A new anime as part of the fall 2011 lineup. Produced by {{Sunrise}}, it premiered on October 2, 2011. It's directed by JunichiSato and despite the somewhat sub-par animation, the series employs an all-star voice cast. If you're looking for a crash course in {{Shonen}} tropes, but want to avoid the long-drawn out fights that plague battle mangas like ''{{Bleach}}'' and ''DragonBall'', this is the anime for you.

* BrattyHalfPint: Cubic, but he's different from most other children who fall under this trope in that he immediately acknowledges Kaito's genius. Cubic qualifies by trying to force Kaito to stop wasting his genius on puzzles and to work for him, even foolishly laughing at a POG member for thinking that the puzzle was all a game.
* ChildProdigy: Cubic is a little kid that needs a specially designed robot/moped to keep up with his much taller classmates, but he also qualifies as the much older Gammon's senpai.
* IdiotHero: Kaito again. Gammon also counts.
** Could be a subversion because both of them are absolute genius puzzle solvers.

* ObfuscatingStupidity: Kaito again. Subverted when after the start of the first episode, most people begin to see him as a formidable Solver.

* TagAlongKid: Nonoha, who almost never assists in solving the puzzles, but always accompanies Kaito when he goes to solve one.
** In episode 3 she actually did help by finding the numbers for several of the spots around the park.

Taking this as a challenge, he and his friend, Nonoha, decide to follow their directions, only to be forced to solve puzzles that have a dangerous touch of DeathTrap to them. These are the "Philosopher's Puzzles"; dangerous puzzles that, if left unsolved, will cause some sort of disaster. Not only that, but there is a mysterious organization known as POG that's activating these puzzles and are specifically targeting Kaito in order to force him to solve them.
