sissel is investigating the "kidnapping", she walks out of the shop by midnight and goes all the way back home by 12:30 AM so that she can stow away the lighter next to the phone and get back to sleep. What a spirited young firecracker.
