* ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10082308/1/Loba Loba]]'''s a story in which instead of growing up in an orphanage, [[Series/OnceUponATime Emma Swan]] was taken in by [[Series/{{Garo}} a Makai village]] and ended up becoming a Makai Knight, a feat in of itself due to [[TheSmurfettePrinciple a lack of female Knights]]. Not only this, but [[ForWantOfANail because of how she's raised]], she winds up being the AgentMulder rather than the AgentScully. The moment comes in when this change, combined with several others (such as how her life is now that she's a Makai Knight), culminates in a ''very'' different conversation with [[BigBad Regina]] in which she winds up making Regina ''stutter''. Just so we're clear, this is [[ManipulativeBitch Regina]] we're talking about, and for almost all of Season 1, she was untouchable. Because of a few, tiny tweaks, Emma manages to push Regina's buttons and wind up breaking her within the first encounter. However, that isn't to say Regina doesn't go down without a fight. After all, [[CallBack she has no idea what she's capable of]].

* Stellar Requiem's ''Film/TronLegacy'' fanfic ''Survivor's Tale'' pulls an awesome one; Yori has been working for LaResistance inside the system and is captured. Clu, in a particularly sadistic dick move, decides to send her to [[GladiatorGames The Games]] and have "Rinzler" finish her off. She's an engineer, not a fighter, and she figures out ''exactly'' who Rinzler is. She manages to use the arena physics to surprise him, then pulls a move that knocks them both out, essentially fighting the champion aka her BrainwashedAndCrazy husband to a draw! It's even more awesome on a meta level, since that's been a popular fanfic cliche to "dispose" of the character and explain her SequelNonEntity status.

* Slightly meta, but the existence of Yuletide. Fans from around the world get together once a year to give each other presents in the form of stories for small fandoms. Several of the fandom categories on Website/ArchiveOfOurOwn were ''created'' just for Yuletide. As December becomes the month of Yuletide with fans gushing about how much and why they love such-and-such small fandom, the craziness of the chats, the hippos leaping in to help out, anyone who rushes in for a last minute beta during Yuletide madness, the army of pitch hitters standing by to make sure no one goes without a Yuletide story... It's all GLORIOUS

Everyone expects an open-and-shut case and a quick execution... Except Gina's lawyer is Romo Lampkin, who quickly gives a Wolverine observer the impression he could have got ''Stefan Amaris'' off with a warning:

* An AU story set during Marvel's ComicBook/CivilWar, "[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3179790/1/Addition_to_the_Fray Addition To The Fray]]" by Adrian Tullberg, has Doctor Doom confront [[ComicBook/FantasticFour Reed Richards]], via hologram, to find out why he has chosen to side with Iron Man, given his more liberal views in the past. Reed reluctantly informs Doom that SHIELD had sent spy-bots to infiltrate the Baxter Building, take photos of Franklin and Valeria and sent them to Reed, with an implied threat that he should side with them to keep his children safe. Doom, recalling that he had declared Valeria to be under his protection, decides to take matters in his own hands, and a Doom-hologram suddenly appears at SHIELD headquarters.
