''Doraemon: Nobita's Sky Utopia'' is the 42[[superscript:nd]] film of the ''Franchise/{{Doraemon}}'' franchise, and the first entry since ''Anime/DoraemonNobitasTreasureIsland'' to follow an original premise.

* BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy: Nobita realizes that Paradapia is the Dragon Palace of Myth/JapaneseMythology and theorizes that all the legends about utopias stemmed from Paradapia at various points in time and space.

This time, the gang's adventures takes them to the skies when Doraemon's new airship gadget brings them to Paradapia, the titular Sky Utopia, a world in the clouds where different lands exists alongside one another. While appearing perfect on the surface, however a run-in with a robot shaped like an andromorphic cat named Sonya leads to revelation of a massive conspiracy.

* OutsideRide: In the middle of an intense chase shown in the trailer, Doraemon managed to jettison from his plane and land into Nobita's which was passing right below him.
* StableTimeLoop: [[spoiler:When the Three Sage decides to invade their hometown and followed by the eventual downfall of the floating city, the events takes place not too long before the gang started their expedition as they unintentionally travel back in time.]]
