A vampire who isn't extremely old might get very lucky and be the one to catch a slayer in a mistake, or she might be overwhelmed by a group, but that's not what happened with Spike. He purposefully, on two occasions, sought a slayer out and beat her in a fair fight. One-on-one, with no weapons other than his own fists and fangs and whatever he might find in their surroundings. And he did it before he'd been undead even one century. Im fact, Spike is so awesome InUniverse that ''there's at least one thesis by the Watcher written specifically on him''.

* In the E-Comic "Harmony Comes to the Nation", Jane Espenson writes a Buffyverse-only one for... Creator/StephenColbert! It's a S8 tie-in. The plot? It's a two page comic showing an interview with Harmony after her show becomes big. Oh, and in his trademark style, points out her hypocrisy and stupidity.

* The Initiative are bastards, no doubt about that, but it's still awesome and even reassuring to see that we humans are able to put up at least a fairly decent fight against the demons even with no vampire slayers around.

* Buffy unching out Amy's abusive mother and deflecting her curse back at her. If nothing else, this is awesome owing as to how satisfying it was.

* Willow has had a [[ChildhoodFriendRomance huge crush]] on Xander since they were kids. Xander has been possessed by a hyena spirit, turning him into a predatory bully. Xander has been captured and locked up, and lays on the charm trying to get Willow to let him out. As soon as she comes within reach, he lunges at her and she deftly dodges out of the way, now [[SecretTestOfCharacter knowing for certain]] she can't trust him (for the duration of his possession).

* There's a moment that establishes Buffy as the perfect {{Foil}} to Faith. She's about to stake Vampire!Willow and Willow calls out "Buffy, no!" just as Buffy had when Faith was about to stake the Deputy Mayor. Buffy is able to stop as soon as Willow calls out, showing her perfect reflexes.

* The above speech from is Willow's ''second''-best speech from the episode. Here's the best one, from where Willow reveals to Buffy that she's chosen to go to college at UC Sunnydale.
