* You gotta give credit were credit is due; the fact that The Hunter went from some poor schlub trying to find a cure for his/her illness and getting in ''way'' over his/her head with the Yharnam Hunt to the most {{Badass}} Hunter in the city is certainly a nice feather in your cap to have. S/He's basically an ActionSurvivor that got turned UpToEleven. And this goes double if you chose the "[[JokeCharacter Waste of Skin]]" origin.

* While the idea of versatile transforming weapons is awesome already, transformation animations deserve a separate mention. Not only a player can switch between two forms of a weapon between fights but it is possible to perform a transformation without even breaking a combo. While some weapons like Saw Cleaver/Spear just snap open or shut mid-swing with a satisfying *cling* and add the force of the blade release to the force of the impact, some weapons’ transforming attacks are more elaborate. For example Blade of Mercy attack transformation involves a diagonal slash in a shortsword form after which the blade of a sword splits in two daggers and while one dagger remains in the characters right hand the second dagger flies off and the player catches it with his left hand midair assuming a dual wield fighting stance. Transition between Kirkhammer’s shortsword and hammer forms is arguably even more awesome. After swinging with a shortsword, a character reaches with his left hand for the hammer attached to his back and brings it down to the ground in a devastating overhead swing. When the hammer is down, the character proceeds to somewhat slowly sheath the shortsword into the hammer’s handle then finally picks up the weapon and rests it on a shoulder (bonus awesome if you manage to pancake some unfortunate monster with an overhead) .

* In Cainhurst Castle, you will encounter a number of tough enemies. They are among the most skilled swordsmen you will ever encounter in a game, wielding rapiers with deadly precision. If you're not on your guard, they can kill you in seconds. Are they the queen's PraetorianGuard? No, they're the castle's ''[[BattleButler cleaning staff]]''!

* Anytime the player slays a boss is awesome. Instead of '''BOSS DEFEATED''' like it's predecessors, ''Bloodborne'' uses '''PREY SLAUGHTERED'''. That's right; all the giant horrors and abominations that roam Yharnam are merely things meant to be hunted and killed by you.

* The Amygdala boss fight is pretty awesome, you are fighting a "God" of Fear and Nightmares, but when you bring her down to 1/3rd of her health she [[spoiler: rips off her back arms and starts using them as weapons. You managed to piss of a "God" so much that she mutilates herself in an effort to kill you.]] Very awesome.
** Also a moment of awesome for the Amygdala herself. She REALLY doesn't want to lose.

* At first, it may be difficult to take Old Hunter Djura seriously. Although a hunter, he is still more-or less human, and after the fight with the altered Father Gascoigne, another old man doesn't seem like a dire threat. As you make your way through Old Yharnam, dismissing or outright ignoring his warnings to turn back, you round a corner [[spoiler: only to be immediately pasted by a hellishly lethal ''Gatling cannon'']], courtesy of mister Djura.

** You may also expect him to be a GlassCannon, due to his age and his reliance on heavy weapons. Yet if players finally manage to reach him, he averts that trope with a vengeance.

It's a shame you're character isn't more expressive; I would have loved to see their face when that happned.
** Also worthy of note is his total aversion of the [[GlassCannon Glass Cannon]] trope. Many players familiar with that trope were caught off guard when he proved that just because he ''can'' fight you from a distance didn't mean that he ''had'' to. He was such an epitome of the [[CoolOldGuy Cool Old Guy]] stereotype that this troper was tempted to just leave him alone after that.
