Nocelized version(pretty much non-canon) said that [[spoiler:the Turn A, and presumably the Turn X, are capable of regenerating their pilot inevitably]]. Given that [[spoiler:the Moonlight Butterfly is just an extension of the Turn units' nanomachines]], there is no reason not to think that [[spoiler:Gym will be trapped in the Moonlight Butterfly's cocoon, fully conscious, for all time]].

* FridgeHorror: Minor villain [[spoiler: Teteth Helleh]] gets some humanization just before she dies. 30 episodes later, we see the reason for her humanization (her mother) [[spoiler:come out of Hibernation]] looking for her. Two characters nearby comment that they've heard the name she's calling out for before.

** In ''SuperRobotWars'', pilots can only switch around their mecha within their own series (GundamWing pilots cannot pilot UC mobile suits and vice-versa.) However, every time Turn A is featured, its mobile suits are all filed under Universal Century, allowing pilots from Turn A to use UC suits and vice-versa, feeding more fuel to the speculation that Turn A takes place in a distant future after UC Gundam.

* StockFootage: Completely and utterly absent. This is surprising for a Gundam series.

Its abilities include: its armor granting invulnerability to kinetic weapons, its I-field being capable of shrugging off all forms of energy weapons (as well as being able to block kinetic weapons, which most I-fields cannot), teleportation, its nanomachines being capable of fully regenerating itself and its pilot (though complete regeneration is said to take thousands of years), its beam rifle having the same level of power as UC colony lasers, being able to [[EverythingIsOnline hack and subvert enemy systems remotely]] (including giant space stations like [[Anime/MobileSuitVictoryGundam Keilas Guilie]]), the Moonlight Butterfly at full strength covering everything from Earth to Jupiter, using its teleportation ability to [[BottomlessMagazines refill its chest missile silos directly from Earth]] (and note that these can include [[NuclearOption nuclear missiles]]), able to warp its beam shots wherever it wants including directly into enemy cockpits, among others. It's notable as the last Gundam work by creator YoshiyukiTomino, his first outside the Universal Century timeline begun by [[MobileSuitGundam the original series]], and arguably one of his best efforts. It also came after he finally [[CreatorBreakdown won his years-long battle with depression]], thus rather stunningly averting his KillEmAll reputation.

** SuperRobotWars expands this: he doesn't like ''white'' Gundams. Other colors, like red and blue (from GundamX), he doesn't care about.

*** Harry Ord is definitely more a [[ZetaGundam QUATTRO]] than a CHAR. Obvious jokes aside, he wears shades rather than a mask, and pilots a gold Mobile Suit. Whereas other CHAR characters opted to imitate MSG Char and CCA Char, Harry is one of the few that really takes Zeta Char and runs with it.

** [[TakehitoKoyasu Gym Ginghnham]] would certainly not go far out of place [[GundamWing donning a mask and getting in his Talgeese...]]

* HumanPopsicle: Cryostasis is how the Moonrace are able to live for several hundred years. Some have even been in stasis from the Black History, such as Corin Nander [[spoiler:being a veteran from the [[GundamWing After Colony]] era]].

* MultipleChoicePast: The [[spoiler:Turn-X]]'s mysterious origins. It's vaguely implied to have been created by aliens in the series, but the videogame ''G Generation F'' seems to indicate that it was a descendant of [[GGundam the Devil Gundam]], as the OriginalGeneration unit Devil Gundam Junior bears an uncanny resemblance to it.

** Both openings make use of this. Freeze-framing the first opening, for instance, reveals the [[MobileSuitGundam RX-78-2]], the [[CharsCounterattack RX-93 Nu Gundam]], the [[ZetaGundam Gundam Mk. ** In episode 17, a Moonrace panics and mistakes lightning for a Militia weapon, similar to a Zeon soldier's reaction in the original MobileSuitGundam.

** The Kapool combines several {{Mythology Gag}}s in one - it's derisively called the 'Ball', referencing the best known [[TheScrappy Scrappy]] mech of ''Gundam'', AND the way it unfolds into mech mode brings to mind the Haro. The original [[GundamZZ Capule]] was colored blue, but the ones in Turn A are Haro green, completing the illusion.
** Episode 43 takes this to its logical conclusion, where, as the Black History is revealed, [[spoiler:clips from all previous Gundam series are shown; in the famous scene where [[MobileSuitGundam Amuro in the RX-78-2 spears a Zaku II through the cockpit with his beam saber]], Miashei notes that it's the Turn A and a Borjanon, but Sochie notes that the RX-78-2 looks much older. Indeed, the last five minutes of this episode is a pure CrowningMomentOfAwesome for all Gundam fans.]]

** Corin Nander was the same, apparently for much ''much'' longer than Dianna as he apparently suffered some form of brain damage or other while in stasis. [[spoiler: He's been around since the Black History, which occurs at least 2,345 years before the main story takes place. It's implied he's actually the sole survivor of the colony [[GundamWing Quatre]] blew up with Wing Zero during his epic freakout.]]

** The Turn X deserves specific mention for its [[GGundam Shining Finger Attack]]. At one point, Gym even takes down a [=WaDOM=] by picking it up and ''[[CrowningMomentOfAwesome performing an Erupting God Finger on it]]''.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: The Kapool is romanized differently than [[spoiler:its Universal Century counterpart from GundamZZ, where it appeared as the "Capule"]].

* FreudWasRight: The most prominent Mobile Suits in the series have their cockpits situated in the groin region. Said cockpits are spherical and travel up and down long shafts in order to descend to/ascend from ground level.

** The symbol "Turn A" is a mathmatical symbol meaning "all items in a set". Some assume that this is Tomino's way of bringing all the Gundam series thus far into one universe.
