* InvoluntaryGroupSplit: After Sherman's goons assaulted Rokoro village, Suneo, Kurajo and Koron gets separated from the gang in the middle of the chaos. It was at this point when Suneo realize he needs to put his usual LovableCoward nature aside to keep Kurajo and Kuon safe, which he did.

* IslandOfMystery: Miracle Island, the futuristic nature sanctuary for preserving once-extinct species - collected from the past before their extinction and sent two centuries into the future - which most of the adventure took place.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: Shortly after Nobisuke gets dragged to Miracle Island by the absent-minded Gonsuke, he gets hit by the Memory Stick (which Doraemon unintentionally left on said island) causing Nobisuke to forget who he is. A further misunderstanding with Koron leads to Nobisuke mistaking his own name as Dakke, which sticks for the rest of the film until [[spoiler: the end of the adventure where Nobisuke gets sent back to the 1980s - with his present memories restored, but his adventures on Miracle Island erased]].
* FaceDoodling: Nobita gets his face scribbled by Koron after losing a drawing contest with Nobisuke, much to the amusement of Gian, Suneo, Shizuka, and the rest of the Koron village kids. Doraemon then compliments Nobita's drawing of a giant lizard is excellent... only to be informed they're supposed to be drawing Kurajo, Koron's pet ''dodo''. But then again, art really isn't Nobita's forte (like ''so many'' other things).
* OhCrap:
** When Nobisuke, after being mistook by Gonsuke to be Nobita and delivered to the future, realize he's in Miracle Island, filled with extinct, prehistoric animals.
** Doraemon gets ''two'' of these within less than three minutes of screen time during the woolly rhinoceros chase, when the Anywhere Door and Take-Copter gets destroyed in a row and he's the only one who noticed that.
* PantheraAwesome: The titular island is home to a huge, ferocious saber-toothed tiger, appearing for the first time with Nobisuke accidentally landing on it after walking off a cliff causing the tiger to run around like crazy with Nobisuke clinging on it's back for dear life. This however leads to Nobisuke's AccidentalHero moment, with the tiger scaring away Sky, Lock and Snake which are about to abduct Koron and the other village kids.
* QuirkyMinibossSquad: Sky, Lock and Snake, the three minions serving Sherman who spends much of the film antagonizing Doraemon and friends, pursuing the heroes (as well as Dakke) left and right throughout the island.
* RhinoRampage: How the gang first meets Nobisuke - Gian and Suneo, exploring the island, accidentally agitates a prehistoric woolly rhinoceros, resulting in a chase scene they [[DontAskJustRun unintentionally drags young Nobisuke into]] until all three of them ends up stuck in a tree, needing Doraemon to come to the rescue.
* SeldomSeenSpecies: A Glyptodon (last seen in an earlier, also- GreenAesop-themed film, ''Anime/DoraemonNobitaAndTheKingdomOfClouds'') is one of the friendly prehistoric animal inhabitants on the titular island. There's also herds of Megatherium, Chalicotherium, and Ceratogaulus which scares Doraemon mistaking it for a mouse.
* SummonBiggerFish: The climax. [[spoiler: When Sherman sics his Glyptodon mech to crush the heroes, Nobita realize his lost pet rhinocerous beetle, Kabuta, had returned for him. And then Doraemon managed to find his Enlarging Light, which still have some juice in it... cue Doraemon using the light to enlarge Kabuta into a ''massive'' beetle monster to battle Sherman]].
* ThatWasNotADream: Yeah, Nobisuke telling Doraemon and Nobita about his encounter with the Golden Beetle during his youth, which he assumes it was a dream? [[spoiler: It's not, Nobisuke ''did'' witness the Golden Beetle when he's accidentally sent into the future, only for his memories to be erased again, the beetle being fragments of his memory once he's sent back to the 1980s]].
* UncannyFamilyResemblence: Dakke (actually Nobisuke Nobi who was accidentally sent to the future thanks to a case of mistaken identity) looks a lot like Nobita, save for his head being shaved, to the point where Nobita's friends lampshades that they look like {{Identical Stranger}}s.
* WordsCanBreakMyBones: Once again, Doraemon's Frozen Voice Amplifier Potion gets put to good use here, with Nobita and Gian, having drank the potion, shouts word-shaped projectiles on Sky and her robotic Quetzalcoatlus steed.
